Yes I think that Mather has had its Sprint 2.5 equipment activated and gone Live. The Mather Water Tower did not have any ClearWire equipment nor is there any ClearWire equipment nearby, so this must be the case.

Well well well.
Looks like some of the sites in the City of Sacramento cluster around my home area got fired up for LTE 800 tonight for everyone to use. I've noticed the signal being detected by my phone via signalchecks adjacent sector setting with two identical PCI connections with slightly different RSRP but could never connect to the other one.
Nice new years present this is. From a handful of LTE 800 active sites to almost every available site in about 46weeks.
Sprint is launching LTE 800 rather quickly all over Sacramento. I've noticed though however that when I am connected to B26/B25 via the same tower my RSSI(Signal Strength) is nearly the same via both B26/B25 on the same tower. You would think my signal strength would be greater on B26 from the same tower that is also broadcasting B25. I believe this is because Sprint is setting lower power settings on B25/B26 upon early site acceptances, so that they can roll out B26 really quickly and keep interference issues at a minimum. This is fine by me though because just having B26 is an immediate increase in network capacity. I think this is where next year in 2015 when Sprint starts focusing resources on site optimizations that we will see better signal strengths from B25/B26 as they slowly increase each sites transmit power...optimizing...and improving coverage/performance. This goes for all bands actually including B41. Optimizations are going to take some time just like the rip and replace of all the equipment has taken awhile, but I think once they start focusing resources on optimizations and not new equipment roll out it will go rather quickly considering permits/etc will no longer be involved. They can do a lot if not most of site optimizations remotely too without actually having to be at the site itself. They still need a guy/vehicle like the old Verizon Commerical (Can you hear me now? How about now?) that is out and about testing real world signal strengths in various places though as they do optimizations. Haha. Nice to see the progress really pick up speed before we go into the new year 2015!

Hmm okay. So far, at least on my note 2, the LTE is pretty streaky here in Davis. Has there been any work on adding more LTE area or am I gonna have to get a triband phone to survive here?
TriBand Phone. Your limiting yourself because the Note 2 can only access 1 of the 3 bands of LTE Sprint is providing to you.

The newer spark devices are all single radio configurations. This means that they only connect to one technology at once and use a technology called enhanced circuit switch fallback to move to the correct type of technology.

Yeah this is confusing to most users. Even though you may have only 1 or 2 bars of LTE(also depends which band 25/26/41 LTE) you could really have Full Signal strength on 800/1900 voice from a different tower. The LTE signal strength can be confusing to some users thinking that they they are going to have poor voice coverage, but soon as you place a call your phone switches from LTE to 800/1900 voice...and you most likely will have good to full signal. This is usually the case when your phone is connected to a B41 LTE site.

There are no Clear sites in Rancho Cordova either so it has to be from the Sprint sites and to my knowledge no 8T8R equipment has been deployed in RC so it's probably all encompassing future estimates...
aka coverage maps suck and don't believe them.
The Rancho Cordova Fitzgerald site is a Clear site actually over and behind the Costco. That is the closest site. The rest are Sprint and NV 3G/800 at the moment with two having LTE 25. The next Clear Site isn't until down by Watt/Howe, so there is a large gap until they bring in the 8T8R equipment.

Some bs no one knows.
Nothings changed so far with the network and new sites still come up one by one.
Coverage map is extremely optimistic as usual so never take it as a fact.
Positive thing now is we can hammer sprint now on any issues that are encountered and they have to acknowledge it so report away if there's any issues.

Yes this is good now too. We are only helping Sprint by helping identify network issues at this point.

Still waiting for the tower behind Raley's at Madison and Hazel to go live. It's frustrating, I go towards 50 and I have LTE, same with Greenback and near the Sunrise Mall as well. Wonder what the issue with this tower is?
Well.....what do you know!!!! Madison/Hazel site just got accepted for 4G LTE!!!
-
I'm still waiting for my 6+ to arrive and 800LTE to go live.
I heard the 6+ is having alot of bending issues due to it's size being too big and too thin.

Backhaul. Tmobile is on this tower and so is ClearWire, so there should be some sort of fiber or advanced backhaul, however it could be there is not enough fiber available and they have to pull more fiber. Advanced Backhaul can take as long as 6 months from when an order is placed. We don't know when they placed the backhaul order for this tower though.

Yes.

Believe top rack shows sprint new upgrade to tower at I5 and hwy 104.
B41 8T8R Equipment?

There is Clearwire equipment on the Football Stadium Lights Pole at Bella Vista....betting your pulling B41 from there. Cool.
The best speed I've got so far. In front of Bella Vista High School.

Looks like LTE Band 12 got left out..for CCA/RRAP. The two models for Sprint A1586 iPhone 6 is Tri-Band and A1524 iPhone 6 Plus is Tri-Band. Woo-Hoo!!
-
Nope.
Shutting down for another 5 mhz pcs carrier means shunting EVDO and 1x carrier to a 5mhz slice for one 1x carrier and two EVDO carriers. Not going to happen. Too much users on 3g still.
You're looking at years in the future before that can even been contemplated.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Ok. That makes sense. Years in the future...darn. I guess this would work if they could get everyone off 3G and onto LTE, but Sprint doesn't have much in 1900 or 800 spectrum to shift things around until they can get everyone completely off 3G to re-purpose the pcs spectrum. Interesting.
-
As i said before about data speeds..
This is a future network question Tim and/or Robert. When VoLTE finally starts to roll out couldn't they re-use the Sprint Spectrum from all the CDMA/3G carriers and re-purpose that spectrum for LTE 1900 carriers or VoLTE 1900? That would increase capacity for Sprint's Sacramento PCS Spectrum and all carriers would be LTE right?

I got this in Midtown (Downtown Sacramento) at Old Soul Coffee at 21st and H Street. I didn't think of Tri-Band having to be a factor, but yes, I'm running a Nexus 5.
That looks more like B25 LTE Speeds for our area. Hopefully we can confirm, but maybe it's an older Clear B41 site as well.

In my twenty minutes commute to arc I have not lost the 1x800 signal even once.
Love this 800.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Do you think they have prioritized 1x800 over 1xRTT for your phone to prefer?

Is this the one at Mt Vernon cemetery?
YES!

Yep. Looks like they took down the old legacy antennas. That one is already broadcasting.
I have helpful equipment identification links in my signature.
See: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3906-how-to-spot-sprint-antennas-and-rrus-samsung/
They have been very quick to take down the legacy equipment on sites that are at least NV 3G accepted. More and more sites everyday I pass to and from work that I know are at least NV 3G accepted have had their legacy equipment removed. Crazy...since it took them so long to install NV 1.0 Gear. The de-installs of legacy gear have been going crazy fast.

15 minutes now...phone is sitting on Extended. It tries every couple minutes to look for Sprint network, but drops to Extended...hopefully this is a good sign.

I've been watching my phone off and on all night. My home tower is the sprint tower right next to Antelope High School/fire station off Palmerson drive.. I normally get all 5 bars on my iPhone and 3G, but just 2 minutes ago, my phone is now dropping to no signal and now is running on Extended full 5 bars. It tries to go back to Sprint 3G, but now keeps going back to Extended. I think something is happening somewhere in Sacramento tonight and it just started!

Ranchos going live with folsom last checked.
I'll know by tomorrow if they are or aren't.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
They just completed/installed NV equipment on the Folsom HS tower and the Lembi Park NV upgrades last week I do believe maybe those were the last two towers on the Folsom list because Folsom looked to have all their towers installed with NV equipment. If he is right then I agree Folsom and Rancho might get launched together if he is hearing Rancho is going tonight and tomorrow. We will very soon find out. Cross Fingers!

When you say Stockton is cluster launched that means only to 1x800 right? Because northern Stockton still isn't launched in still pulling the 1xrrt or whatever it's called I can't remember but Benjamin Holt and pershing area wasn't launched yet
Its Cluster launched for NV 3G which is 1xRTT which is 1900mhz.....so that would be correct for what you are seeing.

2nd rack with the microwave backhaul dish (clearwire). Sprints already converted with the new antenna and radios up there. Note the 6' antenna, 4' antenna, and ~5' antenna and the microwave dish. That's a Sprint - Clear colocated rack.
Already marked on my map as in progress for months.
Lilo is correct. Sprint already has added the NV Samsung equipment to this tower 2nd Rack a while back. That work you see right there on the 3rd rack down from the top is Verizon.......
