  1. So does anyone know what's going on with the Midlothian/Genito Tower? Still have yet to connect to Band 25 no matter how my band priorities are set up. Band 41 from the tower is still averaging about 7 megs down and 2 up. If Robert could come inform that'll be great cuz I feel Sprint has the 804 on the backburner. I thought If my Triband phone can connect to Band 41 if there's a stronger Band 25 signal you'd expect it to connect well that isn't the issue as of right now my S5 is either Sprint Spark or 3G no band 25. Why is that if my mother's note 3 can find the 2 bar signal, why can't my s5 find it? They're both connected to the same site so I'm assuming the site has Band 41 & 25 from experience of my S4 from last year and my s5 this year. Is there a handover issue that Spark phones have or is this the tower issue? Another question I'm asking, does anyone know when band 26 LTE will be active on this site? I been around Richmond and VCU but can't connect to 800 LTE my phone only finds Band 41 all of my bands are enabled. This isn't a rant I just want someone with more insight give me a straight answer with no run arounds.

I even have LTE Discovery to chime when I (if ever)connect to Band 26. I'm assuming my site doesn't have backhaul if I keep getting slow speedtest results from a tower that's only 2 miles away. Like I said in the past, standing right in front of the tower will only pull about 15 megs DL if you're ever lucky. I feel like this tower should be strong since it's in a line with AT&T and then a skinny Verizon site followed by Sprint and Tmo is last in line, lol all the sites are in a straight line or side by side if viewing from the riverisde Sports complex on genito. The inconsistencies is real on LTE from such a small distance away even my tmobile friends are connecting to their site in the same area on genito next to the sports complex. Is this because the tower is half powered or something? My 3G to LTE Ratio is 30% LTE and 70% 3G based off an hourly estimate sheet I'm creating to log in the type of Data I'm using every hour without including switching over/back. Meaning every hour has a log of what connection I have regardless of if the phone finds LTE @6:00 but not @6:01

  2. So I been researching. I love Sprint but,Tell me why My S5 can't connect to band 25 at all but my mother's Note 3 can? Matter infact why when I get LTE I can only get band 41 Sprint Spark? I know Nextel band 26 doesn't exist in the area but 1x800 does. Why can my phone connect to 1 bar of Sprint Spark but not band 25? I thought this was a "tri band phone " yes I know about network vision 2.0 and blah blah blah. But lemme get this Straight on my Galaxy S5 if I dial ##3282# aka ##data# and go to LTE only mode and allow roaming I can get full bars of LTE on band 25. If I'm not roaming my phone will upgrade to That 1 bar of Band 41 Spark and hold it for hours till it roams again. Guess who I'm roaming under? Wholesale partner NTELOS! Wow. So you're telling me If I force LTE on my phone I connect to Ntelos with full bars? So why can Ntelos customers connect to 6 bars worth of Sprint Standard LTE aka band 25 but my Spark S5 can't even find the native Band 25 Signal? Some prime time member needs to explain this photo. The funny thing is 1 bar of band 41 is still faster than band 25, but what I don't get is why can't we connect to Ntelos without forcing LTE if we have a CCA roaming agreement?

  3. Since my S5 refuses to connect to Band 25 Standard LTE, it only connect to 1 bar of Spark TDD LTE band 41, since Nextel band 26 doesn't in the 804 yet however we do receive and sit on 1x800. Now 1900 is available in the area my mom's Note 3 gets LTE fine and it's band 25 meanwhile if we're in the same rool my phone may find band 41 or i just sit on 3G. I love Sprint the new 3g is great I can 100% guarantee 3G over 1meg dl on speedtest however I just need fast Internet speeds to get things done quickly. Now recently I been testing LTE only mode after finding the paperwork i got with my phone from best which supplies my Master Lock Code. After dialing ##3282 aka ##data# i went to LTE only mode and my phone does 1 of the 2 things, #1. It finds that 1 bar of Sprint Spark from my tower 2 miles away. Or #2. Band 25 LTE roaming with 6 full bars! (5 bars sometimes) now yes i know I can't call people well like most people born in the mid 90's we text before calling anyways. So once i started LTE roaming I needed to find out what carrier I'm on and guess what it's NTelos!! Wtf? How do they get 6 bars of Sprint LTE when I can't normally get 6 bars of Sprint LTE band 25. Someone smart reply cause it's a mystery.

  4. How has spark speeds been in your area in Richmond or Counties

Extremely weird in normal mode my phone finds Band 41, and 3G. However My phone refuses to connect to Band 25 when operating in normal mode meanwhile my moms Note 3 has no time finding that signal and It can actually sit on band 25 longer than me on band 41 my phone bounces between the two signals and I always get 1 bar of TDDLTE even when on the property of the tower on Genito.
  5. So I'm back living in this area after staying in Atlanta for 6 months I see that the network has improved in the Brandermill/New Clover Hill High area. So I just got upgraded to the Electric Blue s5 and it's Spark enabled every Couple of hours I'll connect to 15 mins worth of Spark on band 41 aka TDD LTE it's not the best indoors but great on the porch. I'm still not sure why my phone hasn't Picked up standard 1900 LTE but on 41 i have maxed to 5.25 down & 1.30 up with about 2 Bars. What's the average is with band 41? Now 3G has also greatly improved from 6 months ago however i am also receiving abnormal data speeds like the fastest 3g speed i have is 1.46 Down & .81 up. Remember I'm not complaining 3G is nice but i have a speedtest I can't understand having 4 bars getting 1.56 down and 0.00 up??? Is there some testing going on with 3G or what it's 2am the 3G network should be at godspeed. Not complaining just curious about the tower on genito.

  6. Nah I know it's the tower I'm connect to because I use the LTE ddiscovery App on my phone and when I'm on the genito side of Brandermill it connects to that tower and when I'm in the front of brandermill I use the tower on Bailey Bridge Road those are the only 2 I use both been thru Network Vision but trust me I know which tower I'm connected to I got a shared unfinished no antenna AT&T&TMobile tower behind my neighbors house deep in the woods, I can also spot the glowing big red tower from Verizon from the front of my yard.

If you're getting 2 bars sitting under the tower, than it's likely not the site you are getting LTE from.

I don't believe that Sprint has given any official timeline for your area. If you got that date from a call with a representative, disregard it. Very few CSRs have access to the information needed to make that kind of a statement, and even fewer know what it means.

Tri-band devices send/receive texts through LTE, so that would not affect your data browsing. However, if SvLTE is that important to you during calls, you are out of luck until VoLTE matures. Or you'll need to move to Verizon. Otherwise, SvLTE is a thing of the past. I can count on one hand the times I've felt I needed SvLTE lately. I'll give you a hint. It starts with z.

Finally, it sounds like you haven't checked out the site rules. Please take a moment to read those, and possibly the FaQ pages. I think that will help you better understand what is occurring in your market currently.

  7. DC has launched because when u travel up to NOVA to the DC/Maryland border LTE is strong and it stays like that until you hit Delaware when it's slightly weaker. I don't understand why Sprint can't get it like the other networks. They said LTE would come to my area in June...it's July! and unless I'm on my schools property LTE is very weak even though this tower is 2 miles away and I am always on 1 or 2 bars. Been getting more dropped calls ever since they started messing with the tower. People will call me and I hear weird beeps and buzzes. This is really pathetic I thought Network Vision would end this but it made it worse. I shouldn't have to sit outside to stream YouTube on LTE meanwhile in Atlanta at my dads I can get it in my room that's in the back of the house. I'll occasionally get kicked off to 3g but my non triband finds it again within 10 mins. Mind yall it was band 25 1900 I also had 1x800 down there. I can't leave sprint until Next August 2015 I'm not patient so I'm hoping on This Sprin-T-Mobile merger. I refuse to get a Spark phone I like SV LTE and if I can't text and talk like I can now on my non triband. I like dual antennas over the single one in a GS5, LG G2. I'm not bashing but I'm getting annoyed when I can't even call other sprint phones without having some sort of problem with the network. I got slightly better 3G -95dbm ehrpd but 1 bar sucks. So I'm calling sprint later to re ticket my tower on Genito because even when you're standing under the tower I get 2 bars LTE... like really?! In staten Island I get that inside pulling up to 35 megs download and 16 up on 1900 Spark.

  8. I don't know what the heck Sprint is doing they just realeased new LTE & Spark markets for june where's RVA? Richmond getting Spark that early is impossible especially with inconsistent 3g data between .35 dl all the way up to 1.4megabits) in DL speeds after Network Vision and now that my towers turned on LTE I can only get it while sitting outside. Some other things to point out is why does my phone signal jumps from 1 bar to full bars & back to 1 this happens within seconds every hour. If 1900 was going to be weak and slow why didn't Sprint just use Nextel 800 from the start. Even if I ride my bike to my tower I only get 3 or 4 bars on LTE never full! I'm hoping for the Merger between Sprint & T-Mobile because the logic of Sprint3G/4gLTE and Spark doesn't add up. Sitting outside for LTE is lame but you gotta do what you gotta do when it comes to watching 7+ mins YouTube videos. I was told by Sprint it world be coming in June and when it got here it's been nothing to rely on indoors but outside coverage is useful when streaming music while exercising I'm hoping Sprint puts 8T8R Antennas in Richmond because when I was in Brooklyn my non Spark GS4 connects to Spark Towers 1900 signal and I pull 40 megabits DL and I'm somewhere in the high teens and early 20s on upload. I can get 2 megs DL on 3g sometimes Those 8T8R's shut me up but that's Network Vision 2.0 and 1.0 isn't substantial completed even though it's "mid year 2014" I'm very impatient I been waiting since 2010 for usable 3g I got that now, but now I need LTE because times changed unlike the people who own Spark phones I can actually Surf and Talk which is critical when "dad who lives in ATL calls and needs me to quickly search bus tickets" I'm hoping that if I'm still on this network in the future Spark users get qualities that svlte has currently.

  9. My phone connects to a tower on Genito rd that's my main one and the second tower is on Bailey Bridge Rd. They both have LTE upgrades signals but extremely weak strength unless I'm walking around in the line of sight of the towers. There's a recently built tower behind my neighbors house in the woods I thought it was sprint but sadly it's At&t & Tmobile that share it, what's even worse is that the tower has no antennas on they built the base and the tower without no antenna so it just sits there as a pole eating power for no reason. I wish it was Sprints I know for a fact if it was LTE would be through the roof. Is it possible for multiple carriers to share a tower that's own by another company like At&T, and T Mobile to have Sprint panels at the bottom to help out other tower's or is the whole cdma vs umts difference a problem with sharing? Somebody help ms out with some knowledge.

  10. Noticed that the last couple of days I've been getting ev-do rev a (B41) with some lte mixed in. Anybody else getting this?

Yeah I have around Midlothian my neighborhood has LTE in a slight cusp(came on last Friday) even though the tower is 2 miles from here. Sadly 1900 LTE stops at my front door but runs fine through my school, weird my school is concrete and bricks, my house isn't nowhere in that range with building penetration. I get better 3g now but I need LTE 1900 to come thru my house. My phone will go to Ehrpd switch randomly to ev-do and goes to LTE. Even when I'm in a area where LTE is present unless I cycle my connection it'll take a while for my Galaxy s4(non triband) to notice. Network Vision towers act crazy during upgrades like 3g gets really good but when LTE signals come through it doesn't stay on. I don't know if 1900 LTE is just a weak spectrum in general or towers that just upgraded to LTE have to start off with weak signals in order to get stronger? Or maybe my tower is just weak overall...Has anyone find their 4gLTE network signal to get stronger weeks after upgrades? Does it take time for tower's to reach their full potential is the question I'm asking? But 3g evdo is nice with good speeds and strength.
  11. Okay I get it but once this finishes the question I wanna know is will we be able to beat verizon not coverage wise but what about speeds and network time on 4G LTE I always noticed that our phones will skip out on a 2 bar 10 meg DL LTE signal and downgrade back to tiny 1 meg DL full bar 3g signal I witnessed it.

Seems Like Verizon S4 stays on LTE even in a basement they rarely experience 3g but will sprint stay on LTE & I noticed that in Midlothian/RVA/CField Sprint has a faster 3g & LTE speeds on Ookla Speedtest but that AWS spectrum could change it.

Also isn't At&t testing VoLTE for the future? No hate but according to Ookla my friend's At&T iphone pulls down to 36 meg DL while Sprint gets 20 DL and Verizon 1.50 meg DL() I dont know about TMO because they only get Hspa & Hspa+ in these areas it's pretty fast but it's not LTE just a "boosted 4G" I just want someone to knock Verizon from the throne I'm not mad at at&t for trying to get 1st but I'm tired of Sprint Being in 3rd Place and TMO's Legere attacking sprint on twitter saying it's only a matter of time until they beat us out of 3rd place.

  12. Well first of all I'm not bashing Sprint so don't attack me. My Mom been on Sprint when Nextel was hot back in 2003 I got my first phone in 2010 it was a sanyo flip I was younger when I had it service was decent but things changed it's 2014 I have a Gs4 non triband do you see how many years it's been since Sprint been saying that 4G LTE is coming to Richmond? Since 2012. I seen T-Mobile comeback and I'm worried about Verizon XLTE it may take away Sprint's Spark literally I hate seeing them advertise their LTE maps I see Framily commercials it gives me hope. But as a customer I want the New Network that'll let me watch a standard 5 min video on YouTube without any buffer probs. That's what I want people so people can stop calling us The Slow Network.

  13. What makes me mad is how Sprint has LTE everywhere on the eastern seaboard but Central VA is in the middle of the no 4g LTE gap according to sprints website I know there's LTE in NoVA and there's LTE in NC but it's like they skipped us to do us last because of our area code 804.

I'm going to give Sprint until mid June because I been getting the "faster data speeds upgrades" text but my phone only speeds up after midnight they claim that Sprint is all over Midlo/chesterfield tuning towers but sensorly still hasn't changed that much except there's LTE on the turnpikes but we need it in the suburbs.

Another thing to point out is that they need to make 1900 LTE stronger idc if it's not a low frequency but I shouldn't have to be outside and in towers view to get 5 bars sprint already added 2.5 and 800 but now they might get 600 which means tri band devices are a rip off once they buy that spectrum because you need another device. If I can't get 1900 LTE in my house whenever they "finish upgrades" since the tower is barely 2 miles from me and is behind my school I'm going to T-Mobile straight up. I rather have HSPA+ and a little bit of LTE.

My friends get mad when they claim they call me and I have to remind them Sprint is under Network Vision which is some bs because VA hasn't been fully LTE equipped except for the Beach and NoVA meanwhile people around the state are randomly getting connection to Verizon XLTE which may be as fast or even faster than Spark only time will tell. Sprint needs to Sprint their asses up on these towers so I can use my s4 like I do on wifi.

  14. I live in Midlothian my community is Brandermill I spotted LTE over here in my friends garage. I think the tower is around Bailey Bridge Road I mapped the two little bubbles towards the 288 sign on Hull Street, however that isn't my main tower mine's located between genito(604) and powhite parkway(288) it's 3g signal is decent but I'm still waiting for LTE someone should go to that tower and check it out. I'm sure that tower has been getting upgrades due to me getting 1.07 down and .65 Up as of today but in the last few months it went from sucky to decent to now stable. I just hope sprint hurries up because this tower supports a good size of Brandermill and Genito neighborhoods.
