  1. Agreed. My service was never great to begin with at work or home, but now it's a miracle if I can even answer a phone call or check my email. I know it takes time, but it's literally been about 4 months of it and I'm over it. I'd rather pay more and not have to suffer Sprint growing pains anymore.

My data was weak and spotty for about most of August. Finally, Sprint told me it was network vision upgrades and there was nothing I could do. It would be better and fast when it was fixed. Now, they won't even tell me if it's network vision, just that everything is working fine. Which it's not.

Sprint wants me to bring my GS3 in to the store to check the antenna, which I'm doing this weekend. Unfortunately, I don't think that's the issue since my data works just fine when I'm not home.

If this is normal, I'm gone. And I'm not paying anything to get out of my contract.

  2. If your service takes a drastic turn for the worse, that means they're actively working on the tower closest to where you live.

All of the work won't happen in just a few days, depending on logistical availability, staffing and other factors - it can take a while.

There was a team that integrated a tower near my house almost 2 months ago. Checked with a crew working there yesterday and everything is ready for LTE to go live. For some reason, Sprint is still waiting to cut it on.

That's what I'm thinking. Unfortunately, Sprint claims that there's no work going on in my area. I'm frustrated because it worked before the upgrade. I'm willing to wait, but I have no clue what is happening.

  3. Living extremelly close... could... if you live in a launched city you can call Sprint and open a trouble ticket. If you are not in a launched city you will have to wait as your city is still in testing phase.

My city just launched this week. Sprint told me to turn off my LTE. They don't know if all the upgrades are done yet. They were supposed to do a ticket, but really didn't seem interested.

  4. One possible reason for this is the downtilt and proximity to the actual panels. Too close and you get next to nothing too far and you get nothing... double edge sword.

So, living close to a tower gives you crappie service. Great. My home area is now listed as fair LTE service. In fact, I get NO LTE service and weak or no 3G service. If this is the case on all carriers, I'm screwed at home.

This will be something to keep watch on. Apparently the S3 is causing problems at least enough on US Cellular for them to offer replacements for some S3 owners. Some speculate it could be the source of the problem in the Sprint Chicago market (which apparently is pretty bad right now all over)

Interesting. I've not had issues on my GS3, unless Sprint is working on the towers in my area.

  6. Sweet 11/6. Samsung must've pressured the carriers so that they could sell more Galaxy gears. Especially since the return rate for the watch is rumored to be bad.

It's supposed to be around 30%. But I'll believe it when I see it. Especially on Sprint.
