The "official" Sprint coverage maps are showing LTE in the Philly area. I would assume an official launch is soon.

Ask and you shall receive I guess, Sprint seems to have upgraded another tower around me where I spend most of my time cause I work very close to the tower but considering I turn LTE off when at work to conserve battery life because it's pointless to leave it on when there is no signal from that tower. So anyway I get home from work and have to run out for a few minutes and what do I see popup right where I work a nice strong LTE signal with the speeds to match, granted the ping times are unusually high at around 80-100ms we're talking 15-25Mbps granted I live in a very hilly area and have a lot of trees and woods so signal gets lost quickly. Now I just need a stringer signal by my house.

And may I ask where that is?

I'm having some data issues in the roxborough area don't know what's going on I have full bars but nothing loads, I did a service update but it still comes and goes maybe they're working on a near by tower.

I am also having data issues in central Bucks county...same thing as you.

Thanks for these pictures, it helps a lot to know what to look for.
One question in particular that you may be able to answer for me in regards to the stealth site you took pics of; where do they put the LTE panels? I can clearly see the new NV panels near the top of the "flagpole" but where would they put the LTE RRU's?

I hope so, based on the progress so far I can only imagine an "official" announcement is right around the corner. Is this a sign that LTE will be officially launched soon? just got this email today.

Actually, Robert updated the Sponsor maps last night & there is an LTE site in Warrington which would make total sense. I love the Sponsor maps...you can follow the progress in almost real time. It also shows just how many more sites will be coming on board as the NV rollout continues. We haven't seen anything yet!
I saw that tower this morning and it actually was not the one I was thinking of...but either way, lots of progress is good.

It seems like a new tower was turned on up in the Warrington area....I picked up a signal today on Rt 611 adjacent to the old Willow Grove NAS & then across County Line Rd up to BJs Wholesale Club. The signal wasn't real strong, but th network was still nice & quick. I'll have to do a little tower hunting...
It's possible that it could be the tower on Bristol rd. north of 611 in Warrington. That site is on a farm and has been 3G complete since at least November 2012.

I was up in Montgomeryville/Landsdale yesterday and mapped some new 4G. Looks like progress is really picking up!

So it looks like they are doing some testing in Horsham, my neighbor got a real brief LTE signal on his Galaxy S3, by the time I cycled airplane mode, it was gone...

Does anyone know when a particular tower that is showing upgraded 3G will be upgraded to 4G? (PL03XC028)I have a customer that really needs that tower upgraded and I want to know around when it is slated to get LTE..
I don't think anyone outside of Sprint knows when a specific tower will be broadcasting 4G, although in most cases from my understanding when a site is upgraded to 3G it is also 4G ready, just not yet turned on or accepted. So it's usually just a few months down the road when 4G is turned on, barring any setbacks.

I can confirm the sports complex has great coverage. Was in the "M" lot during the day and the ball park had exceptional coverage!

WiMAX was Clearwire. Network Vision is Sprint. The two deployments share nothing in common, and you should not use the former to prejudge the latter.
AJ
Thanks AJ, I am well aware that it is comparing apples to oranges and am just excited that there is going to be usable 4G at a place I frequent during the summer months. Although Sprint did market their initial 4G offering several years ago based on wimax, I do understand the significance of the NV build out and how they are very different things.

I must say the coverage at citizens bank park is fantastic I had LTE everywhere I went and the speeds even under heavy load remained around 3-4Mbps I was pretty satisfied.
That is awesome considering that wimax was terrible there before.

Looks like there should be 4G ready for baseball season at the sports complex according to sensorly.

Well they still haven't officially launched LTE here so it's still technically not available so we really can't complain lol.
I know, my comment was slightly sarcastic. I was like a kid at Christmas last week when 4G started popping up, and now its like I broke my shiny new toy. I can't wait until things start to get off the ground here and LTE gets turned on for good.

It is like Sprint is playing a cruel joke, teasing us with 4G for a couple days, then taking it away...

Yup, mapped it yesterday.

Where exactly did you map 4G, as I don't see any new 4G showing on Sensorly other than what I mapped in Warminster/Southampton last week.
