  1. So if the tower at Stough & 49 isn't pointed towards Harrisburg (Roberta/ Pitts School road area), are there any plans for increased coverage in this area? The tower at 29 & pitts school doesn't seem to cover the area or the one at Stough & 49, both of these towers are in the vicinity, but don't seem to be pointed in direction to cover these areas. Kind of crazy considering that there are a lot of big neighborhoods in the area and a large high school.

I have only be able to identify two NV panels on that tower. One pointed in an easterly direction and the other in a southerly. I tried to go near take a few pics but a county deputy shooed me away. It's likely the other panel is on another structure but I could not figure out where.

Areas west and southwest of Stough have seen little to no impact since that tower went live. Once you travel past the entrance to Frank Liske park the signal drops from -82 to -109. And it goes in and out from there. It could be the tilt on that panel 10+ degrees

  2. So did anything magical happen to your coverage other than being put up on the sprint map?

Well a few days later.... Stough rd and hwy 49 in Harrisburg is alive. Crews are installing what looks like NV panels and RRU @ hwy 49 and Morehead rd and near Rocky river rd & Lower rocky river rd

  3. I know that there is a tower at 29 & pitts school road broadcasting 4g lte. I live off of pitts school in a neighborhood across the street from Robinson High school (prob a 1-2 miles from intersection). I am able to get a full signal at the intersection of 29 and pitts school road, but get nothing at my house (had to order an AIRAVE). Just curious any thoughts why in my neighborhood I get nothing? I am wondering if the landfill on pitts school is playing a role or if the tower is broadcasting the signal in a certain direction? Thanks so much for the help Guys!

Crews are currently working on the tower near hwy 49 and Strough. You should observe new panels on that tower. I also took pictures of the same crew installing NV panels @ rocky river / i-485 & plz ext.

  4. I just tried to map down Hwy 200 from 601 today and the tower at the Concord Speedway must be aimed nowhere NEAR Locust because the 4G didn't even make it halfway to Mt. Pleasant Rd...

I don't think that tower is broadcasting...or it may just be a repeater...... A month ago I was on Flowes store rd E (1/4 mile south of that tower) and got LTE on my wife's Iphone 5. Since then I've not been able to pick up LTE. The same for the tower on Plaza rd ext and I-485 / rocky river rd.

  5. Oh snap, 4G just lit up at the house today! I got home and cycled airplane mode around 3 to no avail. About 4-4:15, I look down at my phone JUST as the wifi blips off and 4G appears! :tu: The RSRP is hanging around the -110 to -115 neighborhood, give or take, so it's not hanging on by much, but I'm still pulling about 5-6Mb down with that, which is impressive for that weak of a signal. I'll get out and map some tonight or tomorrow on Sensorly and see which tower it is.

EDIT: Looks like someone's been busy mapping Kannapolis already. I wonder if the Alcatel-Lucent contractors are doing that while testing. Looks like it's coming from the tower near Old Concord-Salisbury and Lane St. That should light up I-85 in the area pretty well, since it's right in a bend of the interstate.

I drove from Albemarle to Salisbury via Hwy 52 and to Kannapolis yesterday. We had LTE coverage for over 75% of the trip. My kids were able to stream Netflix until we hit Salisbury. I mapped hwy 52 and some parts of Kannapolis.

  6. If only that were true... I do have TEP and when I went and got my phone replaced a week ago roughly 10 people (no exaggeration) told me that the S3 was not an option.

My daughter's Evo 4g LTE has problems holding on to LTE service in the Charlotte. After three exchanges I requested an S3, being a former employee (and still on an employee plan - as part of my seperation agreement) I got no where for months until I went to the store @ w t harris and tryon. A tech reviewed my history and got customer care to send me an S3.

We own two properties on Rocky River rd, one in Cabarrus county near robinson church rd and other in Charlotte near Reedy creek park. My younger daughter's Iphone 5 gets sprint LTE signal near Milllen rd / rocky river rd, but the the two previous evo did not. The evo would switch to lte for about a second and then swith back to 3g

  7. Charlotte is sure filling up.On my trip to Asheville this weekend I had lte all the way to Kings mountain. Then just west and east of Shelby (Mapped on sensorly). I picked up lte on 74A west of Lake lure and in Fairview (sadly i forgot to run sensorly)

  8. I picked up a signal @ the Biglots on hwy 29 today and on Union cemetery rd on my way back to Charlotte. I believe the tower is between poplar tent and weddington

I was driving down George Liles Pkwy on the way to church this morning, looked at my phone and saw 4G! :D I took about 15 minutes afterwards to map George Liles, some of the Laurel Park neighborhood (runs between George Liles / Old Speedway Dr / Poplar Tent), Rock Hill Church Rd, and even a little on Hwy 29 out in front of the Arby's where it just barely reached.

I'm 95% percent sure the tower that's broadcasting is at the end of Old Speedway Dr. and I've attached a picture of it, since I went right by it. Can anyone tell which ones are Sprint's? I'm thinking they're the bottom ones, but I'm not sure.

The speeds are GREAT! I was getting over 22Mbps off George Liles and in Laurel Park! :tu:

I checked permitting again on Cabarrus County's website, but I still don't see anything really recent.
