Just got off the phone with Sprint today. Have been experiencing dropped calls, been roaming while at home, and having no service. Got told that they started working on the tower near my house on 8/27 and will be completed 9/3. This is for the Allentown Area. I wanna do a drive by of the tower to see if they have done any work. Also got told I'll be compensated. What kind of compensation???

How are 3G speeds there? Has Allentown gotten any NV upgrades aside from LTE?
Where Lehigh Street and 78 intersect is a complete Sprint dead zone. Not that there isn't any signal, because there is, but I think it's so congested from highway traffic the network is 100% unusable. Can't even run speedtests usually. The network gets better once I hit Emmaus, or go the opposite direction towards downtown Allentown.
My 3G speeds increased quite a lot over the past couple days. I just did a speedtest from my house and got 1.31mbps down and 1.96 up. Way better than the 0.16 down and 0.89 up i was getting the other day

There is a site live on 78 on top of the 4th St hill. Check sensorly.
Just tested this site today 5.11 mbps down and 3.98 up right next to the Salisbury Township Police Dept. This is great news that LTE is comming in the allentown area. I live 5 mins away from this area and waiting for LTE to light up!

The blip on sensorly in Hellertown now includes part of i78. Looks like another tower went live!

Is it odd that I some how feel very accomplished because the blip of LTE mapped on Sensorly in Hellertown is from me mapping it. I feel like its an achievement xD. But anyways i'm very glad things are moving along quickly. Im constantly checking my phone for a 4g indicator!

Hardly. Once I got back home and back in the 3g zone its super slow again. Waiting for the first 4G towers to go live in my area. (Salisbury/Allentown)

That's great. I know the antennas on top of the tall apartment building down near the police HQ in Hellertown were one of the first locations upgraded in the LV. Given how many other sites are already 3G upgraded, I think we'll be seeing the LTE footprint expand at a brisk pace. Definitely keep us posted!
I just mapped a good portion of 4g in Hellertown. I had managed to keep a 4g connection down Hickory Hill Road and lost 4g right before the intersection of Seidersville Road and 378.

I'm assuming you don't know this from personal experience.... lol
No sir. but I am glad to inform you that this post is written from Hellertown Pennsylvania where I am now experiencing sprint 4g speed 20.8 Mbps down and 11mbps up

Loving the excitement in this thread.
LTE lighting up here and there brings the same feeling of a new phone on launch day.

Waiting for LTE to arrive is like a teenage school girl waiting for her date to her first prom to arrive. ANXIOUS!

Your guess is as good as anyone elses at this point but I would have to believe it is very soon.
The anticipation is killing me. I do a lot of traveling to areas where LTE is already deployed and the speeds are amazing, when I get back to Allentown it just KILLS. Can't load youtube or pandora and internet pages take forever to load
-
Any ideas when Allentown area will start seeing LTE? The wait is killing me!
-
When are sites going to go live in the Allentown area!? I'm so on edge waiting!

I got the list of Philly accepted LTE sites this morning. I will try to post later this morning in the Sponsor section and update the maps.
In reading the Allentown 3G comments, my mind went to Billy Joel, "And we're living here in Allentown, for the Sprint 3G that we never found. Down in Philly-town they're surfing online, buying LTE phones, watching Sensorly lines..."

I hate to be a smartass but Billy Joel's song Allentown actually isn't about Allentown... Its about our neighboring town of Bethlehem. But anyway back on topic, speed tests in Allentown im only getting 0.29 mbps down and 0.66 mbps up
-
This is great news. Hopefully we'll see it popping up here in Allentown soon!
-
0.16 mbps down 1.00 mbps up in Allentown PA

Allentown had a data outage from Friday night through Sunday morning to follow the above posts. It appeared the entire cluster in Allentown proper was down.
I live in the Allentown suburbs right by Salisbury HIgh School and I didn't experience any data outages.
-
Can't wait to see LTE here in Allentown. Today I was experiencing loss of service and loss of 3g in areas where I would usually have good service and the times I did have 3g the speeds were really low.
-
Hopefully we start seeing some 4g in Allentown soon! I've been seeing a lot of improved 3g speeds over the past weeks

Last night I took a drive from Allentown to Harrisburg on the way I experienced on I-78 westbound at mile markers 7.5 and 7.3 a sudden drop of 3g which I assume is my phone attempting to connect to 4g but then it hangs and goes back to 3g. After merging onto I-81 southbound I still had 3g until we got into Harrisburg which then it finally connected to 4g which then I experienced speeds of up to 11mbps. On the way back I had full 4g connection until mile marker 69.7 on I-81 northbound. Back to 3g until between mile markers 7.3 and 7.5 on I-78 eastbound where I connected to 4g for a short time. After mile marker 7.5 it was back to 3g back to Allentown.

3G speeds in Allentown back down to a crappy .06~.2 mbps. When is Allentown expected to see 4G come live?
-
No it did not read 4g it read 3g but with improved speeds. Seeing even more increased speed now. most recent speed test done at 2:30am est 1/16/13 2.01mb/s

Anyone know officially when LTE 4G is supposed to be launched fully in Allentown? There are certain spots that I get 4G but its only real quick and it's constantly switching from 3G to 4G
