  1. I'm loving the Sensorly purple that is increasing in Jefferson City! I've been doing what I can to add to it as an excuse to ride my bike more. I think we got 2-3 towers on LTE (finally). Need to get some more and really light things up! Question: Why does my Galaxy III usually not connect in 4G unless i cycle airplane mode? Even in very strong signal areas, it usually just sits on 3G. Annoying...
  2. My first 4G signal in Jefferson City, MO tonight! I hope my Sensoly caught it! AMF Electric has been installing all new equipment on the Governor Office Building the last two weeks. Corner of East Capitol Avenue and Madison Street (200 Madison St, 65101). This site is not on the speadsheet, although an old ground-based Sprint site is across the street on the top floor of the JC Municipal Parking Garage at 201 Madison Street.
  3. GREAT NEWS FOR MISSOURI CELL PHONE USERS! New Mo. law aids cell phone tower expansion By The Associated Press Friday, July 5, 2013 JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Local governments will have less ability to restrict cellphone towers under legislation signed by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon. The bill signed Friday by Nixon includes a list of 18 things that cities, counties and state entities can no longer require or prohibit when regulating cellphone towers. For example, they cannot evaluate applications for cellphone towers based on whether there were other possible locations, nor whether a company could have added its equipment to an existing tower used by a competitor. They also cannot require companies to remove existing wireless facilities as a condition of building new ones. The Missouri Municipal League had asked Nixon to veto the bill. But Nixon said it would help expand access to broadband Internet and wireless phone service. —— Cell phone tower bills are HB331 and HB345. http://www.newstribune.com/news/2013/jul/05/new-mo-law-aids-cellphone-tower-expansion/
  4. Sorry, I guess I held the phone sideways. Yeah, stuff looks old with weeds and vines growing up everywhere. No sign of any fiber or recent digging. Tower looks like it came from a RadioShack closeout sale in 1930. It does have the pretty little static disipaters on top, though. This is Jefferson City, MO. State's capital city will probably be a while before we get any Sprint LTE. 3G is so slow most of the time. Frequent time outs when trying to use web services.
  5. Can someone tell me what I have here? I took some pics of the pitiful Sprint tower nearest my home (about a mile away). According to the map, this is tower ST04RW765
