  1. Thanks for moving it Robert, as I obviously don't have the power to do so :)  I am still a staunch sprint junkie (and cell junkie as well, and was fortunate enough to earn Premier Status, so expect me to stick around!  I am not going anywhere when it comes to this site.  I love reading cell phone news, irregardless of carrier.  Thanks for the warm welcome, and this is HARDLY goodbye!  Sometimes you just have to go with the best carrier for what you need, and I needed to be able to make calls etc (volunteer firefighter) and sprint just wasn't cutting it out in the backwoods where I am sometimes.  So please dont think I am just popping in to say goodbye, far from it.  Thanks for all you S4GRUers do!

  2. I don't remember if I ever put up a little about myself, and it tells me I can't in the Welcome thread, so here goes.  HI I am jhtech, from Pennsylvania, and I was a Sprint addict.  While I will still be closely following the Sprint developments with S4GRU, and will continue to donate, I have moved (on) because it suits me better where I live (plus I saved over 15% by switching, yes that was a GEICO joke).  But don't worry I will still be reporting what I can when I can, and will be watching the towers around me for Sprint changes and upgrades.  Thanks, and I know this is random, hence why it went into General.

  3. Hi everyone,I've been debating tossing away a few scholarships to go after a degree in computer science. I was wondering if anyone who has this degree (or equivalent) would be willing to share the type of job they actually hold/what they do with it. The information about the programs offered at various colleges basically boil it down to IT/programming/other options. Yet I can't find the other options described anywhere :/. Just about any info you can give would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

I have a degree in Helpdesk Technology and Support, and I love it.  I stayed away from programming because I am a people person, and programming is too shut in a corner kind of thing for me.

  4. How does one become a contributing author?  I use a lot of sites on a daily basis and feel like this site could benefit from some of the news surrounding sprint devices etc.  I follow something like 15 sites on a daily basis and I feel like I could contribute by giving a summary or something of some of the more interesting news.  I know we are not a site for "reposts" but I feel like the community at large here would benefit from some of the knowledge being passed about in other news sites.  Is this something that meets the S4GRU standards?  Would this be of any use to us as a community?  I would like just like to see more news articles from the wide world of sprint "stuff" here and wasn't sure if it fits Robert's vision.  I figured this section would make the most sense as it is not really categorized for any of the others.  I am not trying to flame or degrade the posts we do have on the front page, I just think some more relevant news on a more regular basis might be nice.  I mean I know everyone is busy and that's why the articles tend to be few and far between, but I am simply offering a suggestion and asking if it would be appropriate?

  5. It takes a day or two. I am up to about 5000 data points bc I let it daily map it. It is so nice and fast. Generally as mentioned before, they usually work outward in, so it might be a while they still have to hit greensburg too. Come on out to latrobe sometime and give it a try lol.

WOW thats crazy!!!!! i just look at Sensorly it looks like they are going right down RT 30 from Latrobe to Greensburg then going to Irwin which is where im at,im hella jealous right now u guys got LTE..tho this is very very good...keep me posted love hearing about new coverage around me!!

i too also notice EHRPD is everywhere....i see u have a note 2 also...did the phone pick up the LTE on its own or did u have to do sumthing to make it look for the LTE coverage?

All I did was turn on cdma/lte. It did the rest on its own!

  7. Let us hope that this evolves into a consumer plan offering, too. Unlimited data served a purpose in the past, but now it has grown dangerous due to advancing device capabilities that invite abuse and, ironically, "limited" because people increasingly want to use their data across multiple devices.

Personally I hope they do similar to what AT&T did. They didn't make you move to shared data, just that it was an option. While they did eventually kill it off, I hope Sprint is in a position where they can have a best of both worlds option. That would be ideal. I love the idea of having unlimited because is I do go using it a fair amount (I never really use more than 5-10GB) its nice to know that for that month I am not paying out the wazoo for data (yes I keep my posts clean of language...)

  8. For those with GNote 2s...

I don't have mine on hand to verify/check this, but keep this in mind.

Personally not too worried about this. I mean you would have to lose your phone and the thief would have to be smart enough to know about this. Not a lot of people in this world follow things like we do. I am not as concenred. The Exynos exploit was a little scarier but not much...

  9. whenever primanti bros stops serving sandwiches with french fries on them

You do realize if you went to Primanti Bros in downtown and did that, the woman that runs the original store would have you thrown out on your bum? She is a Witchy woman! I have heard Tales!!!
