  1. Yeah, there would certainly be pushback against an actual tower over there, and Madison has very stringent requirements for towers, but you'd think something could get integrated into a rooftop. I know three different people who dropped sprint because coverage is so weak in that neighborhood, and when I visit them, I really can't argue against them - the coverage is terrible.
  2. Poor to terrible. Coverage all over near Trader Joe's is poor. It has improved slightly with NV - you can now actually get a weak sprint signal indoors, but that area is terrible. I roam on my N5 inside TJ's and battery drops like crazy at a friend's home at Keyes and Prospect (>20%/hour). Two people I know in that area have Airrave units. I doubt you will get LTE indoors. Why Sprint doesn't have another tower over there is beyond me - it would help cover the stadium and campus, it is one of the city's nicest and wealthiest neighborhoods, and it is a dense area. A tower on top of TJ's would do wonders for the near east side. Kevin
  3. Thanks for the Airave update. I am aware of the Easy Pay and will think about it, but it isn't as sweet a deal of if I had been able to get my upgrade last week and then switch to Framily with the $15 fee waved!
  4. So if I currently have a no-charge Airave due to poor home service, that could be retained under the Framily plan? Also, being two weeks shy of my upgrade, I'm pretty disappointed in the timing of this for purely selfish reasons! Kevin
  5. It is crazy... I have now experienced 800 in three separate markets (Madison, Chicago, South Bend, IN) and in all three 800 voice was unusable on both an S3 and an EVO LTE. The signal is much better, but voice quality is literally unusable. I'm hoping things improve...
  6. Thanks for your replies mmark27. A few more things to note: I am aware of how close to existing towers we are - there is an odd dead zone right near Lapham School on the near east side. Odd because there are mutiple nearby towers, and odd because things are pretty flat. Sprint's map shows signal going from "Excellent" to "good" around my house, but I would say more accurate is going from "mediocre" to "spotty within nothing indoors." It is werird. All of our PRLs are updated. Signal check info is attached. I haven't shut down the Airave as we do sometimes connect to it, and it provides much better coverage. I also haven't gotten too upset about this yes as I am aware that the network is still in the works, and things will hopefully improve. Trying to explain that to my non-techie wife who can no longer use her phone as a phone hasn't gone well though. Hopefully things start to improve over the next couple of weeks. Thanks again for your comments
  7. Long time lurker, first time poster.... Is anyone having issues with 800 voice quality in Madison? I've been very excited for 800 to roll out downtown, but now that it has, I wish it hadn't. We live in a dead zone near Mifflin & Ingersoll on the isthmus and have had an airave that has worked well. Our phones now pick up 800 over the airave, even when right next to the unit. I thought this would be great, but unfortunately the voice quality is unusable - people can hear us fine, but they come through totally scratchy and garbled on both an Evo LTE and an S3. This is with -100 or so 800 service. I have the same issue at my office on the Square with a signal around -70 - voice quality is so bad you cannot understand the other party. Anyone else having these issues? Any chance it will improve or any way to get my airave to overrule the 800? Thanks for any comments!
