Well, switch flipped. Back to acceptable service and actually improved in a few places in my commute. Seems like whatever they have been up to is  back online. Nice to see improvements. Looking at new phone and curious what all the fancy tech can offer.

South end if downtown is still total deadzone. I now see that my phone (IPhone 7) bounces between 25, and 26, and never 41. There is a lot of construction going on, and wonder if they lost a building top location? Idk but I am not seeing any new improvements in Portland and network is very bogged down. First time in almost 15 years really considering being done. Fingers crossed they will flip the magic switch and things will get better.

Always wonder why a quick email stating “improvement are coming, and please be aware of short term network congestion”is so hard for them to do! Thanks for the info!

Has Sprint turned off half thier network in Portland? Not sure if it’s Volte testing, or a deliberate attempt to show thier crappy network, but wow pretty much useless  throughout city. 

Anyone have news or anything of interest in the Portland Metro Market? Things in my hood in Inner SE have been rather quiet. One of the 3g only sites recently was updated on SE Woodstock with B25 LTE which sort of sucks as it seems to override all the band 26/41 that I was getting before when out and and about in the neighborhood. Why would they upgrade a site and only activate 25, and not 26/41 too? Also looks like Sprint is showing Portland as a Spark market on their coverage map now.

I actually use my phones built in "field test" mode. Gives me the band, other diagnostic info.

I am actually curious if it is really "working". I have not had any issue with dropping to 3G but am a little disappointed at the range. I only live about .5 a mile from the site and can't connect to it often at home. I do notice that band 25 is thankful for the assistance as that is noticeably faster.

Looks like all three bands are working now!

First band 41 in Inner SE Portland! Looks like gear on roof near Trader Joe's on Cesar Chavez finally came online.
