  1. Not that I've seen yet. My AT&T devices continue to sit on 1 bar of LTE or HSPA at my house even though much stronger LTE is available on Sprint.

Ya me too. I'm about 150 yards from a sprint tower and I've got 1 bar on ATT. But they say as long as you have att service it won't switch over to roaming unfortunately. I tried bringing that up when I had sprint and that's what I was told

  2. Sprint seems to be making a lot of moves towards VoLTE this year such as:

    - Trying to upgrade most of not all GMOs to LTE (both B25 run through old antennae and B26 through dedicated antennae like T-Mobile has been doing with their B12 deployment)

    - Releasing the Magic Box

    - Signing an LTE roaming agreement with AT&T

    - Enabling LTE roaming in all USCC areas

    - Adding B41 small cells in metro and suburban areas across the country

    - Aggressively adding B41 mini macros to macro sites in many areas across the country

    - Reducing Qrxlevmin values on sites across the country (I can now comfortably hold all LTE bands down to signal levels as low as -126 in my market, for example)

    - Widening LTE carriers and thinning out CDMA

There are more, of course, but you get the point. I personally think VoLTE will probably come to Sprint late this year but we'll all see soon enough.

When does sprint expect the roaming agreement with att to go live? I wonder if it will be mostly only 1x/3G speeds or will they allow full LTE...

  3. Why the slow roll out of 3xCA? Why not, just flip the switch! I know outer borough towers could use the relief. I've def noticed great performance from sprint in Manhattan in the tourist, business high traffic areas. But not so much in the residential parts.

    It's all about the money

  4. The problem is that we dont know if Sprint is even requesting the same type of waiver for LA Metro/OC/northern parts of SB county. Hopefully they are.

True well Im well aware that they know they are bleeding customers way more than att is

  5. It looks like Sprint is requesting a waiver so that Sprint can start deploying LTE 800 in the Phoenix area. I wonder if Sprint is planning to request another waiver so that parts of LA Metro, OC counties and say the northern part of San Bernardino county (ex: Riverside, Corona, etc) can start deploying LTE 800. It seems silly to keep that large of a land mass hostage due to Mexico rebanding. I think the area south of the Salton Sea should be excluded in a waiver for San Bernardino county and that areas north of that should be allowed to begin LTE 800 deployment. What do you guys think?

I think it's about time... they should've requested a waiver long ago... they've got all this spectrum and need to put it to use asap because they're losing a lot of customers. And they also need to get a carrier settings update put out asap to allow for simultaneous date and voice. Verizon (as well as the other carriers) all have it no reason why sprint does not

  6. Or even the entire SoCal market from Orange County, to riverside county, to the I.E. and San Diego county...and like soon lol.

Ya I agree. For some reason, it seems like SoCal is being neglected in the sprint network upgrades

  7. It's good to see more Nokia gear in this market.

Also, the placement of this site is interesting. It's very close to a macro site (as in 1500 ft. or so away). It seems to strategically fill in an area that might be in a signal "shadow" due to some structures in the way.

Hopefully they install some of these in 91214

  8. Anywhere one gets wifi (home, work, school, gym...Most everywhere), one does have simultaneous voice and data. And no one needs to be browsing the web and conducting a voice call while operating a motor vehicle (the only place one likely does not have wifi). So I absolutely do not get why this would be a deal breaker for anyone.

If you're a passenger in a motor vehicle, a pedestrian, etc
