  1. Not sure about elsewhere in our market but Madison data speeds have really hit the skids. Been this way for a few weeks now. Still usable but quite slow. Rarely see above 5 down anymore.

Yep, same thing happened in La Crosse, and has nothing has been done about it no matter how many times I call to complain about it. 3G is faster at my work than 4G has been lately.

i have called Sprint to report lower/slower speeds than I used to get in the same exact location and they don't do anything about it because they don't see a problem.

  2. Anyone around the La Crosse, WI area having issues with no 4G data? Phone says it's connected but will not load any data. A call to Sprint to report the problem resulted in me being told that they can't open a trouble ticket on it because my line comes up as an "employee" line. The only reason it shows up as an employee line is because I am on a referral plan of my buddies. I still pay $$$$ to have monthly service, why should I be treated any different? I'm still a paying customer.

  3. Well, for what it's worth, service has been a bit more consistent downtown lately. I'd previously been unable to do any speed tests more often than not. The vast majority of them would fail entirely.

It feels like over the past few days or so I've actually been able to do a few and get some okay speeds. Pings have ranged anywhere from maybe 160-400ms and speeds have been between 15-40KB/s down. It's not stellar, but it's been better, if only slightly.

Of course, just as I write this, a speed test just came up with 3700 ms ping, 0.2 KB/s download speeds, and oddly ~83 KB/s upload. Another one right after: 4500 ms ping, 11.2 KB/s download, 0 KB/s upload. Not even kidding, just 2 minutes before these, I got 370 ms ping, 39.5 KB/s download, and 2 KB/s upload. On the bright side of things, the tests succeeded rather than completely timing out. So more tests have been succeeding lately.

I hope that theory about tower work being done and Sprint waiting to turn them all on simultaneously is true. The relief will then at least be all at once as opposed to gradual, which may actually be a better thing from an overall experience standpoint (as opposed to being slowly teased with a slow increase to better service).

If everyone would quit running speedtests and hogging bandwidth all day by attempting to run speed tests, the speed would increase.

  4.

I am hoping that my information is helpful, and would like to ask someone that has access to this sites deeper info, weather or not any of these sites mentioned are showing any progress in the 4g area. I would also be curious as to how many Sprint owned sites are actually in this area? Am I wrong to assume a majority of the site in these rural areas are 3rd party owned and Sprint uses them. I cannot find any good specific information about Sprint tower locations on this side of town. Most listed on the Antenna Database website are not showing Sprints name attached to them even though I know Sprint has a presence on them. I am also assuming that Sprint uses some of the towers in this area along with other carriers, but maybe I am incorrect about that too. Please feel free to lay any info you can on me, I am anxiously awaiting my phone to say 4g connected in my own home and tromping grounds in this general area. I had the 4g tease on the way home along  I-94 last week, and most recently the South Side of Waukesha along 164-59 and I have been amazed at times. Thanks for your time....

  5. I was at the brewers game yesterday and was getting really good performance before, during, and after the game. No issues what so ever. It was nice for once.

Any ideas that the issue is with the Loomis Rd & 894 tower? That thing has been marked at accepted for weeks with no Sensorly LTE mapping yet.

Wow, service was awesome at Miller Park (and the good guys won). Also, I was detecting 1x800 at Cottage Grove / Waterloo tower on my way back into Madison.

I was at the Brewers game on the 18th as well. Speedtest results were over 15M down. I was able to text and use data while tailgating and during the game. Both were things I was NOT able to do when I was there in April before the upgrade was complete.  My phone at that time, would not even send or receive a text message, the data was unusable and the battery drained just about completely out during the game because it kept searching for signal.

The upgrade there is pretty sweet.

  6. ......Too bad it doesnt work at Miller Park. You get a strong signal but absolutely no bandwidth. I was at the game the other day and texts were not even going through.

Same deal here when I was there this last Saturday the 20th. I had full bars but couldn't use data and texts were really delayed. I didn't get a text from 6pm until I was walking back to bus after the game.

I have been in Milwaukee the last 2 weekends though and have seen what appears to be shiny new white panels on towers in multiple places. I have also seen work equipment at sites, as well as guys up on towers.
