Pretty nice upgrade to the tower on Blackfoot and Watt. Here's before:

Here's after:

I was across the street from Sunrise Mall the other day, just 3G. I'm confused, up a few posts lilotimz said they couldn't fire up 4G until all sites were done, that they all had to launch at once
They couldn't fire up until all physical equipment was put up (cluster launch). Usually means 3g. 4g will trickle in when backhaul becomes available. Or something like that.

It's nice to see Citrus Heights with LTE. I saw a couple people working on the tower at Raleys again this week.
Also, for a couple seconds, I saw the LTE light up on my phone at home. Does that mean the tower at Blackfoot and Watt is getting upgraded (haven't had a chance to take pictures of it lately) or is it one of the others around here?

Not clear enough especially since it's under some covers. Need closer look at antenna connections and the other RRU

It sucks I couldn't get closer. And I don't have access to a better camera. I've been away for a bit and didn't know they started putting different RRU's up. I guess it's time to catch up on what's going on.

Added some better quality pics of the tower in Citrus Heights.

Sprint is on top rack I believe...looks like lots of new stuff based on your 2nd picture, maybe even TD-LTE Antennas up there as well now? Better picture would help.
Yeah, I know the permit has been out for a while for that tower. The whole top looks completely different and I'm pretty sure that's the sprint one. I'll probably have better pictures tomorrow.

Tower on Sunrise and Old Auburn in Citrus Heights. First picture is from a couple weeks ago. Second one was today. I need to go back with a better camera. Hopefully tomorrow.

This may be a dumb question, but I walked by a manhole cover today that said "sprint". Is that our sprint or something completely different?
-
If your talking about the tower right at Watt and Elkhorn that one is not Sprint. I believe Nextel(iDen) is on the Watt/Elkhorn tower though maybe they are taking Nextel equipment down? Sprint's is just down the street West down Elkhorn Blvd from Watt about 2 blocks..maybe you saw that one, but that's pretty far away to see from the Antelope/Watt Intersection.
There's a tower you can see between the trees down in that direction. It might not be sprint but it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Ill go see it on Sunday/monday to see if there's anything going on.
-
Off Blackfoot and Watt there is a tower. I will be heading to work and drive by to check it out! I hope you are right.

It's not that one, there's nothing on that one yet. From there, turn onto Watt towards Food Source and further down towards the Airforce base or the post office and you should see it straight ahead.
It was around where I circled in red. That's why I asked if there were any permits out over there. Hopefully its a sprint tower.

PRL update and airplane mode toggles the radio to scan for LTE signals.
Hey lilotimz, is there a sprint tower somewhere on Watt with a permit out? Maybe around Mclellan? I could swear I saw out of the corner of my eye someone working on a tower down there but I was turning onto Antelope from Watt so it was a bit far away. I won't be back up there until sunday probably but maybe Giantjay can go take pictures sometime sooner than that.

99% sure the tree tower is Sprint.

That's what I think too. And congrats on the new job. That's the only Best Buy I go to.

I like the suspense.... Or maybe there's something posted that I just can't see. Damn IT blocking stuff at work!!
Sorry about that, didn't mean to create suspense or anything . It actually has nothing to do with the conversation you guys were having. Sent it through private messages but it had to do with his permit map for sponsors and Stockton.

Much thanks. Rancho Cordova is a huge ? as they have a page for permits online that is incomplete so I practically do not know what is going on over there. We do know that work has begun though.
Got something for you, might help might not.

I was at 24 hour fitness and had 0-1 bars when I drove by the tree tower maybe it was just that one that was down.

Might be. I've been dropping down to 1x in and around Winco the past week.
-
I think that at least one tower was down in North Highlands last night. Possibly the ones off of Blackfoot and the tree tower off Walerga.

I didn't notice anything different last night. I'm pretty sure the one on Blackfoot was normal since theres been nothing going on with it yet.

I noticed LTE around Saybrook and mapped it down Antelope to around Rusch Park. Speedtests were around 2-4 Mbps.
-
Nope. The very top rack appears to be legacy Sprint antennas.
That's what I thought. I guess I'll go by again sometime next week.

So I live in Elk Grove and drive out to Roseville to test the LTE. All I have to say is "WOW". Now I can't wait for the rest of the area to get LTE.
29 down and 6 up. This was at the arco station at Cirby and Riverside.
As good as LTE is, I'm more excited by the fact that they are replacing everything in the New Vision upgrades. Better voice, 3g data, and LTE along with unlimited data. It's like a dream come true.

If it's the one on the park then I've no clue. If it's the one by the apartments then it must be under a different address from the one they have on the county parcel viewer. =\
edit: yep, just checked the apartment complex for permit information and the tower there is leased to ATT. Guess the sprint cell site is the stealth monopole by the fire station on the public park.
Link leads to error, but looking it up on antenna search the ones at the apartments came up as ATT and Cingular so yeah, It's probably at the fire station.
-
It could be the one in the apartment or the one by the fire station but I don't know without better images of the one by the apartments. Not to mention, nothing shows up when I search the apartment parcel...
So either way, finding permit info will still be hard/impossible?
-
Ya that's the one. The second one I don't think is by the apartments as that one appears to be more like an ATT setup. I saw a giant fat white monopole by the Fire Station next to the park which I think is a stealth site and could be the spot where Sprint be co-located on. Parcel is a park which I cannot search for permit information...
I thought it was the one by the apartments since that's where the recent network enhacements website from sprint points to. I haven't been down that way too often so I don't know exactly where any other ones are.
-
Haha yeah. There's 2 additional cell sites in Antelope but whose information and address I cannot find. One is a no address parcel on elverta road right next to Antelope Greens Golf Course and the other is somewhere in the vicinity of Antelope High School (the walerga one). I cannot for my life figure out an address for them and so cannot check if they're in progress permit wise.
The first on is the one that's out in the middle of nowhere behind the Food Maxx right? I think the other one is in the apartments right after the Little Caesars. Any way to find their address?
It's that the one that looks like a tree?

Yeah it is. That one looks awesome.

Bad reception and very spotty 3g when a tower is that close kinda sucked. I'm seeing the LTE icon light up randomly now.
