  1. A question for anyone that is knowledgeable about connections.

I connect to a tower that has lte and is only about 5 streets away and way under a mile away and if I go to the street that the tower is on, I can get an lte connection but when I'm at home, in still connected to that tower and have anywhere from 2-3 bars, but my question is

why won't it connect to lte and only stay on 3g and have 2-3 bars?

  2.

    And how was the speed

    They were pretty good.

    I got 14 down and 7 up

Tried to post a pic but says to big.

  3. Still 3G here in Dallas and slow at that

Nothing here in Houston (well my area at least, even though an lte tower is .08 of a mile away .) Even drove and parked at the tower to see if it'll connect and nada! Then drove to another lte tower that's 1.8 miles away and it connected to lte

  4. I hope that when I head to work around 3, that I at least hit a signal somewhere close to work.....Im curious how everyone else in Houston seems to be getting "blips" of LTE, yet me and Latinoboi30 can't seem to get squat.....

I finally got some LTE while I was at Walgreens so I did a speed test and got 14down and 7upload . Pic won't post, says its to big .

But now that I'm home, I don't get 4g . That tower is 1.8 miles away from my house. There's another tower a lot closer to my home that's an LTE tower, but I don't think they have stopped blocking that one just yet. They need to stop blocking it soon

  5. 4G LTE is live in Houston in the midst of the torrential downpour. Here's a screenshot

I'm in Houston as well and have not had an LTE connection yet, if it is live now.I keep losing 3g every few min or so, don't know if its trying to connect to it.

  6.

eHRPD is just the EVDO software overlay that allows smooth handoffs between 3G and LTE. It is the 3G connection being run through the LTE hub. Sometimes it is faster than the legacy EVDO, sometimes not.

Thanks for explaining this to me

  7. Im not 100% sure either, but I know here in Katy (Fry Rd@529) Ive had nothing but crappy 3G. I work off of Wayside and I-10 and thats where I use my phone the most lol. This deal better be worth the wait, cause this 3G crap sucks lol....

I live about 5 min from I-10 and Wayside and 3g sux there as well but I'm between 2 towers that are going to have lte, so I really hope its worth it as well.

Ive been very patient...I would think it may go live a little early...I mean, a Sunday is kind of an odd day to start it up huh?

I hope it does go live a lil early. I have been all around Houston today just seeing if I would get an LTE connection, and nothing. But I did get eHRPD or whatever it is and still have that here at home. Its the first my phone has ever gotten that. Don't really know what it meansthough.

  9. I wonder if its safe to say these towers are open for real this time and not that they will be on and off until the 15th.

Also, I wonder if towers are coming on in all the other markets

i wonder this as well. im in Houston and have not had any LTE at all today. hopefully i get it soon though

I appear to be jumping around 4 towers (labeled 1875, 2658, 2659, and 5729 in netmonitor) . They must be working on them tonight as I have a stronger signal than I've had in the past, but the actual performance is all over the board and mostly bad.

I took some screenshots from netmonitor. There are more than I could attach to this post, so I attached the map and details of the tower I connect to the most and a link to the others pics. Please let me know if the link doesn't work, or if this isn't the info you are looking for.

So let me ask this question since I don't know the answer to this

Since your phone is jumping from tower to tower, let's say only one is an lte tower, will ur phone connect to the lte tower and stay on that tower or will it still be jumping around to the other towers as well?

Anyone who has an answer to this question, I thank in advance.

My phone also jumps between 3 towers and only one is a NV tower with lte, so I'd Luke to know what to expect once the 15th comes around
