  1. Also to add onto my earlier post, I just randomly remembered that I've connected to B41 in Alameda just in a few places, Nob Hill near the Fruitvale Bridge and The Beanery in Alameda Marketplace on Park St (it's a cafe in a building with a bunch of other small business & a health food store)

I'm just guessing from experience but I don't believe there are if many B41 sites in Alameda mostly because B25/26 do such a great job because most people here seem to have every carrier but Sprint.

  2. I have not seen much activity here recently and was wondering what kind of experience people have been having in the Bay Area now, in particular San Francisco, Marin, and the East Bay (Oakland, Alameda, Berkeley). Are speeds and coverage improving and becoming more consistent when you are on the move?

From my experience in Alameda Sprint has done a pretty good job of creating a pretty usable network. There are still some dead zones like inside most stores in South Shore (especially around Chipotle or anything around that side) and a couple of places along Park St like Julie's Cafe & Tea Garden (but they have wifi so it's not a big deal). I usually forget I have Sprint in most places; which is a pretty good compliment, but becomes really noticeable when it doesn't work.

Because I have an iPhone it takes more work to find out which LTE Band I'm connected to so I usually don't bother to check unless I'm bored and impressed by the speed or that my phones not working and I'm trying to figure out why. Also it's summer so I'm usually at home camping on wifi but I recently got a job in the Oakland Hills and the service at work is beyond terrible. It's like going through NV all over again except rather it being the networks fault of not being upgraded it's just the location (tons of trees +hills + 580 nearby = dead zone)

Overall I'm pretty happy to be a Sprint customer (except at work) and they're holding up pretty well especially since B26 is mostly optimized where I've been around the East Bay.

  3. The last time I was that video was in middle school like 5 or 6 years ago. I'm loving all of the new Sprint commercials. Whoever their old advertising firm was just terrible and didn't know how to really represent Sprints energy but this new one is just killing it.

  4. How easy is it to get replaced? I don't have Applecare +... Do I just walk into an Apple store and show them the crescent moon that is my front camera and they will replace it no questions asked?

Yeah I was wondering myself. It wouldn't be considered accidental damage cause it's not your fault so they should do it for free.

I was wondering the same thing because I'm set on going to get mine replaced whenever I have the time. I was looking on making an appointment at the Genius Bar but I didn't know what to put it under as.

  5. Yesterday I finally caught up with this thread after not reading it for a while I learned that the crescent front camera was a thing. I immediately grabbed my iPhone and stared at the front camera realizing that it wasn't supposed to look like that and that my front camera has always been like this since day one but never knew it was a defect. I shook my phone to see if the camera moved and luckily it didn't but I remember that the crescent used to be much bigger but always thought it was just the glare and never thought much of it.

I just shook my phone and there is a really distinct sound of something moving inside rattling quite loudly. Should I get it replaced or continue living on knowing that something inside my phone is pretty loose? Just thinking about it makes me want to get it replaced because knowing there's something wrong will just annoy me into a looney house.

  7. For the first time that I've noticed I've been able to keep an LTE signal from my school all the way home without it dropping or cycling airplane mode! Long live Tri-Band or at least B26 optimization in this case

  9. My friend ordered a couple days before launch, and he received a tracking number yesterday, and it's expected to arrive tomorrow (UPS 2-Day Air). So you'll probably get a tracking number when it ships.

Thanks and hopefully the 2-4 week timeline isn't true and it's just Sprint attempting to save themselves from angry hordes of people yelling at CS on the phone and people attempting to burn down Sprint stores…

  10. Just wondering but will Sprint now send you a tracking number when they ship your phone or like during the pre order madness the phone will magically appear one day? Even though I ordered this Sunday afternoon I would like to know if I should expect a tracking number or let the Apple gods decide when I get my phone.

  12. I found b26 at the Oakland Coliseum, near south hayward bart station and at my home in Fremont. Looks like they "flipped the switch" on the east bay. Next step, b26 optimization.

I also found some B26 in the Coliseum yesterday but was mostly connected to the overloaded B25 site. B41 probably would have been much better but I haven't made it to the Sprint store yet to upgrade to a 6.

  13. I love Box - way better than Dropbox, IMHO, and I'm not just saying that because I have 50 free GB for being an early adopter. :)

I also took advantage of that offer too because why turn down free cloud storage! But I use Dropbox only because I took my Moms S3 Dropbox offer so I have 50 GB for 2 years plus the 3ish I earned giving me 55GB [emoji16] I've already used 42.4% so I should start moving it over to Box.

  14. Well China Mobile and SoftBank Japan both use B41 so Sprint will probably just get that model like with the 5S we got the same model as SoftBank Japan. Everything will be fine tomorrow we'll get B41, some of the amazing things that have been leaked, and hopefully some other goodies. [emoji16][emoji16]

(Personally I think leaks ruin the whole adventure of waiting until they have their announcement but that's just me… When the iPhone 5 came out I wasn't even shocked about anything because I already saw it months before.)

  15. We're talking about an ubsubsidized device, not an unlocked device. There is a difference. The unsubsidized device doesn't come with a 2 year contract, the unlocked device doesn't come tied to a carrier. We are talking about a Sprint iPhone, which is CDMA, not an unlocked device, which is GSM. Therefore, the unlocked phone wouldn't work on Sprint, but the unsubsidized device will already be provisioned for Sprint.

Earlier there was a double post but I guess they've now corrected it. That's what I was referring too but didn't directly reply to it…
