With all these mobile share value plans, double data promos, and rollover data, existing subscribers are being encouraged to use more data. My market was also a former cricKet CDMA area so those are also jumping into the network.

There was this one protection site in town that was in a different area and wouldn't reach my home. Because of that I gave my Atlas usb modem that I got 2 years ago to a family member who could receive signal from the protection site in their home since usage was very little and would be not be cost effective to use a home broadband service. A few days ago I got a call from them saying the internet wasn't working so I went over with my 803S and 4082 and as I feared, neither of those two could locate a Wimax signal. I don't know the exact date but the last usage shown was on Dec. 7th so somewhere between now and then the signal was lost.

Every now and then I visit the family ranch and use my mifi for internet and have noticed slow internet speeds. As a rural area I expected higher speeds. Signal seems to be good with the cell site down the road and readings can get down to -76.

Now there is a down 4 miles south that may be sharing the same site but have been unable to confirm if this is the case. Only way to be sure is by comparing the cell ID but haven't found that information in the web portal.

Might I have been looking in the wrong place? Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

I also connected to a B41 site in a B25 coverage hole and got mediocre speeds (8-9 Mbps). Probably the site's fault though there. The device was showing full bars after a reboot (vs. almost no signal before). Interestingly, my Karma hotspot delivered 12-13 Mbps off of the same site (Karma's firmware is better than the stock Clearwire FW, where I couldn't get past about 8.6 Mbps a year or two ago).

The plans from FreedomPop may be a better option for that situation but since the WiMax network will only last until the end of 2015 then I understand in wanting to select the mingle which is future proof and no need to spend money on another device later on.

I wish Sprint would offer the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 at least but by then the promotional price for the 2GB plan will have expired as well as the 25MB tablet plan becoming no longer available.
