  1. Which area is this

    Sent from Evo now Free

In the past month or so I went from constantly dropping calls dozens per day to consistent LTE and smooth handoffs on Route 4 more or less from Englewood & Fort Lee all the way down to Route 208 and up thru to Hawthorne/Wyckoff. Data speeds ranging from 10mbps to 20mpbs with pings under 100.

EDIT: LTE also shows up at Starbucks on Route 17 South & all over the place in Paterson, Little Falls, Parsippany & even a little in Wayne.

  2. Tons of upgrades in Northern NJ in the past 6 months and my SERVICE HAS BEEN TERRIBLE! Dropping calls left and right, daily dropped calls way into the double digits. Recently things have improved and I'm not dropping many calls at all. Added bonus usable data (LTE with decent speeds) is available in many of the areas where I dropped the most calls just a few weeks ago.

  3. I have a huge hate for idiots jabbing on the phone staring off into space other than keeping the eyes between the lines. I heard one lady talking the other day that she loves her new headset, it makes it easier to text and talk on the boring drive to work. What!?

I'm with you on reckless and distracted drivers, most dangerous person on the road is in the right lane driving slowly reading a book, texting and putting on makeup. That being said not all of us operate that way I depend too much on my license to act a fool in that manner. I do hope that woman gets arrested before she hurts someone.

  4. That is what we have been told. Sprint tri band LTE devices will not support SVLTE.  Whether that is due to band 26 LTE 800, band 41 TD-LTE 2600, or the combination of the two, we do not know.  And the sample size is very small right now to project unconditionally into the future.  But the standard expectation going forward should be no SVLTE on Sprint multi band LTE devices. Simultaneous voice and data will have to be accomplished by other means, such as third party VoIP apps and eventually VoLTE.

Unfortunate but understood, I haven't seen much talk about VoLTE on Sprint but the VoIP option is looking better and better.

  5. Why would I/we delete a dissenting opinion?  Frankly, I do not care for the insinuation.

And I still think that you are wrong.  If you are talking on the phone and using navigation while driving, even handsfree, then you are doing too much at once, and that leads to distracted driving.  Instead, pull over, check your directions, then go on.  If you cannot do that, you are not much of a navigator.

Some communities have forum mods that are less open to free discussion clearly S4GU is a step above.

I still don't see how the occasional turn by turn early notification is so distracting that its a problem. Also my bigger concern is live traffic/accident reports and reroutes in less known areas. Its not as if EVERY MOMENT I drive I'm on a call and being given turn by turn directions its just the fact that I CANNOT get those live UPDATES that upsets me about this phone.

I've read the in depth FCC analysis and I cant help but wonder if things will ever change? The first Tri-Bands have limitations. Is the complexity of Sprints network really never going to allow for SVLTE?

  6. Yes, you should.  Some of us have sufficient map sense to know where we are going.  If you do not, then you should get off the phone, stop listening, and start paying more attention to where you are.  Hopefully, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut will make your distracted lifestyle illegal soon enough.

Hey at least you didn't delete a dissenting opinion.

Handsfree is law and live traffic and navigation become necessary when traversing a territory that spans 4 counties and the entirety of Northern NJ. I don't have time to memorize every street in every town in Northern NJ.

The Verizon version supports SVLTE... any chance our version does?

  8. When T-Mobile threw the switch on its first LTE markets back in March, the company promised to cover 100 million people by mid year. Four months on, there are 157 million potential customers with access to the un-carrier's still fledgling 4G LTE network. With true 4G now launched in 116 metro areas the expansion is actually ahead of schedule, and could match its HSPA+ footprint within a year. By the end of 2013, Big Magenta plans to cover 200 markets, encompassing 200 million people -- which actually seems quite conservative seeing how quickly the network has expanded so far. In fact, the speedy deployment kinda puts AT&T and Sprint to shame. T-Mo might have waited the longest to get on the LTE train, but it's hasn't wasted any time getting those blazing speeds to its loyal customers.
