  1. The Moto X went pass through the FCC back in May so its possible that it might have been one of the last phones to get single band LTE. I think you are analyzing it too much. Who cares if the GS4 mini hasn't been announced yet. Sprint is just timing the releases so that not one phone topples the sales over the other types of phones. The GS4 mini will be announced eventually and we have the FCC docs to prove that it is triband. Just because it hasn't been announced yet doesn't mean that they are still testing the unit. At that point its all about trying to ensure the product is ready for launch which most likely means inventory. Sprint could be getting word from its suppliers about estimates in terms of inventory that there are delays for that phone due to X number of reasons (supply chain making less GS4 minis in order to ramp up Note 3 production, customs delay, etc) and they don't feel comfortable about giving out a release date atm since they can't gauge the amount of inventory it will have by a certain date.

In terms of the Note 3, none of the other carriers have had FCC docs released yet and ATT is set to launch the Note 3 on Oct 1st. There is still plenty of time for Sprint to announce it. I think we will get an announcement of the Sprint Note 3 availability by the end of this week since today Sprint is going to make an announcement of the iPhone 5S availability. In terms of FCC docs for the Note 3, it can be any day now and even next week is not too late and it should be triband given the track record of the GS4 mini. Take a deep breath and just relax.

All FCC docs have been released for the Note 3, and I can confirm that Sprints version IS NOT triband capable. Please find the doc web addresses below!

  2. Now that the summer vacation is over, I am working on a belated article for the LG G2 FCC OET authorizations.  Some of the data still seems to be missing, much like with the Optimus G last summer.  So, I am basically betting on a Class II Permissive Change filing down the road.  Similar to last year, that probably pushes the release back to later in the fall.

Is this the Class II Change?

  3. Even if there were other triband devices, the rumored phones with Snapdragon 800 are the HTC One Max and Galaxy Note 3, which are going to be humongous phones. The G2 is going to be the absolute largest phone I would ever consider, so I would still probably wait for the G2 to be out even if the Note 3 and One Max were out already. I know other people would probably consider those phones, but they are definitely not options to me.

Wrong. The S4 has been fitted with the 800 processor and is on sale in Korea with LTE Advanced. It also has tri-band capabilities. Please view the article below.

As for the date, I am afraid the guy said it would be November 1st, and judging by Sprints latest upcoming handset list (which did not mention the G2 anywhere...) i am assuming my friend was correct. (I found this screen shot on engadget!)

FYI, I have had my upgrade available for 2 months and am dying to get the G2, so I am gutted if it is November launch. Complete bummer.

  4.

According to a friend who works in the Marketing Department, the release date is scheduled for November 1st. A page will be opened mid-September for pre-orders. It is LTE Tri-Band capable, despite the Clearwire band being unavailable in most areas, and 800 LTE still being re-farmed from IDEN.

From my understanding, T-Mobile and Sprint are getting the G2 half a month after Verizon and AT&T.
