  1. I'm stuck having to use an Airave in my apartment because ever since my landlord moved in downstairs and did major renovations, we've not been able to get much if any Sprint signal up here. I hate it because it's 3G only. Is there any chance Sprint will get it together and offer an LTE Airave? I'm guessing not, but it would be cool if they did. :tu:

Why would you need LTE airave if you have WIFI?

  2. This is not a rant, but a observation.   As stated in previous post, I have 800 and pcs bouncing back and forth. But I have notice a couple of times, when 1x800 is lock on for over a certain period of time (No PCS fringe signal), for say about 15 mins., then the phone stay locked onto 1x800 when I leave the building and go home (about 4 miles away).  Then it lock onto my airwave.

This has happen a couple of times. Maybe some others can confirm and get some insight on the workings on this.

  3. Also, sometimes I have to force my phone to connect to the 800 band. It can be registering -103dbm to -105dbm (unusable) but it does not change over to 800. Is there a cutoff for the switch over?

    I will appreciate any info!

I to have the same issue at the office. If I go into the building more then I get 1x800 and it works great. Seems like it wants to switch to 1x800 only when it looses the 1900 signal.  Even when doing a call test and while on a call it will not hand over the call to 1X800 from 1900, it would drop it. From my understanding it's suppose to hand it off.

Anyone can chime in here to help me understand this. But it looks like it has to loose all of 1900 signal and then looks for 1x800. I would think if the phone was have a bad signa0,l the tower or phone would hand off to 1x800.  I'm hoping it something they need to fine tune or upgrade.

  4. Even though it's way north of richmond I'm glad and excited to see a tower on 800 in the richmond market. I hope they make it to chesterfield soon so I can ditch my airaive. All the trees and lack of towers really takes a toll on the signal.

It's great when it works. But keep in mind it still holds on to the 1900 all the way to 106-110 dbm., which is un-usable. It bounces between in my office which makes me loose calls. But when you latch onto it and have it (deeper in the building) it's great!!

  5. If those numbers are close to true, to me thats a screaming call to at least diversify the data options to be more similar in structure to competitors , with added value.

I disagree. I just think customers have gone, to long with with a bad network and empty promises of WiMax. People just got tired of waiting for upgrades. I like underdogs and beleive Sprint will bounce back and beyond.

  6. Don't think that is quite how it works.  Sprint WiFi calling is linked to specific, named WiFi access points (i.e., your router), and requires you to enter the street address where the router is located.  The generic Comcast access point name will be different from your router name, so there should never be a problem.  If you would connect your WiFi calling into the generic Comcast access point name, I suppose in theory there could a problem, but since you are not using a Comcast modem (hence, you are also not using Comcast WiFi), I don't see how that would happen.

I have been using WiFi calling on my Comcast Xfinity cable LAN for a couple of weeks now, with almost zero problems.  I do not connect through the Comcast WiFi (and I have also blanked out the public access point, which I ranted about in another post), but rather I connect through my own 5 GHz router.  When I leave my house, WiFi calling shuts off and I go on the Sprint network, and when I return home, it seamlessly turns back on.

OK, I didn't really know it worked that way. I figure if you had Wifi connected, weather be a hotel or a restaurant, then Wifi calling would work.  I see you have to register with your phone per access point. That would fixes the issue I'm talking about then.

Now for G2 to Wifi calling now.

  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a situation that might be a problem when and if I enable Wifi calling. Others might possibly have this problem also.

I'm on Comcast. I have my own modem (Not one their FYI). I still connect to Comcast on other ppls open network as I drive down the road with only using my pw and log in with my home Wifi (not sure how they are doing it). I do not have Wifi calling yet, but the way I figure it, is if I'm driving down the road and connect someone's Wifi and get a call. It will just drop it. And also might just pick up the next houses Wifi and have it happen again. This can really upset some ppl. especially if they don't know what's going on or have ppl think there is something wrong with their phone.

I know the solution is to turn off Wifi or not have Wifi calling. But ppl should be aware that this situation might occur.

  8. Yes, but you'll need ADB tools to pull it, which, if you are adventurous and do not have them, I can get you setup with them.

I've messed with ADB before and I think I still have it. I just need help for someone to walk me through it. And correct me if I'm wrong. You should not do a install for us to be able to get the dump. If that is the case I'll make sure to advise the other 2 member of the family not to install it, if they get the notification. (That's if you don't get the dump by then)

  9. Can you do a dump with a un-rooted phone?

Anyone that takes the update, if you know how, I'd take a system dump. :)

I'll head back to the dungeon to put the finishing touches on SuperG2 as Sprint has forced our hand again. Damn you Sprint!! Lol [emoji13]

  10. The last two updates went as follows:

ZVC - Source Code Released 3/25 (Tues) -> Roll out started 3/31 (Mon)

ZVA - Source Code Released 1/24 (Fri) -> Roll out started 1/27 (Mon)

I hope it is tomorrow.  Would give me an excuse to switch back to my G2 for awhile.  :tu:

The thing I'm really hoping for is WiFi calling. That's all I really want for X-mas.  Then I'm hoping team derp will be able to put it into their next release ROM easily.

    Happy, Happy, Happy!

  12. DC has launched because when u travel up to NOVA to the DC/Maryland border LTE is strong and it stays like that until you hit Delaware when it's slightly weaker. I don't understand why Sprint can't get it like the other networks. They said LTE would come to my area in June...it's July! and unless I'm on my schools property LTE is very weak even though this tower is 2 miles away and I am always on 1 or 2 bars. Been getting more dropped calls ever since they started messing with the tower. People will call me and I hear weird beeps and buzzes. This is really pathetic I thought Network Vision would end this but it made it worse. I shouldn't have to sit outside to stream YouTube on LTE meanwhile in Atlanta at my dads I can get it in my room that's in the back of the house. I'll occasionally get kicked off to 3g but my non triband finds it again within 10 mins. Mind yall it was band 25 1900 I also had 1x800 down there. I can't leave sprint until Next August 2015 I'm not patient so I'm hoping on This Sprin-T-Mobile merger. I refuse to get a Spark phone I like SV LTE and if I can't text and talk like I can now on my non triband. I like dual antennas over the single one in a GS5, LG G2. I'm not bashing but I'm getting annoyed when I can't even call other sprint phones without having some sort of problem with the network. I got slightly better 3G -95dbm ehrpd but 1 bar sucks. So I'm calling sprint later to re ticket my tower on Genito because even when you're standing under the tower I get 2 bars LTE... like really?! In staten Island I get that inside pulling up to 35 megs download and 16 up on 1900 Spark.

It is, what it is. It's not magic. I takes time to get this done. NY has had it's growing pains, as will the Richmond area.  You have seen what the network can do in NY.  It will just take time.  Besides you will not get full benefit from not having a tri-band phone.

  13. I just notice the other day the when I'm on LTE and make or receive a call it shows it roaming. Signal Check Pro says I'm on sprint network.  I'm pretty sure I'm on the sprint network when I make these calls.  Anyone else notice this or seen it. It doesn't bother me but just curious about it. FYI I'm on SuperG2 ROM.

  14. I bought an LG G2 about 2 months ago.   There is an area on the phone where the touch screen is unresponsive.   Every once in a while the phone gets too hot, will randomly do crazy stuff on the screen (zoom in, scroll, etc) by itself.   Is that normal, or should I file an insurance claim?    I already did a factory reset on the phone and it didn't fix it.  I thought it could be the case,  but taking it off didn't fix it.  The software is up to date and it still is like that.

The area where it's unresponsive on my phone is when you are on the Play Store and going to install an app.   When you try to click 'install' on the app you want to install, you can't press it.   I have to turn the phone sideways to get it install.

Even when I try to click the 'copy' or 'paste' on something highlighted, it's almost impossible to get the phone to do what I want it to.

Nope. Not normal. Send it back.
