  1. LG issued a free worldwide replacement campaign for any phone suffering from the problem starting today.

This happened to mine several months ago. My son, who was nearly 5 at the time, started playing games on my phone, never properly exiting out of any of them and it suddenly got really hot. Went into this boot loader loop after it cooled down and the Sprint store repair guy examined it and said it looked like the glue holding the cpu in place had melted and shorted it. Got a replacement at no cost.

  2. I don't think I like the new updates. My phone is running noticeably slower. Videos have really low frame rates or freeze entirely. It messed up my lg Bluetooth headset. The play button no longer pauses Pandora for instance. Exiting an app shows a blank screen for two seconds before icons show up. I see no benefits whatsoever.

  3. The reviews that suggested sluggishness seemed to think it was because they got a Korean version that was filled with levels of bloatware not normal this side of the Pacific. Also there was no cellular connectivity and all testing was done wifi.

  4. My first LG G2 behaved well. Then I dropped it (in a case) and the LCD below the perfectly fine glass cracked. The replacement seemed to work. Then suddenly from time to time the middle section of the screen would either not register anything or the whole phone would go phantom touch nuts. The Sprint store replaced it and the next phone's screen was fine but the GPS was absolutely not working. Would not lock onto any signal. This was causing excessive battery drain due to location services never working and got Sprint store to again replace. Finally my third replacement works fine. GPS is good. Screen is good. Now in a much better case.

Clearly LG's "A" team was not involved in manufacturing this device, which is a pity. There are clearly a lot of lemons out there.

    LG G3

Where in the DC area are you that the service is unusable? I'm starting to see LTE all over the place. Get B41 at my home in Alexandria.

  5. I received the G2 back from LG yesterday. LG installed a new screen (they said the old one was defective) and a new chipset. The device was on ZVC again when i received it back and had an LG splash screen instead of Sprint. The GPS now works. LG nicked up the silver band around the side of the device and didn't return my factory box. The entire LG repair experience was horrible. You get a call center in India when setting up the return. I had an extremely difficult time trying to understand what the relresentative was saying. I'm not happy at all about losing my factory box. When i go to sell the device it will be worth less without the original box.

After reinstalling everything the LTE symptoms were the same. Fall back to 3 and stay there

I checked the BSR timer and it was set to 3000. I changed that to 3 and had better luck switching between 3G and LTE.

It appears that the ZVD update does indeed cause the LTE issues. The BSR timer appears to correct the issue.

Now an array is down on the Shentel tower near my house for data speed upgrades, so I can't really check out band 26.

This entire experience with multiple calls to LG for the original problem of the GPS repair and having to deal with their inadequate call center is enough to make me think twice about a future purchase of an LG product.

Thanks to all on S4GRU and XDA who posted about the BSR timer issue.

Just as a follow up to this I was able to get this info to the right people at Sprint and a patch/update will be sent out in mid to late October to fix the BSRTimer settings (among other things). Way too long in my opinion but I am not sure of the process they have to go through to get this out the door. For fun I even let our new CEO know about this, especially what I consider to be an unacceptable 9-10 week resolution time for those who are not tech savvy enough to search sites such as this for the solution.

  6. Have you checked to see if the "Connections Optimizer" has been checked?

It is checked. Should it be? So right now if I get wifi after a reboot - if I leave that wifi and get 4G or whatever and then return to the wifi (as in my home) it will not connect period. Makes no sense that Sprint wouldn't want me on my high speed internet. Thanks...

  7. Hi. First time posting. My LG G2 got the Kitkat upgrade and I believe ever since it basically refuses to go to Wifi. If I restart the phone it will connect but once it goes inactive for some length of time wifi will never come back. If I go into settings the wifi is basically grayed out. It looks like it is trying to turn on but just sits like that. Any ideas? This was not an issue before the upgrade and I don't think I've added any programs in the meantime.
