I forgot to do a speed test, sorry about that. I don't think the other tower is enabled for LTE, because when I visit McDonalds, I am right in line of sight to that tower but I get no LTE. I could be wrong though. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

OK, just an update on the Dresden tower. I got a little more information today. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

Well its probably a trace signal then. Sorry at first I thought eHRPD meant 800 but I haven't seen that anywhere. In Coshocton the LTE alert I got was about 500 feet from the tower, but I got no connection. I see some purple on sensorly in dover/ new Philadelphia area, but that's pretty far. Maybe an unmapped tower out that way somewhere. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

No, I just posted before realizing I was wrong. Sorry about that. But the eHRPD is progress at least. It alao seems to be causing the false alarms at any rate. I also saw the same in Coshocton today. They'll probably have 4G before here... Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

I just realized why SCP has been chiming. It looks like Westerville has 800 online. This probably happened a week or more ago. There must be a bug because it was sounding the LTE chime all this time. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

Thanks although I'd rather find something in Westerville but it looks like in addition to the interstates, SR 16/161 might get some upgrades soon. Certainly from CMH to new albany, and maybe Newark, maybe even to the zanesville exit. I say that because most of the upgrades seem to focus around highways. Also, I saw some vans at a site near 161 and Hamilton rd about a month ago, but nothing else going on there since then. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

No signal mapping. I was told not to because of my galaxy nexus. Also, I was tired and wanted to get home, rather than creep around their tower in the dark I will be up that way again in a few days so I can try again. I guess I can get gps map screenshots with the engineering screen data. At least I know (probably) which tower it is. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

I stopped for lunch in Dresden on my way east on 16 yesterday. I could not get an LTE signal no matter what I tried. However, on my way home last night, SCP started chiming when I approached the area. I was driving and wasn't able to do much but I can verify its existence at least and got a BSL. I launched speed test and it was around 5mbps when I lost the signal. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

oh, i will have to look a little harder... so then, is it really of any value to go get the serving cell id's since we already know they're up? I know my phone is "useless" for signal strength.

Hey, I noticed an odd blip of purple out in Dresden not far from SR 16. I will be heading that way in a few days, so I'll check it out and get some data, if no one has already done it by then.

Yeah, that flase reading on 71 north of 161 may have been me. I'm not sure but i had sensorly set to run in the background. sorry about that. i will disable it.

hey, you guys talk about how bad the GNex is, well i have this question: I am currently running the stock sprint firmware, would CM or another rom make a difference for monitoring signal? I am guessing not, because I don't think any 3rd party rom replaces the radio flash. but please let me know if i am wrong. I had installed CM9 and a vanilla ICS rom i built myself in the past, but i know those use the sprint blobs for the radio.

For those of us talking about Westerville, I too have had horrible call quality and data lately (data when I'm not on WiFi of course.) I suspect that it either means they're working on something, or network usage is just up a lot. I don't know why the latter would be true, but I guess its possible. sorry if I made a mistake. antennaweb says cingular (att) owns the northern most tower, verizon owns one about a quarter mile west, and a private firm owns the one I just posted( about 500 feet from the one closest to 270.) I suppose that website could be wrong, and so could my conclusion that sprint is thus using it. I had never even looked closely at cell towers until recently, but since I've had my GNex from its release date, you can imagine I'm a little bit anxious! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

OK, This should be the sprint tower near 270, and SR 3. Its slightly south of the first one i sent photos of. this time i took my real camera. It looks like there are antennas on the top/middle similar to the ones i've seen described, but not 100 percent. The panels were not there a year or so ago according to google street view, but their dates are far from accurate. the site has a wood fence around their equipment and well within private property, so i can't really see the cabinets. I have a couple more angles but they look pretty much the same. If I'm wrong again, I apologize.
