Isn't South Laredo in Mexico?
Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
LOL
There are parts of the city that are along the river bank, not IN Mexico
-
work. lol
I concur...

I was driving down SanBer at Laredo and I got LTE in some parts.
Yeah i heard that south laredo is getting great LTE reception
-
Kinda quiet..any new updates?

Seems to be a problem with the 4G rollout. Haven't received a call or txt in 2 days. I live and work on the fringes of the "active" 4G towers according to Sensorly. I parked near the tower for 10 minutes today and was able to send and receive calls with a solid 4G signal. Sprint says they have no information on the 4G upgrade. It's not the phone that's for sure. Thanks for the response. Tried everything already. (##7#)
Sorry i couldn't help you any more than that. At least you don't need to buy a new phone.

Most of our In Progress sites on the maps come from member reports. To report a site In Progress, go to this thread: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3369-report-in-progress-sites-here/
Thanks!

Needs password. Second, is LTE really slow upon deployment?
-
Are there any other towers in progress besides the one at 83 and palo blanco st?
-
I am in corpus.. the lte looked headed towards my streets, but then headed in another direction. it looks to be headed from the south up towards me. So reading the site, they might be working on a lot of diffect places all (in the south market.) they just arent telling us.. then when it's on it's on. (im near weber/ saratoga). so who knows. maybe they are working on laredo and cc as we speak. who knows..maybe tomorrow we'll wake up and BAM!
BAM!

Is anyone else having signal issues today? I have not been able to recieve or send txts or calls all day. It seemed to begin this am at work. I was getting a 4G signal at NAS Corpus Christi. Then after that, signal would alternate from 3G with signal, to roaming and eventually circle with line through it. Still like that now at home. Just throwing it out there to see if anyone else is experiencing issues. Could be 4G related. Sorry if this is not the correct venue to ask.
Powercycle, remove battery. Update PRLs..sorry that's what comes to mind

One of those RRUs is for 800. No 800 in your market due to proximity to the Mexican border. No 800, no 800 RRU.
Same thing.
Ahh! Thanks for making me wiser
-
Yes, you will have LTE. Not sure how that would cause a backhaul problem. Every site is getting new backhaul that meets NV standards.
I don't know what you're asking here either. The number of towers does not affect anything. All towers are getting the same treatment.
My bad. My question is, any insight as to why Sprint would use fewer RRUs here than in other markets? Also, what's the difference in 800 SMR 1x vs 800 1x?
-
Actually, I may have to backtrack. In your region, Sprint will not be depoying 800 SMR 1x. I believe that one of the RRUs installed behind the panels is for 800 1x. In your area, they may not be installing this RRU, or using the 800 SMR section of the panel.
We have not seen an example of this in an Ericsson market, but it's possible that Sprint setups in your area may only have 2 RRUs, with only 4 cables attached. Be on the lookout for new equipment, and snap some pictures so we can see what setup they are using there.
The nerd in me wants to understand..so we will have fewer RRUs, but still have LTE. Will it create a backhaul problem? Also, does this have anything to do with the number of towers we have in the city? (15 total i believe)
-
In your market they will have 3-4 RRUs attached behind or near the panel with the 6 cables.
Thanks for clarification!
-
Ok just to be clear..Sprint's NV sites will have 2 or more RRUs attached to a single panel, plus 6 cables connected to the front of the panel blocking the tilting motors in the back?

The tower at 83/Palo Blanco is showing in progress. Hopefully, they'll light it up soon.
Nice..even though it's kinda far from my daily commute. Good to hear we're in progress!

lol such an optimist, but yeah i agree it would be awesome waking up one morning and BAM! LTE next to Sprint

lol@juant I heard it takes 3 weeks to complete a tower..so hopefully in a month we'll be covered.
I'm in laredo, work is right behind you all

That awkward moment when you see purple in your city only to zoom in and realize it's your airport...fml x|

Quick update:
Laredo is now live with eHRPD ...don't know how far behind I am on this, but about 2 months ago I know that we were still on EVDO Rev A.
-
Nope. The news is much better than that. Work has started all over the South Texas market, including CC. There will be live LTE sites in your area long before the RGV is complete.

It's awesome that the RGV is getting 4G pretty soon, but so far we haven't heard a bleep about the work in Laredo TX. Is Laredo part of this deployment, or is this just in the Mission, McAllen, CC, Harlingen, Edingburg, etc area?
It's getting harder to not look at other providers, when even Cricket Wireless has 4g LTE here and we don't :/

My apologies. The file size was too big. Go figure!
Speedtest.net App
Ping = 1632ms
Download = 0.07Mbps
Upload = 0.15Mbps
Where was this taken?
I just ran a test and this is what i get in laredo (off peak hours):
Download: 1.29 mbps
Upload: 0.67 mbps
Ping: 195 ms
sucks that iphones don't tell you the network type, but i know we're running on EVDO REV:A8
