  1. Just looked into what happened last year. The original shipping date/order status said "up to 3 weeks." I ordered at 6am EDT. The phone (64GB 6+) arrived in one week on the release date. Looks like they padded the 6+'s last year and this year by 2 weeks just to be cautious. I think there's a good chance they'll come on the release date as long as you don't wait to order too late on Saturday.

  2. Hopefully. I'm sure they are just being extra cautious. However, even 15 minutes after pre-orders started, apple.com was still saying delivery by 9/25, so hopefully Apple has more supply then demand this year.

And Apple.com still has every model available for delivery on 9/25 -- 90 minutes after preordering began.

  3. if you order by not upgrading, maybe a new line it worked fine.  i was able to put in cart and order.

I noticed that by mistake. The website logged me out, and I made it to checkout before I realized it. Then I signed back it, and the hair pulling started all over again, lol.

  4. Seriously, call Telesales and order. The wait wasn't that long for me. You can keep refreshing the website while on hold, so you have nothing to lose.

Also, the Apple Store app is probably the quickest way to order, if it works with your plan. It was working long before the Apple website started working.

  5. Current shipping times as of 12:18 am PDT:

    Screen%20Shot%202015-09-12%20at%2012.18.

Funny how those were the shipping times from right when preorders started. Exact same kind of thing happened with virtually all 6+'s last year, BUT they eventually posted a cutoff time and said any 6+ ordered before that time would be in the first wave of deliveries (if I'm remembering correctly). I also remember last year that some people that ordered after the cutoff had to wait a looooooong time before getting their 6+.

Hopefully by tomorrow or Sunday sometime they'll be able to say that those who ordered a 64GB 6S+ before a certain time should get it by the 25th.

  6. So what other carriers would an unlocked Sprint iPhone 6s(plus) work on? I read there are separate gsm and cdma versions. I have a year of payments left on my 6+, so I probably won't be doing anything soon. I guess I should look up how much I get for this 64gb one.

The CDMA versions have all the GSM bands, I believe, so it should work everywhere as long as it's unlocked.

  7. The filings do disclose the antenna gains, however, and the antennas between the two sizes are quite different.  Not to say that the Plus is bad, just that the smaller size appears to be notably better.

Interesting. Did the 6S+ degrade from last year, or is it only worse relative to the 6S?

    Thanks!

  8. My iPad Air still has amazing battery life. I'm on the fence about upgrading to the Air 2, or skipping a generation.

Battery life on the Air 2 is a little worse than the Air. Everything feels "snappier" on the Air 2, though, since apps are kept in RAM much longer. Haven't noticed the effects of the anti-glare screen yet since I mainly use my iPad indoors. Overall solid upgrade except for the battery life.
  9. Apparently it also has a NFC Chip that's not enabled now (but could be later via a Software Update). I've read speculation that it's for businesses who want to use their iPads as cash registers and still accept Apple Pay.

I believe the chip is required for Pay, in general, which both the Air 2 and mini 3 support in apps and on the web (just not physical, contact less).
  10. Bumping this question again to see if anyone has tried to install iPad apps on the iPhone 6+.

iPad-only apps don't work on the 6+; you can't even download them.

What is cool, though, is that 6/6+ optimized apps that aren't restricted to being iPhone-only will work on the iPad fully scaled and not just zoomed in, as they previously were. I imagine that in the future more developers will make their apps auto-scaling instead of developing iPhone-specific and iPad-specific apps -- kind of like how things work on Android.

  11. So I guess the person fishing doesn't like donuts? That's what I always thought was funny about the donut jokes- who the he** doesn't like 'em?

They pretty much take away the seriousness of whatever cause they're protesting for by being jacka$$es. Can't take them seriously.

And, yeah, why waste a good donut like that? Delicious!

  12. thought it didn't bug you that much?!

So happy to be an Apple customer. I highly doubt Samsung or any other company would be so lenient with a replacement.

And even if they were as lenient, I'm guessing you'd have to mail the phone into them for warranty replacement. One of the perks of owning Apple gear is that you can just walk into an Apple store whenever a problem crops up -- even if you bought it somewhere else.

  13. That's too much case :) . I just ordered this one two days ago and I love it. I prefer no case, but this one will at least let me set it on things without scratching the aluminum.

I order the 0.2mm matte cases from China on eBay. It take a couple weeks for delivery, but they're only $1 to $2! Hard to get thinner and cheaper than those, and they fit perfectly (at least the one I ordered did).

    Found the one I ordered.

  14. These new iPads and lower prices on last year's models have created some pretty decent deals on refurb iPads sold by Apple. Refurbs from Apple are usually indistinguishable from new, have a full 1 year warranty from Apple, and a brand new battery and shell.

    iPad mini 2s starting at $249 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, $349 for 64GB, $439 for 128GB (+$100 for LTE)
