How do you find a wisp?
Whenever I saw a truck for a company that said they did internet, I would go home and look them up. The first one was a newer startup and the guy stopped by our house. It was awful as soon as they had customers. Speeds were slow. The new one I have is better but still not perfect.

I had hughes net for about 25 days. Luckily a WISP came in and rescued me. The high costs coupled with the caps and the speeds before were awful. I too am waiting for the day that I can get DSL/cable. I am only about 5-10 miles outside of town but don't see anything coming my way so I am sticking with my WISP

I will take an invite if anyone has any left...

Mike, this is probably addressed but on the S5 when I go into B26, I don't have a signal strength.
-
So recently my S5 started having awful battery drain. It was the same time that sprint service got really bad in my area. With the Epic4g, the ToS bug caused a battery drain but if you look at my battery usage, it is phone now. Also my ToS is 0%. Any suggestions short of a wipe. I deleted all recent apps and added Lookout after it started.
Also, I can't seem to attach an image to my post

I am pretty jealous of those speeds lol
At least I know with Sprint is just a matter of time

Now I am not getting any data at work. It says 3g but won't pull anything. It is getting really frustrating. I just want the old LTE back.
-
The higher the frequency the greater the attenuation either through propagation or physical obstruction. Unless Sprint adds a ton of sites in out market LTE coverage will continue to be swiss cheese. Sadly band 26 is not turning out to be the panacea I had hoped for. I'm still holding out hope that network optimization will improve things, but that hope dwindles with each passing day.
I agree. I had awesome LTE service until they started with the B26 stuff. Now when I sit at work, I am stuck mostly on 3g which seems to have slowed as well. Maybe that is a result of more people dropping off of LTE like myself.
Contractors have up to 6 months to optimize new sites. Keep that in mind.
I hope this is the case. I really like Sprint and they have been great but man I want my LTE back.

I have to use Fixed broadband at my house as we are too far out for cable/DSL. If sprint had a comparable rate plan/service, I would definately look at using them as well. I agree with Fraydog though, I would love to see cable/DSL come out to my neck of the woods so I have choices.

How do I disable band 26

I'm having ecsfb issues in most of the places I have gone so far, the tower that serves my house is the only one so far that has ecsfb working with band 26. I'm going to disable band 26 for now until ericsson gets their head out of their butt. Something else I've noticed since band 26 went live is that band 25 reception has gotten slightly worse by 3-6bd.
I am still having issues as well. At work, LTE is intermittent. I assume that isn't an ECSFB issue as I was under the impression that I would not have LTE at all if they couldn't hand off.
I would love to have LTE where I did prior to this. I had it at home and at work all the time. Hopefully they do get this straightened out.

I like the contract pricing. If they made it easy to discount my bill without having to go find a bunch of strangers to add to my bill I would be willing to look at the off contract. The discount on my monthly bill for a BYOD would have to be greater than the easy pay price. I have never had any desire to leave Sprint though so the contract portion doesn't bother me.

So I have another question about this. Prior to the upgrade, I was always able to get LTE at my work location. Since they upgraded the site, my S5 jumps between 3g and LTE a lot. Sometimes it is B26 LTE, sometimes only 3g. Is this part of the optimization process and is it normal?

I have found LTE signal availability within SignalCheck on unregistered devices to vary by device.. YMMV.
My unregistered EVO LTE (previously active on Sprint) will not connect to LTE or show any LTE information.
My unregistered Galaxy Victory always shows all LTE information.
When inserting an unregistered T-Mobile SIM in my N5, it connects to LTE and shows all LTE data for about 10 seconds before dropping down to HSPA+, then will not connect to LTE again without a full reboot.
When inserting an unregistered AT&T SIM in my N5, it never connects to LTE or shows any LTE data. In fact, I don't think it shows any connections at all.

Thank you. I forgot it today but I will try it.

I'm still using an svlte handset, my S5 is on order and should be here this week. I have noticed the tower briefly going off line from time to time with my phone briefly showing no 1x service. The signal also seems weaker since it got 3g accepted. Hopefully some optimization will take care of that.

Thank you. I noticed it a while back on another tower around here when my S3 wouldn't connect at all. Hopefully in the next few weeks all these towers will be fixed and it will be back to normal. The weaker signal may explain why I am connecting to a different tower now.
-
You should still be able to see signal strength. eCSFB issues are area related, what area are you in?

Oklahoma City. Based upon the OK thread Ericson has some issues the tower is newly updated

Until Thursday of last week, I was always on that one. Once the turnpike was upgraded, I can only connect there. SCP now says I am at 17201 n Rockwell which I don't think is on the map. I live just north of Covell at Council. Are u having issues on the may tower? The one I listed is at 122nd and May. It's the one I most often connect to from my house.

I can check Scp tomorrow. The tower is on John Kirkpatrick turnpike. I used to connect to the one at 122nd and may. I am not sure about your ID but the sponsors map tower ends in xc314Are you connecting to tower 48387 (xDB03)?

Thanks. I thought about taking my old s3 to work to see if it shows an lte signal but I don't know if it will help since it isn't activated

Will an unactivated phone show an lte signal strength on Scp. I am trying to figure out if I am having ecsfb issues on my s5

May and Memorial. They just did tower work. I didnt think that Ericson had ecsfb issues. I can connect to the tower behind Sams at Penn and Memorial and scp indicates that is b26

What would cause my phone to initially connect to an LTE signal and then drop down to 3g right away. I have always had great 4g at my work location but lately, all I am showing is 3g. The 3g signal is strong, -86 and when LTE shows up it is usually -97. The sprint rep had me do a ##72786# and it worked for like a minute.
-
I am not having any LTE issues. Simpsons Tapped out keeps crashing but beyond that I am really happy with the phone. The signal is about the same as my wife's G2.

When I search on there, I don't even see my WISP.
I am bit worried with the new definition of broadband though. IF the FCC takes away the subsidies, I am afraid I may lose my internet or at least pay a lot more which I don't wanna do.
