Anyone in the GB/Appleton area having issues in the last half hour? My wife and I both lost or 4g LTE connection and are getting roaming warnings.

Milwaukee and Madison are also having problems.

I just got it tonight as well. Now hopefully I'll be able to make and receive calls in our mobile home up north. I'll see this weekend.
-
I hear it on mine as well. I got mine on launch day.
-
Downloaded the update during my lunch and it seems to have fixed the LTE issue.
I was getting band 26 for a while, but it's fallen back to regular LTE. Actually the band 26 was a stronger signal than the non-band 26.
-
Mine just shows LTE (Sprint) in the notification menu, and in the app, System Shortcuts -> Debug/Engineering I get a message saying Debug/Engineering screens may not be available on this device".
-
Download signalcheck pro from. Our very own mikejeep.
Or dial *#0011# from the dialer to get to an enginerring screen.

I have SignalCheck Pro running, but from the screenshot, can't decipher the band. I was able to see I am on band 25 using the *#0011# method though.
-
Pardon the "newbie" question, but how do I determine what LTE band I am on?
-
What version of software are you on?
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
According to "About device", the Software version is G900PVPU1ANCB
I did notice though that I need to redo it when I go between work and home, so it's not a complete fix.
-
I was corresponding with @sprintcares via Twitter and they had me enter ##72786# to go into hands free activation and after a few restarts and system updates I got the LTE to stay.
Might work for some of you.

Thanks. I thought it was odd, but over all am satisfied with the phone.
Sprint did remove the Download Booster that would allow you to download over Wi-Fi and LTE at the same time.

Got the Galaxy S5 today and so far really like it.
I did notice in SignalCheck Pro I only get an LTE connection, no 1xRTT
Haven't tried to make a voice call yet, but did run a speed test and got 5-6 Mbps down and 3-5 Mbps up.
SC Pro no longer shows my tower though.

Looks like the tower in Tomahawk, WI just got updated to 4G. Can't wait until I get back up there to see if it helps my signal at the cottage which is northwest of Tomahawk.

Getting 4G at my work (Good Hope Rd & Appleton Ave. in Menomonee Falls) this morning. On my Galaxy S4 I got 6.24 down and 1.82 up. On my iPad Air I got 4.82 down and 0.56 up.
-
Anyone else in the Milwaukee/Menomonee Falls area having data problems today?
My eHRPD signal seems to go in and out all morning. The 1x800 is very strong though.
Maybe they're doing some work on the tower my signal is coming from.

I still have LTE at my house on the northwest side of Milwaukee (68th & Silver Spring) but only have 800 at work near Appleton Ave. & Good Hope Rd. In Menomonee Falls.

While I was at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, my phone would often get an LTE signal at night. Unfortunately I wasn't able to map anything with Sensorly but Signal Check Pro did indicate it was getting LTE.

If you are jailbroken, then check out Signal 2 in Cydia. Otherwise, no.

Unfortunately I am no jailbroken.
No, for wireless network diagnostics, your problem is that you have an iPad. You got Jobbed.

The quality of the apps on the iPad are much better than on Android. I have a wi-fi only Nexus 7, which I also like. I just wish iOS were a little more open.
-
I have a 64GB iPad 4 WiFi + Cellular and I know on Android there is the SignalCheck Pro app to determine your signal strength, etc. Is there any way to do this on the iPad?

Was on my way home from work last night with the LTE Discovery app running on my Galaxy S4 when it picked up LTE on Highway 145, near Carmen Ave. Here are the exact coordinates: 43.12308178, -88.01644458, which is about 1.5 miles from my home. So it is getting close I couldn't check in Sensorly.com tonight how close a 4G signal has been detected to my home, but last I checked it was just starting around 68th and Silver Spring.
Now, if I could just get the LTE by work, where I need it since we don't have wi-fi through out the whole building, I'll be a very happy Sprint user.

Be fair, that whole area has a cell blocking spell on it.
I used to run that area daily for work and never had a phone work right from any carrier. Something to do with not allowing towers in most areas, and lack of backhaul availability.

Yeah, I use Cellcom for "high speed" Internet when I am up there because I refuse to pay for satellite Internet and cable and DSL aren't available where our place is.
It is better than dial-up, but just barely

Do you work for Wells Fargo?? They've got a big building over there, the old Strong Funds building. I used to work there a few years back. As for your other questions. I'm far from an expert on this stuff, so I'm sure someone else will chime in. But yes, the closer the number is to 0, the better the signal is. The different technologies don't measure signal strength the same though. So eHRPD, 1XRTT, and WiFi will have different thresholds for a "good" signal. I don't think you'll ever see 1XRTT or eHRPD at -29 like your WiFi is. EVDO-A and eHRPD are similar, but eHRPD is the newer protocol that enables phones to switch from LTE to 3G smoothly without dropping connections real bad. So the whole Milwaukee market switched to eHRPD a few months ago. Alot of people report that their phones switch from eHRPD to EVDO. It happens to me every once in a while too. Then usually if you restart your phone or cycle airplane mode, it'll switch back to eHRPD. We all hope that means there is work going on near you, but I don't think anyone really knows exactly why it happens. FInally, just to make sure, 1XRTT is your "voice" signal, and the EVDO or eHRPD is your data connection. However, when you pick up 4g, it'll say LTE instead of eHRPD or EVDO. I explained the stuff the best I can. Did I miss anything people?
No, I work for FIS (fka Metavante) in the Woodland Prime office park.
Thank you for your explanation. Much appreciated.

Any news in the Tomahawk area as far as how the updates are going? We have a cottage in the Little Rice/Lake Nokomis area and reception is terrible. I have to stand in the middle of our driveway in order to even make a call and half the time I can hear the other party fine, but they can't hear me. Even texts are delayed in getting to my phone.

I've been with Sprint for over 4 years (got hooked by the unlimited data) and am looking forward to 4G LTE coming to the Milwaukee area. I don't really need it at home since I have Wi-Fi, but would love it by my work in Menomonee Falls near the intersection of Appleton and Good Hope. Does anyone know if there is work going on in that area?
I downloaded SignalCheck Pro to my Samsung Galaxy S4 and also Sensorly. How do I understand the RSSI? Are values closer to zero better? My 1xRTT is -87, eHRPD is -82 and Wi-Fi is -29.
Also curious about which is better EV-DO Rev A or eHPRD? Yesterday I switched the Preferred Network Mode from Automatic to LTE/CDMA which moved me from EV-DO Rev A to eHPRD, but then my speed tests were slower.
I just contributed to be able to see the Sponsor maps, so after work this evening I'll take a look at them.

Seems to be back up in Menomonee Falls, WI. Hopefully the rest of the state will also be back up.
