There seems to have been some adds in the Randolph/Holbrook area, but downtown Boston has been pretty stagnant. I live on the South Shore and there are a few sites yet to be activated that will provide pretty solid, broad coverage for the area, whereas I go in and out frequently now. Can't complain too much, our rollout seems to have been one of the better ones.

My train ride takes me through Quincy, and I am now picking up 4G as I ride through the in the Quincy Center area. Previously, after losing 4G soon after departing South Station, I didn't pick it back up until we hit Braintree.

On another note, even when in 3G my phone works well as a mobile hotspot for my Nexus 7, so the 3G uogrades are definitely showing up as well.

My Evo 4G LTE definitely picks up a 4G signal better over the past week+, particularly noticeable south of Boston. Previously one would always have to toggle to switch from 3G to 4G down here.

Robert, I have been getting increasing 4G service in Hull, MA. Faster too. Yet I don't see any new towers on the map that would reach this far. Any thoughts?

MBTA WiFi is terrible unless the train has no one on it, 3G is usually quicker for basic stuff.

Live in Hull, MA and get 4G randomly on occasion, from the Hingham tower I assume, but very rare.

Beacon Hill now seems solid.

Getting 4G, -110, in Hull, MA. Never got wimax 4G at home in Hull.

Lost connection walking back through lower Downtown Crossing to Beacon Hill, when it kicked in again, but not nearly as fast.

I have a pretty consistent connection, but pretty slow speeds, on Beacon Hill.

At 1:30 p.m. today in Fanueil Hall, however, it was much faster.

I was busy with something, so I didn't do a speed test, but I was getting a 4G signal in the Hingham, MA shipyard last night, off of Route 3A. Coincidentally, or perhaps not, with my old EVO I used to get wimax 4G in that area as well.

Getting it pretty consistently in/around the State House in Boston.

From Boston, MA (Beacon Hill; inside building): Powered phone off and on, and had 4G for the first time when the device came back on. Only lasted a couple of minutes, now back to 3G.

From Beacon Hill: After reading these posts I powered off and on, and when the device came back on it was 4G, but it only lasted for a couple of minutes and now I am back to 3G. I am inside a building, will test this afternoon at other, outdoor locations.

Hiawathay Bray dropped this casually in a device review in yesterday's Boston Globe:

"The Photon Q is compatible with Sprint’s upgraded 4G data service, which uses snappy LTE technology for much faster data downloads than the company’s old-school 4G system. The LTE option is still unavailable in many cities, but Boston is plugged in. The Photon Q I tested was downloading data at over 10 million bits per second, and uploading at almost 4 megabits. Hot stuff."

I work on Beacon Hill and haven't had any 4G connections yet.

Any Boston update; specificallty, does the news of some fleeting LTE service from North of the city earlier this month indicate a roll out is imminent?
