  1. Anyone in the New Lenox/Homer Glen/ Lockport area getting LTE yet?

Nope. I'm at Rt. 6 and Parker Rd, (unincorporated area, Marley/Mokena), zip, zero, nada. Went to Lemont this afternoon, nothing. Went to Menards on Bell in Homer, nada.

Hate to say it, but: meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I'll be heading up to Oak Lawn for the evening, I'll give it a whirl. Ain't holding my breath.

  2. Thank you Robert for that great response yesterday.

Still nothing this morning here in Mokena, but I'm concerned about what I believe was you, who I'll paraphrase, "EVOlte doesn't connect to LTE very well". Aww, geez, here we go again (bad memories from my first Android device, the Samsung Moment).

I know this is an LTE info site, but I shunned the Galaxy because my old Moment had useless GPS, and the orig EVO worked almost flawlessly.

This new EVO is great 95% of the time, but it definitely has it's problems. Continual "Network Error" while surfing, still cannot upload photos directly to Picasa (major fail, Sprint store said nothing wrong with phone). When switching back to home screen from internet, HUGE lag (phone basically stops for 10-15 seconds). There's more, but...

Anyhow, why did you say to go to airplane mode? Doesn't that shut off the radios?

    Thanks,

    Jack

  3. The Chicago market extends past Rockford to Freeport and Dixon to the west, La Salle to the SW, Kankakee to the south, Portage IN to the east and the Wisconsin border to the north.

They are putting LTE on all the sites in the market. All of them. Even the rural sites. Even sites in DeKalb, Marengo, Ottawa, Rochelle, Matteson, Kentwood, Valparaiso. All of them.

New here, been a lurker for a bit. Anyhow, I'm skeptical. Very skeptical.

I live in Mokena, about 8 miles west of Matteson, right along Interstate 80. NEVER got WiMax on our orig EVOs here. Heck, right now, this instant, in our "downtown area", no Sprint coverage whatsoever. This is truly Sprint's last chance, otherwise, we gone ASAP.

Don't get me wrong, I've been pleased with dealing with Sprint, but selling me services that never arrive for 2.5 years, kinda makes me look like a fool.
