I wonder if that tower got turned on. I'll need to head back over there, when I was there last week, it was only 3G.
It has to of been turned on b/c i normally don't have 4G in that area on my way to work and now i pick it up for quite a few miles on I-96 going East

Anybody on the southwest side of Lansing or maybe Diamondale with a quality camera? I need a HQ pic of the top rack of the Tower on between Lansing Rd and Billwood Hwy near the State of Michigan Secondary complex. You can get close to the tower off from Lansing Rd, turning right/north into an old Home builders lot just before News Rd.
I believe this tower has new NV antennas and Samsung RRUs, but the picture from my Note 2 is way too grainy when I zoom in. I need optical zoom, not digital zoom. You may be able to get close to the tower via Billwood Hwy, but the access road appears to be the end of a private driveway, just past the Lake Trust Credit Union.
I was able to do a little mapping of the 4G LTE near this location yesterday on sensorly. Most of my commute from the Potterville to South Lansing area is now almost entirely 4G. Now just need to get more Lansing towers turned on and we'll be all set.

We had some problems in Potterville over the weekend with our 4G. It was showing we had 4G but on Saturday you couldn't actually use data at all while being connected to 4G. You could see that no incoming data was coming in. Was really strange but started working again mid yesterday. No compliants, just found it a little odd that it would just stop working like that. Seems super fast though!

I had an LTE connection today while leaving work downtown Lansing and maintained it westward on I-496 nearly until the Waverly Rd exit. Got a bit better than 7.5 mbps down. Good thing to look forward to, can't wait til I can get that at home.
Yea thats from the tower on MLK and Holmes. I was downtown last week also and got the signal. It is nice to finally have it in the area. I just got it at my house in Potterville this weekend and my download speed is great than 20Mbps. Probably because I'm one of the only ones connected to it.

Looks like my sensorly is finally starting to work correctly, it had data to upload and it shows it sending so that's good and now it's even picking up my 3g again too. I see people on the map for my area now.

It's still not showing my upload to sensorly and I took at least 5 separate readings. Hmmmm

I ran sensorly today when I went down to rain rapids and back but for some reason I don't think it's mapping for me. I can see it hit data points in 4g but it doesn't show any 3g mapping at all. Wondering if it's something to do with my app. It has to be the tower between Charlotte and potterville.

I live in Potterville, southwest of Lansing and today when I turned on my phone we have 4G! Pretty strong signal with a 10mb download. So stoked right now.

So on my way home from work in south Lansing, I drive I-96 west to i-69 south and in i-96 I picked up 4g around the Lansing road exit and lasted until I was near the GM plant off i-69 south in delta township. It's a first in that area for me.

I'm going to guess that is a fluke signal from the MLK/Holmes tower. I'm surprised that there is nothing for Charlotte on the map, they have had a 4g only tower for a few weeks now.
I live in Potterville just north of Charlotte and haven't noticed any 4G in Charlotte when I've been down there. I will check again when i go there again also.

I live in that direction and will be driving over there after work, I'll check it out.
Edit in: You talking Creyts Rd and 496?
That and just to the west of the 96/69 splitoff going down towards charlotte there is a purple spot too (By the GM Plant) and up by the Lansing Mall.

According to my sensorly app it looks as if there is LTE on the west side of Lansing (Delta Township). I don't think its from the tower on MLK and Holmes, seems too far away from there. Might have to take a stroll up that way later and see if its true.
-
Finally get LTE and I can't do any Sensorly mapping due to a GPS bug in my current CM ROM...
I hear you, i had sensorly working great and then my phone started having some glitches so i reinstalled the same ROM and now all of a sudden i can't map on sensorly anymore.

I'm in South Lansing off Jolly and Cedar and i picked it up on my way into work on MLK but as soon as i got over to Cedar and Jolly I lost it again. Its just good to know they are working in the area. Now to get the tower off Penn upgraded and I'll be set while I'm at work.

Make a donation to the site to see the sponsor maps with much greater detail on tower locations and what is completed vs. in progress
Where do you donate at on this site? Looked earlier and nothing came up.

I feel I owe the Lansing/West Michigan peeps an apology, there are no in progress towers in Lansing that I can find. The tower identified lay week is not sprint nv upgrades, but at&t lte upgrades.
I got some good panel pictures and had digiblur take a look at them. I'm not sure why the tech I spoke with told me they were doing sprint work...
Sorry, I've asked Robert to remove the marker.

Don't need to apoligize here, last week i assumed there was something going on b/c i was getting anywhere from 1-2mbps in south lansing. Now its pretty much back to normal running around 500kbps max. Kinda disappointed nothing has been done in the area yet.

I agree that there has to be something wrong with the tower to be getting anything under 200kbps. On the West Side of Lansing (Delta Township) I can't even usually get 100kbps so basically my phone is useless unless i'm making a phone call.
-
The strange thing is that earlier in South Lansing I was pulling down 1.8 mbps and now its hitting a max of 300 kbps. Would it be that they are testing or was it just sheer luck that i would get the 1.8 mbps? I really can't wait for the network upgrade to be completed in this area.
-
I'm currently in the South part of Lansing and our speed here has dramatically increased. Last month my speedtest upload was around 300-400 kbps and today its coming in at 1.8 mbps which seems almost super speed compared to what we used to get here. Hoping it only goes up from here. At least maybe there is hope!

Really Hoping they get the tower in South Lansing off Pennsylvania going. Its the tower i connect to while at work and would be awesome if it finally got 4G. The 3G is pretty slow.
