  1. It looks like they are bringing 1x 800 online before the lte bump so there will not be handoff issues like what happened in Chicago.

Thats fine but with the 2000 prl on the Note IIs wont those devices still have issues till they turn 800 back on?

I just hope the 800mhz rollout is fast.

  2. You know...I would agree with that statement....just 2 years ago I had a usable signal. I could mow the grass and stream music. Now it seems everyone has a smartphone which brings that tower to its knees.

Folks with Att Verizon and even TMo that I know dont have these issues around there so im hoping LTE helps.

The problem is that one tower serves all of Kings Mills and the eastern part of Mason as well.

  3. Why don't you guys be smart enough to call sprint and complain? You can get stuff done all you need is multiple cases ?

I have called Sprint COUNTLESS times around the Kings Island area and on some months I get a $15 credit. Most of the time they try to say its me and I have to go through a giant laundry list as to why it isnt.

We ping off the Soak City tower and let me tell you during park hours ....forget it. You wont even get calls let alone data. 3500ms pings and 5kb down with 0 kb up. After hours data is still a joke but you will get phone calls

  4. I work behind the P&G building in Mason and today and I have an iPhone 5 and Sprint Hotspot and today my little hot spot was making some noises and rebooted when it came back it had 4g service on it. So I'm guessing that 4g/LTE is starting up in the area.

I believe thats the same tower I heard was having a lot of work done on it.

Im out of town till Friday or I would drive over there and fire up Sensorly......anyone want to do the honors?

  5. I see there is a little lte in Columbus!!!

Hopefully they go south before they go north  :ninja:

Seriously hoping LTE starts springing up soon in Cincinnati.   Sprint's signal has become so bad in parts of Cincinnati, specifically in the tri-county area and around Kings Island, that phone calls drop all the time.  That is even if you even get the call.  My wife and I are missing a LOT of calls, only getting the voicemails afterwards.

It's one thing to have worthless data but missing calls is getting ridiculious.  Really hoping that they add some capacity while they are upgrading the Kings Island area.  They have a tower right next to the water park but the capacity of that tower seems to not be able to handle busy days at the park.

If you live anywhere near that area in Mason, you might as well turn your phone off, it simply doesnt work during the day or on weekends while the park is open.

Smartphones must take up a tremendous amount of overhead on Sprints 3g network because even a year or two ago there were no issues like there are today.

  6. I heard that T-Mobile should start showing up in Cincinnati and Dayton in June/July and AT&T(for Dayton) in the more vague "summer" time frame. Looks like the Cincinnati and Dayton areas should have their choice of LTE carriers by the end of the year.

I'm still curious how T-Mobile is deploying LTE in Cincinnati. They don't seem to have enough bandwidth to share between LTE and HSPA+ on the AWS bands.

On the T-Mobile note, I am not sure how they plan on doing it either with Cincy Bell owning some of the spectrum here.  I tried T-Mobile's $30 plan 100min \ 5GB for a couple of months in Feb but the coverage wasnt consitant enough for me to keep them.  I figured I already have plenty of inconsistant bandwidth with Sprint so i decided to ride out the LTE upgrade (At least till Aug-Sept when my contract is up :) ).

When I had a good signal on T-Mobile I will say it was FAST.  Got 10-20Mb down easily.   Much better than the 3kb\sec I was getting the other day on Sprint.  The downfall on T-Mobile was if I walked inside a building it was just like WiMax on Sprint, no usable signal at all.

  7. Ok the towers I saw are right past blanchester exit, I believe that the exit number is 57. I don't know a lot about LTE towers but they don't seem to be complete. But like I said what do I know lol.

That rocks.  I plan on going over that way tomorrow actually.  If I can snap some pics i will.

  8. Anyone see new LTE towers on 275 after the eastgate exit headed north toward 75? They might be at&t towers but they are new. Sorry for not knowing the exit the towers are close to.

Dave can you give a more accurate location?  Thats almost a 20 mile stretch.   Were the towers before 71 like around the Loveland area?

The crazy thing is that it looks like Cincinnati is about to get some major LTE love from both T-Moble and Sprint soon.

The reason I ask on a more specific location is because I have to drive between 71 and 747 on 275 everyday.  I can try to take a look around if its in that stretch.

Im hoping LTE gets here soon.  Yesterday in the middle of the day I was getting a whopping 4kbps down with 3200ms ping times on 747.  Nothing like SPRINT SPEED!  :tu:

  9. Has anyone else noticed terrible service again in Cincinnati? I live in the Colerain area and work in St. Bernard. I am literally experiencing minutes of no service at all. It seems like this happened back in January also, then got slightly better, and now back to worthless.

Yes. going down 71 from 275 to the lateral I lost all signal then suddenly ..bam..full bars.

Something else. 71 north near duck creek and the lateral.. phone drops calls everytime recently. same thing on 75 south around Paddock.

Something is going on but who knows...the big Nextel shutdown is near so they could be prepping for that as well.

  10. I have a theory for LTE in Cincinnati and I hope my theory is totally wrong.

We have Wimax and I doubt that when LTE makes it here it wont be of the 1900 Mhz variety but rather of the 800 Mhz flavor.

I think that we will get 800 Mhz LTE shortly after IDEN is shut off next summer.

This also means the current batch of LTE devices wouldnt be able to use it anyway because they only can use the 1900 Mhz band.

I really hope im wrong but I think I own a device that will never see LTE in its lifetime while in the Cincinnati area.
