These fees really should just be baked into the mrc for whatever plans they sell. I get having sales/local/911 fees separate but little administrative charges like this always irritate me no matter who the service provider is (phone, cable, gas/electric etc).

I agree, but I also understand why they do it. It gives the illusion that their plans are "cheaper" by about $5/month. Taxes and fees for my plan add about another 10% to the total monthly cost. If ARPU is $50 and taxes and fees are an estimated $5 per month. For 60 million subs, that's $300 million per month, or $3.6 billion per year. Respect to TMUS.

  2. Increased from $1.99/month/line. Sprint is lacking in my area, so this is a good opportunity to jump ship. This is just a PSA for people that don't comb over their monthly billing statements in detail (I certainly don't). I think it's been 4-5 years since the last increase. I've suffered with Sprint's subpar CS, coverage, and speed for over 10 years now and the value proposition just isn't worth suffering any longer. Credit to Reddit or I would have never bothered to check my bill: https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/comments/83wqcx/26_increase_in_administrative_charge/

Administrative Charge Increase Effective with this bill, the Admin. Charge has increased to $2.50/month/line for customers subject to the charge. You may cancel the Sprint service(s) directly or indirectly affected by this change without incurring an early termination fee. To cancel, dial *2 within 30 days.

I also confirmed with Sprint chat to cover my ass when inevitably I'm charged an ETF when I port out. Check if you still carry a balance on your phone before canceling service.

Sherry T. : While we value their business and would like to retain these customers, should a customer decide to cancel their Service Agreement because of the Administrative Charge they will not be charged an early termination fee, if applicable; however, customers will remain responsible for any outstanding installment billing or lease payments, including any applicable Purchase Price Option.
Sherry T. : Sorry for the confusion earlier. That means that early termination fees are waived however the remaining balances of the phones under agreement will not be waived.

  3. Was in Portland this weekend, was able to finally experience B26 on my MXPE, having an active connection indoors was awesome but sometimes it would drop to 3G in older buildings which was no big deal. 3CA is also enabled. Compared to 2CA in Orange County and Inland Empire, data seems to be a big faster when loading sites. My friends on T-mobile were struggling with full bars on their Iphones, their instagram feed wouldn't even load.

Are you in the right thread? I thought the MXPE doesn't work with Sprint CA.

  4. It'll work on BYOD.

    Eligible devices - Coming Soon:

    Samsung Galaxy S7 Special Edition

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Special Edition

    Moto G4

    Moto G4 Plus

What I'm interested to know is if CA will work properly. Or if it'll be nerfed like the Moto X PE. Also 2x or 3x CA?

  5. That is a pretty busy area. Do you know if you were on Clear B41 or Sprint B41? In some cases, the Clear B41 still doesn't have the appropriate backhaul yet.

Sorry, I don't know for sure.

Are you able to tell from the PLMN? It's 311-870. The majority of the time I see 310-120 around here.

  6. It's possible you may not have been using CA at this moment. Although it's possible, 99% of the time the PCC and SCC PCI's are the same since you're generally using CA on the same sector of the same site. The SCC fields on LG engineering screens tends to get stuck, so when it disconnects, it still shows data there even though it's not connected. The only way to know for sure it's connected is if the RSRP numbers are updating on both the PCC and SCC fields.

Where was this test done? It's also possible there was just a lot of traffic in the area.

    I see. I didn't know that. Thanks.

Midtown St. Louis. Right after I tested, I checked the engineering screen again and it showed primary/secondary of 375/375, going along with what you mentioned.

  7. i have this phone and CA works with it. however unless you get a really great deal on it i would stay away from this phone. its just "all right" not amazing by any means and still has lag that gets worse as time goes on. basically you have to factory reset every 4 to 6 months to keep acceptable performance.

Confirmed. Thanks. Though I was hoping it would be faster. Oh well.

  8. I see this is reported to have 2x CA, but haven't seen screenshots or confirmation of CA in this thread. Can one of y'all owners confirm CA is working well? Thinking about picking up a used model. Thanks.

  9. Does anyone notice a slight memory leak in the stock 5.0.2 rom? Signalcheck pro and pandora and chrome keep closing itself.

Happened to me occasionally on ZVG, usually after extended uptime. A reboot fixes it. Just updated to ZVH, so I don't know if it improved at all.

  10. No Service -> 1x -> 3G -> B26. I've been sending Twitter DMs with @SprintCare and the mobile tower never made it out; further, the tower that serves the stadium was not yet repaired, as was forecast last week.

I try to be positive with Sprint progress. NV has been awesome in a lot of areas... But the stadium/downtown has been a hot mess for as long as I've been a Sprint subscriber with a smartphone.

Things are regularly under 1 Mbps down in downtown during a weekday. On a game day I don't even bother trying and flip to airplane mode.
  11.

Not sure if there's much to brag about. Speeds are probably fine in underpopulated areas, but urban STL is already way over capacity, even with triband.

Downtown/midtown has similar LTE speeds during daylight hours.
