  1. Does the charger create a decent magnetic grip with the phone? Just curious, might snag a couple of these for the price...

Not magnetic but is big enough that the phone doesn't have an issue staying on top of it. Has rubber on both sides to help it stay in place.

  2. I have the Nexus 5, and have been all over Eastern MA & Southern NH with it.. haven't connected to anything other than Band 25 (1900) LTE so far. No issues with the CSFB problem either. Awesome LTE reception with this phone.

Have you turned on the other 2 channels? I haven't seen anything on my Nexus 5 yet but will let you know if i see anything.

  3. I just saw this on Android Police

This is Sprint's first LTE-powered tablet, and packs a bit of a spec boost over the Wi-Fi model:

    • 10.1" 1280x800 display
    • 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8960
    • 1GB RAM
    • 8GB built-in storage, microSD card slot
    • 3MP rear shooter, VGA front camera
    • 10.1 inches x 6.9 inches x 0.38 inches, 1.29 lbs.
    • Android 4.0

Like most other recent device announcements, there's no word on pricing or availability, only that it "will be announced at a later date." Cool.

If this was a Galaxy Note 2 10.1 LTE I may be jumping for joy and screaming SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

Seriously though, only 8GB's on a tablet running ICS+ ! that leaves about 5.8 gbs of usable space??? that is one decent game and maybe one or two downloaded/cached movies or tv shows before you start hitting low space errors.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

It has a Micro SD slot. If your soo worried about space then just add your own. Simple

  4. i just had to turn my phone to lte only to pick up the lte. signal is strong and holds further then it would in regular mode. looks like its jist a software/firmware issue that i hope they resolve soon. looks like the phone sees both the 3g and 4g lte and would just prefer to connect to the 3g

  5. I also have an HTC EVO 4G LTE. I have not picked up a 4g signal once; I live in Westie, travel around Norwood on weekends, and work at Copley Square. I ensured I have my CDMA/LTE setting on, and have gone in/out of airplane mode a few times. Never seen the LTE pop up on my screen. Sigh.

I have gotten signal over by the faulkner hospital. One and only time 4g has came up on my phone without having to do anything with switching the phone from airplane mode. Drove past it a day later and it did not do the same. Was driving and unable to do the cmda lte toggle though. Should still be live over there though.

  6. Same problems. Have to restart my phone a lot because it wont reconnect to the mobile network,

I had that issue in the past depending on what rom ive had running. But this phone on a stock rom i havent lost complete mobile network. Just noticing weird radio issue's with LTE mostly. Dont want to wait till LTE is completely deployed to find out that my EVO is completely unable to hold onto LTE service and then not be able to return it for another LTE phone that actually detects LTE correctly.

  7. Can someone please explain why someone with their phone on LTE only will pick up a tower but not me while I switch back and forth from CDMA only to LTE/CDMA near a specific tower. I pick up 4G no problem at my work but not where he picked it up for sensorly.

I think that just has to do with the radio on the EVO LTE. i have been curious also why it seems my EVO doesn't automatically change over to LTE and the other phones seem to retain the LTE connection for longer distances from what ive read. Hopefully a firmware update in the future with fix this.

  8. If you were only getting 9Mbps, then you were likely not connected to the site you think you were, and explains why you got dropped so quickly.

The signal strength indicator on the top bar never shows LTE signal strength, even when the 4G icon is shown. It always shows 1x. Additionally, apps that show you the tower location never show LTE tower locations. It only shows you the location of the 1x signal you are receiving.

The only way to definitively determine LTE signal strength is in the Debug menu, under LTE Engineering.

You could think you are connected to that tower but really be connected to A) one that's not showing as completed or B ) be connected to the tower in mattapan.

Figuring out what tower you are on can be pretty tricky. Just cause the map shows only one tower having LTE in JP doesn't mean that you are connected to it.

I am only judging by what tower i am connected too by what is on the map for completed sites. it seemed like it was correct on the speed tests i took. As i got further away from the site i am thinking off i got less dataspeeds. Only tower in my area that i have gotten 4g on.
