  1. On Universal Blvd below the Wawa, just above International Drive in my hotel and my phone is struggling on B26. Keeps dropping to 800x but the data is non existant.

Outside, a fairly strong B41 signal.

that corner is horrible. I have to switch to cable wifi when I'm there.

  2. Everyone thinks sprint is a bad investment, while right now on paper it doesn't look great. But they finally made a little of a profit and they still have good customer numbers. I have been thinking about getting some sprint stock too, I know in a few years. I would be mad at myself if didnt, also softbank didn't buy a company to lose money. We all know by the end of this year 100 million people covered with band 41 and it will keep growing. Getting better right day in my mind :)

Nope, I've been buying and buying!

  3. I know the other Premium Outlet on Vineland had horrible service last time I was there, hopefully it's better now.

International Drive and Jamaica Court...kicked off 4g and sent to 3g with this awesome speed. (Sarcasm)

Several sites in this area have been "in progress" for a long time. Perhaps one day...fingers crossed!

friend of mine sent me this when he was down by Holden Heights today, anybody happen to see the "Walmart" symbol? We got SPARK in Orlando!

That's good I guess, but this reminds me of a friend of mine who is always starting a new project before he finishes the one he started first.

  6. Did anyone else have this experience? This morning at 2am, I lost my 4g connection and would only receive 3g. My phone stayed that way while traveling throughout both Orange and Seminole Counties. A 3:30am, I again checked and it still would not go into 4g. During this time I restarted the phone once, but it did not help. Now it is noon, and I see I have working 4g. System test?

  7. Keep thinking of testing out Sprint, but not sure how the network state is currently.

What do the local folks think about LTE coverage and speeds? I'm living in the Maitland area and working in the I-Drive / Universal area.

I would suggest you upgrade your membership, which will better assist you in your decision.  Upgrading will allow you access to maps which I find to be very valuable.  I drive, work, and play throughout the Orlando metro, and I must admit there are areas that have great service while other areas are lacking and weak.  With that being said, no one has perfect coverage, I know because my employeer just switched our mobile laptops to "Big Red" from Sprint, and I have found gaps and weak/slow areas with them as well.  If it's any consolation, I just added two more lines to my Sprint account because I believe their investement in upgraded infrastructure will benefit my needs.

Just wondering if anyone has any info on when I can expect more widespread LTE coverage in New Smyrna Beach. Right now coverage is pretty much limited to the main arteries (44, I-95, A1A, US1, Flagler Ave, Canal St). Also where are the Sprint cell towers located in New Smyrna Beach?

  9. I have read that there are a few issues with the tri band phones right now, but I am not entirel sure what is up with them. Sprint Spark will essentially fix all coverage issues with sprints network. Using the 3 spectrums, 800, 1900, and 2500...you will pretty much always have some sort of decent data connection and it will hand off between them without you even noticing.

FYI- A lengthy article addresses tri-band phone issues in the Sponsor section.

  10. Today, I was switched from a Sprint data card to a Verizon Broadband data card for a laptop. I hate to admit it but I have been impressed with the constant high speed connection the Verizon card has provided. I still use Sprint for voice, smartphone, and I look forward to a more intense comparison on the two networks.

  11. I can't speak for the tower you have pictured, but I can tell you all cellphone companies are working on their equipment. I have spoken to workers working for At&t, Verizon, Tmobile, etc. They have stated the industry is constantly evolving and they are constantly making changes. One contractor for Sprint told me last week they have begun to concentrate on Orlando proper, and we will begin to see noticable difference in service. I have noticed two new towers this week alone in the Sea World area are about to go Lte.
