Seattle/West Washington Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule update
in The Wall

Finally!!! My Evo LTE pulled a 4G signal near the Seatac airport while waiting at the cell phone parking lot. Got around 2Mbps down and 2 up. This must have been from Burien tower which is a bit on the far side from there, and much, much better than the 100-700kbps 3G speeds that I usually get - so the speeds don't seem too bad. Looking forward to seeing more coverage in the region!

Any new updates on Seattle? The last four months felt like a year stuck on 3G :-)
I'm looking forward to getting speeds similar to what other people from Kansas City post on their speedtest signatures.. Heck, I'd be happy seeing 2Mbps downloads! Unfortunately the 3G speeds have gotten worse here in Washington - its about 50-200kbps these days. Can't even stream spotify on the phone.

Nice. Looks like they plan to have a lot more LTE towers compared to Wimax. Looking forward to the day we'd get LTE coverage all the way down I5 to Portland :-)

EDITORIAL: C'mon people, you really do want access to the LTE network early, right?

beastman59, I suggest you also drop the Latitude and Longitude readings from the posted speed test results (along with the IP addresses that you've already removed) for privacy reasons. For example, the first two point to the restaurants you were in when you conducted the tests :-)

I think you may have missed part of the article where it says:The deployment does start in Fall 2012.Robert
I did miss that.. Thank you Robert. I only read the "schedule details" section.
Hoping they'd launch in the core downtown areas first! I just need 4G when I'm out and about during the day in downtown - at home I get wifi.

This is extremely disappointing as the owner of an LTE phone. My phone will be one year old by the time LTE finally comes around here and possibly will never see an LTE signal (there's going to be better phones by then).
3G is dreadfully slow. Probably should have stuck with my Wimax phone until they actually provided the service. I wish sprint had put a wimax radio in these "4G" phones so people could use those until LTE shows up.
I hope they actually start the tower deployment by late this year instead of waiting until April/May 2013.
I was told by employees of the sprint store when I purchased my new EVO that LTE would be available sometime around the Fall in the Seattle area. I really hope that this means that sites that are already completed will not be blocked until the official market launch. It would be a bummer to have to wait till next year.
They didn't mention the year! They probably meant fall of 2013/2014 ;-)

It's good to see that several places have gotten LTE. The highest speed I got was 30 Mbps in Kirkland. That was great! If I can get around 4 to 5 Mbps, I'll be happy.
I wish I'll be able to use LTE in Bellevue before my 2 year contract is up (in a few months) on my LTE phone. I plan to I switch to a carrier that has 1Mbps+ speeds around here when my Sprint contract runs out.
It's disappointing to see that LTE still isn't available in most of Seattle and the Eastside after an year and a half of getting an LTE phone. And I thought last year that September 2013 seemed so far away!
