  1.

Do anybody notice that Google.com thinks your located in Puerto rico, or do this only happen on 4g?

When on Innovative cable Google thinks I am in Port of Spain. They think my static IP might have been owned by a different ISP before.  It's okay right now but I have had calendar issues in the past and it was a meeting with a google rep. :(

Not that I know of. Had LTE at Lindquist on Sunday, but I hadn't tried out there before, so not sure if that's new. Nothing new near airport or Magen's, though

I go running on the road over lindquist.  I barely get a 3G signal when i am right at the edge.  Must be that hill above Red Hook again blocking the signal.

    1. Still have zero signal in my house
    2. I'm still mad about having virtual no 3g or 4g working signal in san juan during the half marathon last month.  Wife's samsung galaxy s3 never skipped a beat.
    3. signal would fade in and out more than usual in Chicagoland (northern suburbs) last week

It's nice to see a consistent 4g signal in places that were lacking before both here and on the mainland but with their extensive gaps in coverage it makes it really difficult to do certain things in a moving vehicle.  You can only change your cellular settings so many times without going bonkers.

  2. Screen is becoming unresponsive in certain areas.  This time It is the top so it is very difficult to pull down the notifications.  This started on Monday and as of today the issues are working it's way down the screen.

My first HTC One phone had the lower right corner become unresponsive and with my 2nd one the battery never climbed higher than 47%.

I'm not sure what I can do differently to avoid these issues.

  3. First I need to say thank you.  I had no idea my HTC One could be unlocked.  I just got it unlocked for my trip to Europe. Now,  I don't have to buy another phone.

Second, we keep 2 Sprint, 1 AT&T and a prepaid Innovative phone in the house.  They all suck to some extent.  Even Innovative had an outage yesterday.  One doesn't live in the VI for the great infrastructure, efficient government (btw, how is our broke government still buying new SUV's?..don't answer that) or great customer service.

Just deal with the problems and not stress out about it.  You're in the Caribbean and not Chicago.  It is what it is.

Lastly, people need to live in more areas before berating the 1 or 2 areas they have lived in.  It's a bit offensive.

    • I get much better reception with my 3 phones here than I do with those exact same phones in parts of Louisana.
    • We had to take our trash to a dumpster while living in Alpharetta, GA ..a high end suburb of Atlanta
    • Have you ever lived in or near an inner city of a REAL town?  The crime here is nothing compared to some cities I have lived in.
    • Education - well at least they are trying to improve the public schools here instead of trying to shut them down like in some metro areas in the US.

Now I will get off my soapbox and go back to work on my 1 meg DSL connection. :)

Thank you once again about the unlocking info!

  4. From that pic, it looks like this is just west of IEKHS and the armoury going west towards the various marinas, if thats what this is then thats definitely not a sprint tower.  The sprint tower in that area is actually located in redhook on the hill right across the street from the redhook dock.

If you are driving past the armoury heading away from red hook it does look like it is West but in fact it is directly due North of the High School.  I guess Choice must own it then.

  5. Here is the pic of the tower (the tower on the right with 2 guys on it) being worked on 2 weeks ago.  You can't see it in the picture but there is a big spindle of cable to the right of the tower.

May 23rd I took this pic.

Innovative is 100% GSM...I use them for prepaid.

  6. Hopefully this info is helpful to someone on the VI.

I am now on day 3 of no one being able to call my phone.  Phone rings, I can hear them but they can't hear me.  They only hear an echo of their own voice.

Long story short - Sprint in Puerto Rico tried to force my phone to use another tower via an update but that seems to not have worked yesterday.  Today I called again and they said they are still working on the towers and still may not be done as of tomorrow.

What I really wish was I would have known about calling Puerto Rico first instead of wasting my time with standard Sprint Tech support.  The number for Carib Care is 877-859-9696.  At least they could tell me what was going on instead of being told there are no issues in my area.

2 weeks ago I did take a picture of them working on the tower close to my house - above the armoury.  They were only up there for 1 day and I have not seen them since.

It's an extremely frustrating trying to conduct business when no one can call you on your main line.
