i really like WP8, is smooth, and make the work that i want it. i use it for business, but my personal phone is a Android. i think if anyone can and share how jailbreak WP8, maybe it will be more interesting...

thank god i work selling phones!!!! with sprint i have 5GB for $29.99, the only down-moment is when you buy the hot spot at full price, ouch!
-
I personally don't think MVNO's should have access to 800 CDMA. It should be reserved for all the loyal Sprint post paid customers. We pay a little more every month to enjoy premium services like this.
the HTC One SV & the GS3 on Boost Mobile are 1x800MHz capable, and the HTC Desire 601 & GS3 on Virgin Mobile too..

I just saw some picks of the alleged HTC M8, the successor to the HTC One, and that device looked beautiful.
i see it too. but is too early to specualte.

i'll buy the nexus 5 on the play store, cost $399 the 32gb version, plus come unlocked to gsm! i'll be nice switching the carriers on thesame phone, lol

some account executives told me that the uprades on USVI is running, any one with LTE up???

soem times in peak hours on metro area in PR, but is not a big deal.

if youre looking for best LTE reception, i think a Sprint Spark phone will be better for you.
LG G2
Galaxy S4 mini
Galaxy Mega
HTC One Max

im hoping to sprint expand coverage. for example, here im Puerto Rico, on the sprint map @ their site, appear full coverage of LTE on Canovanas, i work the outlet mall, and 1 part of the parking doesn't have LTE coverage. other example is on the center of the isalnd they don't have coverage. i hope when they have the 800 permisions, add more sites.

I agree that lower pings are desirable, but AT&T and Verizon's pings are similar to Sprint's. So where are we now? The three other companies' LTE is faster than Sprint's on a bandwidth level, and similar in ping. In fact, many of these test results for Sprint look like 3G speeds, save for the upload speed.
Back to my point, how does current average speed not correlate with future network speed (many more users on LTE wanting more bits)? After all, this is what we're talking about, right? Granted, Sprint's network is probably closer to starting than close to being finished, but I just can't see how the number of users per tower is going to go down in the future. Sprint needs a growth plan to survive, and they may be increasing their number of towers with LTE (admittedly by orders of magnitude) but so will the number of data-hungry LTE smartphones. It looks, to me, like Sprint's network is already getting full.
How, then, do we judge "capacity," (meaning how many users the network can support while maintaining a decent speed) if not for speed? What am I missing?
i prefer to have a 6-8 Mbps average with ulimited data with Sprint, that take 12 or 25Mbps and only i can use 3GB data limit without paying overage

On topic though, Verizon was able to deploy LTE rapidly by simply dropping in a base station with antenna panels for LTE, and plugging in upgraded backhaul. Since their deployment is using the 700mhz band, they are able to cover a wider area with less sites.
On the other hand, Sprint is deploying LTE while upgrading their core EVDO network as well. Instead of dropping in LTE sites randomly, they are upgrading all their sites so LTE will be running on the same towers as their EVDO (3G).
we need to remember that Verizon Have 3 Diferents antennas in the same site (LTE, 1x and EV-DO), sprint have everything in the same antenna (LTE, 1x and EV-DO). so its diferent the upgrades.
for example, Verizon will make a 1x upgrade, and the 3G and 4G is not affected. but if sprint make a upgrade to LTE, the 1x and the EV-DO will be affected

Is there a signal repeater that covers the Sprint LTE frequency available?
no yet!

Should I do speedtests of the site in Baton Rouge that gets 500 kbps / 100 kbps / 5000+ms pings at lunch time? At 7am it gets 12-14 megabit down no problem...gets slow during the day for some reason especially during lunch time.
its trafic time! the same @ PR

San Juan is still missing several towers. Looking at the map I would say it's about 70 percent completed. Pretty soon we're going to need to find something new to b**** and moan about.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 2
in old san juan, they will start to work sometime on the next week.
in Canovanas, they have more than 1 month that they said the same words: "WE'RE WORKING TO UPGRADE"

Why upgrade your 3G network to an expensive technology that virtually no one in the world is doing when you can upgrade your whole network to LTE? It would be a huge waste of money to upgrade to a new 3G technology as it's being phased out.
If Sprint has additional capex to burn, they need to spend it on a better LTE experience. Every dollar spent on upgrading 3G now is wasted.

good point. so, they will implement LTE @ the 800 in rural areas?

i understand a lot, but, how Sprint can compete with CDMA vs ATT or T-Mo HSPA+? for example, the HSPA+ is theoricaly up to 42Mbits/s in 2x2 MIMO, the EV-DO Rev. A up to 3.1Mbits/s. if they upgrade to EV-DO Rev.B theoricaly will be 14.7 Mbit/s, maybe if the can upgrade to 4xEV-DO Enhancements (34.4Mbits/s in 2x2 MIMO) they will compete with the HSPA+ in the areas that LTE will not deploy. and of course, if the antennas will be a 2x2 MIMO, the LTE will take a peak of 173 Mbits/s.

Same here in FW
its happens always in PR

i'm ok with the LTE speed on my house (2-4Mbps), but the 3G is on 1.5Mbps, so, with the updates of the NV and a lot of people are moving to the LTE signal, im fine with the 3G.

Read the article closely. This just seems like circular reasoning, as the article is quoting our speculation here at S4GRU.
AJ
thanks make me double check... i verify that on the FCC page, and yes... you're correct... Sprint will need to wait to deloy the 800MHz in PR/USVI

The metro area build feels like its taking ages
My phone has been really random. The clock has been changing on its own like crazy with incorrect time( I know it receives the current date and time from the tower) and when I set the time zone manually it still shows the incorrect time. I also believe the battery on my GS3 is toast, the phone is randomly powering off with a significant amount of juice left. I think I'll be visiting a sprint store soon...
it takes too long, they have varoius reasons:
1. they have more sites in metro than the rest of the island
2. in metro they have more calls, text and data trafic than the rest of the island
3. in metro we have more buildings, so more dificult to test and to oficcialise the updates
and many mores.
in Carolina, we have LTE (not officialy), and EHRPD, but i take the trujillo antenna, just appear the EHRPD and the data speed is awful...

Is anyone having dropped call issues this week at isla verde? Unusable service, dropped calls, missed calls people telling me that they can't get thru, late messaging... Is it the service or the phone (gs3) already resetted device to factory settings.
Anyone???
sprint is working on the antennas on carolina

Sprint in Puerto Rico is not apt to utilize SMR 800 MHz anytime soon because other licensees hold the spectrum.
AJ
Actually, the PR goverment agencies (Police, firefighters, etc) use the 800Mhz, they're moving to 700Mhz Digital band, thanks to the Digital Conversion, so they're freeing the band, and Sprint Have licenses for the 800Mhz. But USVI is restructuring the 800Mhz, so sprint need to wait...

There are still maintenance upgrades still occurring. On legacy and NV sites. The number of legacy sites getting maintenance upgrades will be steadily dwindling over the next few months.
However, NV sites will still be getting maintenance upgrades too. If a NV site sees voice or data growth, additional carriers may need to be added. And if the site needs to order additional backhaul from the supplier, it will probably be shown as a speed upgrade.

on this explanation, PR needs a lot of backhaul from samsung!!!

sprint needs to have more capaticy on PR! i remember about a year ago have 15Mb contantly on Carolina/Trujillo Alto, now i have on LTE 800Kb before 12am...
