  1. I got my MB last week. When i plugged it in, right away it was stuck at 20%. I have tried unplugging it, letting it drain, etc and it still cant get past 20%. I called sprint support and they put in a ticket. When they called me back, they stated that the tool used to decide if a magic box would work in an area was wrong and the area i am in (Lincoln, NE) was not compatible. We have all 3 sprint bands, 3xCA on b41 and i have even seen 2xCA on b25. But apparently, according to sprint, there is a separate "magic box only" channel that my area does not have.

Sadly, they told me i have 7 days to return the MB or ill be charged 250. No sorry for wasting your time, sorry for the hassle of 2 hours worth of technical support, and then a threat of a charge if i dont send it back immediately.

Ive been told by lots of people here and on the sprint subreddit that there is no such thing as a MB specific band/channel, but other than what sprint is telling me, and the fact that its not working, i guess i have no choice but to send it back to avoid being charged. Im pretty disappointed in the way sprint has handled the MB thus far, but im not sure what other options i have. No to mention how excited i was to finally have usable data signal in my apartment, in which ive lived for 10 years (and been on sprint the same amount of time), just to be given some crap about a "magic box specific channel" which no one but sprint can seem to confirm.

I hope anyone else stuck at 20% initialization has a better outcome than me, but i dont know if i would hold my breath for it.

  2. I mean sprint plans to substantially increase their amount of microwave back haul, so I do think wires/cables might go away as time goes on. There are many wireless ISPs in my city offering unlimited speeds of 50+Mbps over 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi, they're not traditional "mobile" carriers because they require mounted antennas, site surveys, etc, but the connection is "wireless"

  3. So it just happened to me again, and this time I checked the field test before resetting the data and noticed that I was already on band 26, so maybe it's possible that the problem is with the b26 carrier and not the b41? I'm not sure if this mirrors what others are seeing, but I do think I had read in the Nebraska market thread that the 2nd b26 (or maybe it was 25, I can't remember) were coming online.

  4. Hi guys, I'm in Nebraska but I posted this question in the sponsors forum for NE and someone said they thought they remembered someone complaining about this issue here, anyone having this problem?

Anyone else been having this issue lately? For about the past 2 weeks my iPhone 6s Plus will be connected to b41, then randomly it completely drops the LTE connection (Just shows sprint in the top left, no LTE, no 3G), then it connects back to b25, but no data will flow. If I open Ping and try to ping, the network spinner will spin, but I have no traffic flowing. I have to toggle airplane mode, then things are fine for awhile until it happens again. I've submitted network tickets with the sprint zone, and also confirmed other people in my office on sprint are having similar issues so I don't think it's just my phone. Anyone know of anything happening in Lincoln that could be causing this? For weeks and weeks b41 was rock solid stable, now it's not. =/

  5. Yea I don't understand and it's super annoying. Two of the places I spend most of my time have no service and I rly wish I could send SMS. Does sprint even know about this issue?

Sprint knows about it. On their wifi calling FAQ it says that sms is not supported over wifi on iOS, but it does mention that it is expected to be supported in the future. Hopefully the future will be sooner than later.

  6. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, i looked on my iphone and i'm on band 25 which i believe is LTE 1900, but do we not know for sure yet if the 5c/5s support the band 26 LTE 800?

That article tends to indicate that the 5c/5s variant for sprint does in fact support the bands for 800mhz LTE. Can anyone confirm?
