  1. They look like Magentans in disguise! Perhaps John Legere is giving them extra GBs in data stash.

I made this video. You can find some of my posts in the Toledo market thread. No, I'm not a troll... I personally have nothing against Sprint. I've been a customer for several years and it has satisfied my needs. I don't need 50mbps+ speeds on my phone. No, T-Mobile didn't pay me. It was simply my "final project" for AP Statistics class. We had to come up with a topic, collect our own raw data, and we were supposed to write a report featuring descriptive statistics, at least 5 graphs, regression analysis, numerical hypothesis testing, a confidence interval, and categorical hypothesis testing. However, we were told we could make a video instead of writing a report for extra credit. My friend and I decided to do this because we thought it was creative and something we were interested in... whereas most people did something on sports stats. We originally were going to make an "advertisement" for Sprint, but when we collected the data and it didn't look stellar and we didn't have a whole lot of time to come up with something else before it was due, we just decided to flip the message so to speak. I've read a ton of stuff on this website over the past several years and understand all the benefits of CA and realize it wasn't the best phone to use, and I've even replied to the comments stating that, but I didn't see it reasonable to buy a new phone just for a high school project. I just never expected such a backlash when I published it.

  2. how do you know you're connected to 10x10 using lte engineering screen?

also, i know this has nothing to do with 10x10 or even Sprint probably, but I have an HTC phone and while I have SCP, it drives me nuts that it only shows 1 bar for LTE unless the signal is -99dbm or better no matter the band. i wish i could fix that because -100ish on B41 is pretty decent and I think it should have more than 1 bar. it shows 1 bar many places i go and i think this is bad for many Sprint customers who don't have SCP and think their signal is always bad when in reality it's not. oh well.

  3. It'll be done site by site as an integration team rolls by to install digital unit cards for lte 800 and set up the software parameters for the site. Before that can happen they'll need to physically replace a lot of the original lte 1900 only antennas for dual band 800+1900 one which they're slowly doing now.

If past history is any indication it will not be stronger than b25 initially or.. Ever.

Do the new dual band 800+1900 antennas provide any better range/coverage than the existing 1900 only ones?

  4. I've been doing some digging around for stuff around our area and found this... I don't know how accurate this site is but I found this pretty interesting: http://www.antennasearch.com/sitestart.asp?sourcepagename=antennachecktxreview&getpagename=pgtxdetail&cmdrequest=getpage&ipos=22&isubpos=1&strtxtype=lmcomm&unique_system_identifier=2356015&location_number=1

I know there is a tower here at that location, but I've never gotten a signal from it. I've gotten a signal from the tower southeast of it near where Bancroft intersects the University/Parks Trail. But since it looks like it's licensed to Nextel for a bunch of 800 frequencies, does that mean we could expect LTE/1x800 service from this tower in the future? I don't really have my hopes up and I don't really know what to make of these kind of reports either but any thoughts? Here's a look at the tower on Street View too if that's significant... https://www.google.com/maps/@41.6731647,-83.6693035,3a,15y,353.9h,108.04t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sYEhJhcp1c8cBPgj2zJed4w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

  5. I'm sure they are working on getting 41 down there. I know that Toledo is much bigger market, but they are already have 2 band 41 carriers all around Toledo. I agree with Rob if they can get I'd take it especially were band 41don't reach and 25 is there with double the capacity and speed much better ::tu::

I wonder why we don't have an official B41 launch yet. That'd be good for marketing. Most places I go now around Toledo (at least outdoors) I get band 41, and when I do, it's fast. Near UT I got around 60mbps the other day. Now I just wish we had B26 so I wouldn't drop to 3G so frequently indoors... And that tower near Corey and Sylvania NEEDS LTE. Overall I think Toledo has seen some big improvements in the past couple months.

  6. Well after 1 year 5 months and 3 days, my tower is LTE accepted. Tower located near downtown Sylvania.... Happy dance

Sweet! That should be a big improvement.

As fall has turned to winter, I have seen quite a few improvements signal and speed-wise. IDK if that's optimizing on Sprint's part or just the leaves being gone or something crazy like that?

Now they just need to LTE accept the one near Sylvania and Corey and I'll be all set!

  7. Here's a couple of probably stupid questions...

How do I know which tower I'm connected to for data (3G)? The 1XRTT tower info is listed, but there is nothing listed under the eHRPD section about which tower the signal is coming from. Could they be coming from the same tower? If so, then why is there such a difference in the signal strength between the 1X and eHRPD?

Lastly, if you look at the screenshots, you'll notice the BID numbers are different. That means that the phone has changed towers, right? Is it normal for the phone to switch towers when it is sitting stationary on my desk? Not moving, it will constantly change between BID 426, 979, 996, and sometimes even a fourth.

    Thanks a lot.

  8. hello dude, you must be a newbie. That's okay this is an automated response that you always here. And just include that anybody else they all know the same thing we've always gotten the same message back. Hang in there you'll get a personal response back. Trust me lol

I am a newbie!!! I did get a response back, from "Sarah B." at Sprint. I asked specifically for a date of when we'd start seeing LTE within the city and even more specifically when the Bancroft and Douglas tower would be accepted. I did also mention the conversation with the contractors.

The response: "I understand that you would like to receive specific detailed information as to when LTE will be available in your area of Toledo, Ohio. There are many different factors that go into choosing the cities where LTE will first become available and the amount of time that it takes to complete the upgrades once they have began. Your feedback has been noted and is a great source of information, which can be utilized to positively impact service improvements, product selections, rate plan prices and choices, customer interaction and satisfaction. Sprint is working diligently to add 4G to Sprint covered areas. To obtain a list of the current and upcoming 4G markets, please log onto www.sprint.com/4G. Thank you for being a valued Sprint customer, for your feedback and for your time. Your time is greatly appreciated. Have a wonderful day."

    That was not helpful.
