  1. I got stuck on I4 and I had no voice or data service. I've had the last straw with Sprint. I've been with them for over 12 years. AT&T launch 25+ new market every two weeks. They launch 35 new markets today and have had LTE in Orlando since January of 2012

Maybe in two years I'm come back.

  2. Probably so they can pay a little less subsidy. That is the general direction carriers want to go, and the S4 will likely be popular enough that they can get away with it.

I'm guessing the next iPhone will be the same. That suck pay more for a phone you cant use to it's full potential.

  3. Is the tower by the mall live? I didn't think it was up yet, but havent been that way in a little

no not let but I pick up LTE at the mall all the time, its usually last about 30 second. And when I get off I4 I get it on the ramp by the mall. I think i could happened soon.

  4. FYI-got an Lte signal and mapped along the lakefront in Sanford from French Ave to near the zoo.

I think it must be a tower near the mall because my service has been sucking really bad in that area. And I don't think it's from the Sanford tower cause it seem like the antennas and point towards lake cause I live 2 miles east of it and can't get any LTE. But if u go two west towards Lake Mary Blvd u still get LTE

  5. Yes, that was one of the roadways I was referencing, and it appeared they were laying east. I am told the tower near Beardall and Celery is used by Sprint. The cable appeared likely to be headed in the direction of the tower and I took that as a good sign. However, I was unable to get close to that facility to confirm.

Not sure about a tower on Beardall and Celery. On sprint website the closet tower is on 17-92 and 13 st. No matter what I can't wait

  6. From what I have been seeing the back haul should be complete, or near completion, from north International Dr all the way to Disney World, up to the Winter Garden and Windermere Areas to 192. Almost every highway in this area is having fiber optic line laid. I have really been amazed by the number of crews and miles of flags and new markers I have seen pop-up. Then I began checking numerous cellsites and noticed evidence of recent fiber cable being laid. Recently, I was in Sanford and Orange City and observed similar work being complete there too. 4 lte has to follow soon!

Thanks. What part of Sanford did you see the crew working. Cause Iive off celery ave and for a couple of day there was a crew laying orange wires. And somebody told me those are fiber cable. But I didn't know if it was for sprint cause the nearest tower is about 2 miles away from my home. I though it might have been AT&T laying cables for U-verse

Low backhaul means poor data speeds because there is not enough bandwidth. They increase bandwidth by converting from T1 lines to fiber optic, which is like going from original DSL to Roadrunner turbo/lightning. In fact, many carriers are using the fiber optic networks owned by cable companies to increase their backhaul so that customers can get higher speeds during peak times.

Thank you. I see at of tower with LTE equipment but no Service. Now I understand

  8. Hello everyone!! I'm recently new here, but I've been following this topic for quite some time now. I've been keeping a close eye to Kmshadoze's posts since I live in Lake Mary as well. I'm on the west side of town right next to I-4. I live very close to the Lake Emma Rd/I-4 tower (about a mile away) and luckily, I got to speak to one of the operators around 5pm today (I think their company name was "Western Towers" or something like that I didn't look at their logo). I asked him, "Is this a Sprint tower you're working on?" he said, "Yeah we just got clearance to work on this tower and install 4G" (I knew there was a birds nest up there so they needed to get approval). To cut the story short, he told me some good news and some bad news. The good news is installation will be done at least by Friday or by Monday. The bad news is that LTE won't be turned on till the middle of next month, he told me I have to wait till the Samsung or Ericsson vendors to come out and inspect it, but it could be before then. Once everything goes through, they'll switch it on........ At least it's not JULY now so it's ok, I can wait a little longer. Until then I cant wait, I will post speed tests once they turn it on. I drive around Orlando a lot as well and will track new areas with LTE via Sensorly if it hasn't been discovered yet.

Thanks cant wait till Lake Mary gets it

  9. Have a feeling another tower in Sanford went live. I walked outside and had really good 4G, usually only 1 bar, or 4 bars 3g (depending on tower I connect too) but had full LTE bars and got a 25mbs down speed test. going to try and go to tower site I believe it is and look (by Seminole Courthouse on 17-92 in Sanford)

That Sanford tower was schedule for two data speed upgrades. I might have received its second one

  10. Did a speed test by the Seminole County Courthouse this morning, and got VERY good speeds. 17mb up/ 6.5 down. Its still a good distant from that Sanford Ave. tower, so I am guessing the tower is HUGE like the Oviedo one. Also mapped about 200 points of LTE in the Sanford/Lake Mary area.
