  1. Not 100% sure but I don't think so. If I'm not mistaken there should be two other panels associated with each if those panels. They would be the same height but thinner. I could be wrong tho

They were lifting pieces and parts up as I went past this morning--I'll try to snag another picture on my way home to see if there are any accompanying panels.

  2. Can anyone confirm whether or not the tower just off 480 and Transportation (north of the highway on the other side of the new OverDrive building) is a Sprint tower or not?

It looks like it is on the Sprint maps, but I figured someone on here would be able to tell me for sure.

If so, I've seen a van out working on the tower a few times.  If you tell me what to look for, I can tell you if 4G upgrades are going in.

  3. i was in the brookpark area and my 4g lte was working great but i get back on the eastside no 4g service so whats going on with that anyone have a idea of this b/s?

Simple, they can't turn it all on at the same time?  :-)

Be patient, it's actually spreading quickly, and there is some coverage on the east side (outside of down-town along 480).  I'm so close to it here at my office that I can almost taste it.

I with they'd hurry, but I'm sure they're not slacking off now because I see the signal spread just a little further weekly.

  4. *bump*

Any word/evidence of LTE moving east across Cleveland?  It's 2 minutes from my house right now, and that's driving me nuts, but it seems like they're doing the west-side suburbs first.  Looking at Sensorly, it seems like Brooklyn and North Olmsted are going to meet soon (LTE-signal-wise).

  5. The updated NV thread says the scheduled completion date for Cleveland is Q1, 2014.  Is this correct?  If so, that is some depressing bit of news.  I know they turn towers on a little at a time, but I was hoping for some 4G coverage in the next 1 to 3 months, not 8 to 11.

Any thoughts on that, oh mighty knowers of cellular things?

  6. I live in Parma (right near the mall), and work just off 480 East a little north of the 77 split (Garfield Heights). My home connection was up to around 1.4 to 1.8 Mbps, and now I get less than half that. At work, I get around 30 to 50 kbps (yeah, it's that bad).

Something is going on, because it's bouncing around like crazy.

  7. Aaaaand my speed has gone back to crap. I can barely use my phone at work, and my 3G connectivity is now cutting in and out.

I only report this because I hope it means they're working on the towers nearby. I find the activity being reported here encouraging.

Anyone have any idea when we can start seeing actual improvement?

  8. My speed has stabalized somewhat. My 3G is still slower than it was, but it's a whole lot less erratic. I'm still getting crap coverage at work (a little east of the 480//77 split), but as long as they upgrade soon, I'll survive.

They've really gotta upgrade soon though. :-) I'm going out of my mind having this slow connection after getting used to WiMax. I can't wait to have something even faster.

  9. Just to depress myself, I just did another speed test:

    Ping: 1414 ms

    Download: 44 kbps

    Upload: 23 kbps

Yeah, that's pretty freaking terrible. I'm also seeing a lot of dropped calls (at least, a lot more than I ever have with Sprint before). Maybe that's the Moto/Sammy handoff thing happening? The most common problem I'm having is that my phone won't ring, and I'll get voicemail from people that couldn't get a hold of me.

I REALLY don't want to go back to Verizon--heck, I don't want to switch at all, but this has been a painful month or so.

Also, I've been toggling my 3G radio on and off (Airplane mode to make it easy). When get back onto the 3G, my speed is usually vastly improved for a while (an hour or two). Weird, huh?

  10. I have no idea what the issue is in your specific instance. If it has lasted more than 24 hours, call Sprint and open up a ticket. Make sure you get the ticket number. If they don't open a ticket, then no one is going to go check on it.

Thanks for the suggestion Robert. I'll be calling them just as soon as I get off work. :-)

  11.

    Ummm, yeah. Dang auto correct.

Hahaha...but does that back-haul switch work account for the abysmal speeds I'm getting right now? I mean, I was all set to wait for LTE (as long as it didn't take too long), but I've gotta have usable 3G at the very least.

Also, thank you for the info--the knowledge accumulated on this forum never ceases to amaze me. :-)
