  1. Well I'm very pleased with the OG, very solid phone, plenty fast and so far the radio performance seems pretty good. Not as good as the S3 but not nearly as bad as the Evo. All its missing is JellyBean and I'll be set. I'm still amazed at how good the screen is.

Call quality is better than any other LTE Sprint device I used too. Its a keeper

  2. I just ordered a used LG OG on eBay practically brand new. Can anyone tell me a little more about its LTE connectivity? My S3 worked on 4G near perfectly in my covered locations, has the OG shown good connectivity with LTE?

  3. So dissapointing... I'm using my S3 which has perfectly working connectivity regarding Evdo and LTE. I just grabbed my Evo from off my shelf to play with and realized how much I still like the device still. If these issues would be fixed I'd jump back to it in a heartbeat (even with my S3 already running JellyBean). It's just unfortunate at this point, really appreciate everyone's input and theories.

  4.

It is weird, like I said the Puerto Rico Market thread, when I was at the luis munoz marin(san juan) airport yesterday my evo connected effortlessly and maintained an lte signal that was barely usable. I checked the signal strength and it was no stronger than maybe -126 at best.

Just not fair. I wanted to like that Evo so bad...

  5. S3, if u can find one for a decent price off eBay/Craigslist... It's 3G and LTE radios work just fine for me and I'm not in the best 3G area at times but speeds still seem fine. I feel like I'm on a whole new network using the S3, but this is only my experience with it s far.

  6. The issue with the Evo is so evident it's scary, example:

Got my S3 the other day, as weird as it sounds after buying an s3 used and rooting it, I still loved my Evo and held off a day before activating my S3. After using my S3 on my account for just a day, my S3 actually maintains an LTE connection at my home more often than a 3G one. Something I've never seen even when I was using my Galaxy Nexus which I thought did a fine job with LTE.

Even rode around a little today and as suspected, 4G dropped in and out in covered areas no problem (on the S3). For crying out loud call quality even sounds better on my S3. I'm just not sure anymore, maybe out of nowhere Sprint/HTC will release a JellyBean update that will fix the connectivity issues in one solid shot, I'd happily jump back on my EvO.

Side note : when I did the airplane toggle trick, I'd see full bars of 4G connection at times in certain spots but my download speeds would be horrible (.467Mbps down on my Evo)

  7. I wasn't impressed with the build quality of the S3 either. Despite its ability to handle LTE better it wasn't worth being locked into a device I wasn't fully happy with for two years. I returned it and went back to my limp Evo LTE.

thats why i didnt renew my contract for any of these phones. All used, i wouldnt recommend anyone renewing their contract with Sprint. At least not this year. Ill probably just get an N4 and go prepaid... sick of Sprint

  8. Sounds like a match made in heaven...

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

lol it would but i have an S-off Evo and a rooted S3 currently. im holding on to my Evo in hopes they correct the issue. Ill be using ny S3 for the time being and probably selling my Galacy Nexus

  9. Yea I went ahead and registered just for this topic, the LTE issues on my Evo are highly annoying. I live in the ATL market where I actually get a good number of spots of LTE coverage which I enjoyed with my Galaxy Nexus. When I got my Evo the LTE issues were evident right off the back. Wasn't seeing the 4G alpha tag in places I know I had coverage previously. I went in purchasing the Evo (on eBay because I'm not daring to renew my contract with Sprint until I know they have a solid network) knowing the LTe issues exist.

But being the impulsive person I am I have already purchased an S3 on eBay that should ship soon. I REALLY love the Evo but its becoming clearer that it was built with issues off the back. Issues with connectivity that I'VE seen are with it dropping out of a cellular connection altogether at times. I will more than likely sell my GNex and maybe hold on to my Evo while using the S3 as my main device. If Htc/Sprint release an update to fix the connectivity issues I'd gladly revert back to the Evo (even if a jelly bean release isn't super near, yes... I love the Evo that much). I just want better connectivity.
