  1. The last update I received was months ago. I'm able to actually connect to LTE without cycling airplane mode.

Well, there is a new update that started getting pushed out over a week ago. We aren't getting 4.3, but supposedly it's a minor update that sounds like it will be beneficial. I want to update so i can root with the last update this phone will ever see.

  2. For anyone who doesn't want to wait, you can always go to verizon for two years, and when the contract is up, come back to Sprint and hopefully they will have everything finished by then. 2016 seems about right, since the original word was Jacksonville would be at least 50% complete by fall of 2012. I'm due July of next year. I will need a fully completed LTE rollout with no black holes in the popular areas of town to consider staying. The little LtE ive experienced was great; i just need consistency.

  3. Well, by the time my upgrade comes Jan 1st the city should be blanketed with 1900 LTE. Sprint should be rolling out 800 and 2500 LTE service and I'll be a happy camper with unlimited LTE citywide. Once NV work is done for 1900. 800 should be a breeze and I believe that 2500 requires an additional panel and base station card. By this time next year we should be in good shape.

The problem for me is i was not under contract when i renewed in 2012 based on assertions that LTE would be at least 50% complete by November 2012 and finished by spring of 2013. Now the ETA is summer of 2014 when i am up for renewal. So I will have spent two years with no LTE on my phone. Unlimited data is worthless if the only time i can stream any data at all is on wifi. I really hope my neighborhood is covered soon... as in, within the next couple months. I will pay more for faster, consistent LTE.

  4. I live in the same area. Other parts of Jax show up on sensorly but there seems to be a black hole in the rectangle between beach and atlantic and hodges and st. johns bluff. I use wifi at home. My girlfriend uses her AT&T network instead of wifi when she is over because their lte is often faster than my wifi here. The town center shopping area is awful, too. I will say that the Sprint LTE that i picked up while at RAM downtown was pretty awesome. I hope it makes its way to this black hole I live in soon... TONS of homes in this area that will benefit.

  5. Let's hear about updates on the Southside! Town Center, JTB, beach blvd, kernan, st. johns bluff, etc. Lots of homes in this area and no sensorly results. It is like a big black hole for LTE... funny thing is, Sprint has a busy store in the town center and even the 3G there is really poor. Is Sprint just updating existing towers or are they adding new towers in certain areas, too?

  6. I really hope the St. Johns Town Center area gets hooked up soon. For such a busy area, it seems like an ideal spot to have a tower. Right now i really don't even get 3G there, and MMS doesn't work, either. I'm stuck waiting for full rollout so i can update my EVO with whatever update HTC issues to correct the LTE connectivity problems that plague my phone, and then root it right after that. Dont want to root until I am sure i can pick up LTE just like everyone else.

  7. I'm getting to the point of being upset at how long this is taking. I bought this phone along with a new 2 year contract based in LTE being rolled out in Jacksonville in November, which was the original estimate for 50% completion. Here we are in January, and the rollout is nowhere near that level. What towers are live are on the fringes of town. I just regret renewing. I could have switched to AT&T and had awesome data speeds immediately. Now I am stuck in my contract with an embarrassingly slow 3G connection on which under even the best circumstances i cannot stream video or get a signal in my office. Meanwhile, my friends stream HD movies in the same office without a problem. Do i really have to wait untio the end of the year to get LTE in the central areas of Jacksonville?
