I think I'm holding off on anything until I see the new iPhone. I'm now eligible for an upgrade but want to weigh all the options

I'm a little leery of rooting now with the issues that it may cause with the secure element. I know you're supposed to clear the Google Wallet settings before flashing but all it takes is forgetting one time and your secure element is toasted and unrecoverable. At least as far as I have read.
What's proper procedure?

Does anyone know if the Evo 4g LTE still has issues that the original Evo had with sound distortion on loud volumes. This is a big thing that will make me wait for the new iPhone as every iPhone I have used gets great sound even I loud environments which the Evo can not handle.

Can anyone test this?

I'm currently trying to decide whether to get the 4G LTE or wait and see what iPhone comes out with a larger screen and lte....

Also a more expensive mic from what I understand. Working on Pro video I know how expensive mics can get but you are glad when you listen to those recordings that you spent the extra cash. Software should be able to also adjust the levels on the fly to compensate for "too loud" sound but if the mic is just over modulating there is nothing software can do.
As an aside, there are bluetooth mics that let you record to a phone, but the mics are very nice so they should be able to records a loud concern even better than an iphone.

That is more an issue of the microphone over-modulating rather than a flaw with the phone. Microphones will over-modulate if you make too much noise, there is no way around that electrical limitation.
Sure you cam fix this. Just look at the iPhone ..... I went to a concert and my friend had an iPhone 4 and I had the Evo 4g. Later we played back the video we shot. My audio is almost static and his iPhone is nice and clear. Same when I shoot with m pro hd camera. That has Great audio even in very loud places while m phone distorts.

On the orig Evo 4g, when you recorded video, the audio would distort if you were in a loud environment. Has this Ben fixed on the new lte?

If we purchased this phone now, and because Sprint does not have LTE yet, will we be able to roam on Verizon LTE?
