finally got the update. don't like the way the "LTE" "3G" is displayed now. It's too small for my vision without reading glasses.
Anyone having problems with overheating? I think I might go ahead and put a 20X20X1mm thermal pad to on the processor. Anybody do this to cool the phone down?
Mine was running warm and burning through the battery quickly at first (about a day, day and a half) but, it has gone back to normal now.

Nope. The Note 3 would have to have a hardware revision like the GS4 got. The options may be in there, but it won't do squat.

I certainly wish they would do this. I was set on a Note 3 until Sprint turned on Spark here. Now I'm back to wait and see mode!

That depends on what is available. I'm not going to buy a phone that is Spark enabled just for that fact alone if I don't like the phone. It would be great if this one is tri-band and on Sprint which is why I'm asking. It seems to me that they would add that capability now that they have the chance. I really like the size and capabilities of the Note 3. I currently have the Evo 4gLTE and was looking at the HTC One Max but, I am a big picture taker and I am not sold on the camera system in it (I haven't had a chance to go hands on with one yet so that might change). I kinda like the LG G-Flex as well.

I came across it while searching Note 3 info. I'm eligible for an upgrade on Feb 1st and was set on the Note 3. Sprint threw a wrench into my plans by turning on Spark here in DFW. The main thing I would like to know is if this will be Spark enabled if it comes to Sprint. I have not seen any discussion about the phone at all. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Is anyone else having problems where their phone will only work in CDMA Only mode? This first happened about a month and a half ago. I called Sprint, and they quickly advised me on how to fix it, but didn't offer an explanation as to why it was happening. I'm not sure if this is a Sprint issue, or an problem with the EVO 4G LTE. also, when it occurs, my notification bar shows I have a 3G signal, and it's attempting to up/download data, but nothing happens. I get timeout and page won't load errors. I really hope this isn't an issue specific to the phone. If so, between that and toggling between CDMA Only and CDMA/LTE modes to force a 4G connection, I'm really wondering if I should have gone with the GSIII. One additional note - this only occurs when i'm at work in Irving, just north of the airport.

Same happened to me on 3g and 4g in and around Downtown Fort Worth. Only happened one night though. No problems when I came back to work the next night.

I'm not getting the LTE signal at my house, but I was able to get one in downtown Fort Worth and close to Harris Hospital. This test speed was right behind the Trimble Tech HS baseball field.

For everyone who is starting to connect to the LTE, are you having a lot of dropbacks to 3G? I will notice it will lock the 4G but in about 2-3 minutes it drops back to 3G. I am using a Galaxy Nexus LTE and just wanted to see if anyone else is seeing similar. I am hopeful that this is just a matter of tower tuning and not an issue with this phone.
I was getting LTE signal intermittently last night. It would stay one a few minutes and then drop back to 3g.
This speed test was from inside my office on the Eastern edge of Downtown Fort Worth.

LTE is live across all of Fort Worth. Assuming the same is true of Dallas.

The corporate store I ususally use has always been pretty knowledgeable and helpful. I know they had hands on training with the new EVO. I stopped in about a week before the original launch date and they said the HTC guy just left after doing their training.
An agent store opened recently just down the street from me so I have been stopping by there to check on the new EVO news. They have so far seemed to be fairly knowledgeable about the phones. I stopped by last night on my way to work to see how many EVO's they had to sell. They got one and that was it. Of course they already had it out fingering it and showing to everyone. They also had several people on a waiting list for one. Then they told me the manager had already tried to set aside for his friend but, they found it and told me it was mine as long I was the first one in the door this morning. As much as I want one, I'm not gonna take it from someone who is already ahead of me on a list. Not to mention they have already had their hands all over it. I just ordered on Sprint.com when I got home this morning.

I too stopped by my local (non corporate store) that opened up recently. There was a large desk type display with more shelving behind it that was empty. Every other one in the store had display phones on them. The store reps reported that have a truck arriving tomorrow (Tuesday) and hope the new EVO4gLTE will be on it. The way the said though made me think they were fully expecting them to be on the truck. They also broke out in a huge grin when I mentioned June 1st being the rumored new launch date. We will see. Could be more BS but, hopefully not.
The truck they swore would be there on Tuesday didn't show up. Amazing how that happens.

On a related note, while having the screen replaced on my 3D yesterday one of the store reps told me they were told to expect them in store by the end of the week. As always take anything from a store rep with a heaping serving of salt. They are less informed than us 90% of the time.

Some nice shots there! I have been a severe weather junkie for years. I just don't have the equipment (vehicle that I wouldn't care about getting damaged) to chase. I recently got my Basic Spotter cert so I can atleast do that when needed. Thanks for sharing the pics!

Yeehaw! It was delivered around 3pm! Hope to get it activated and set up soon. Gotta go get a case now since I wasn't expecting it until Wednesday. Hopefully the Sprint store has them out already. Best Buy said they won't be on the shelf until the official release of the phone.
