  1. Ask and you shall receive I guess, Sprint seems to have upgraded another tower around me where I spend most of my time cause I work very close to the tower but considering I turn LTE off when at work to conserve battery life because it's pointless to leave it on when there is no signal from that tower. So anyway I get home from work and have to run out for a few minutes and what do I see popup right where I work a nice strong LTE signal with the speeds to match, granted the ping times are unusually high at around 80-100ms we're talking 15-25Mbps granted I live in a very hilly area and have a lot of trees and woods so signal gets lost quickly. Now I just need a stringer signal by my house. :)

And may I ask where that is?

Thanks for these pictures, it helps a lot to know what to look for.

One question in particular that you may be able to answer for me in regards to the stealth site you took pics of; where do they put the LTE panels?  I can clearly see the new NV panels near the top of the "flagpole" but where would they put the LTE RRU's?

  3. Actually, Robert updated the Sponsor maps last night & there is an LTE site in Warrington which would make total sense. I love the Sponsor maps...you can follow the progress in almost real time. It also shows just how many more sites will be coming on board as the NV rollout continues. We haven't seen anything yet!

I saw that tower this morning and it actually was not the one I was thinking of...but either way, lots of progress is good.

  4. It seems like a new tower was turned on up in the Warrington area....I picked up a signal today on Rt 611 adjacent to the old Willow Grove NAS & then across County Line Rd up to BJs Wholesale Club. The signal wasn't real strong, but th network was still nice & quick. I'll have to do a little tower hunting...

It's possible that it could be the tower on Bristol rd. north of 611 in Warrington. That site is on a farm and has been 3G complete since at least November 2012.

  5. Does anyone know when a particular tower that is showing upgraded 3G will be upgraded to 4G? (PL03XC028)I have a customer that really needs that tower upgraded and I want to know around when it is slated to get LTE..

I don't think anyone outside of Sprint knows when a specific tower will be broadcasting 4G, although in most cases from my understanding when a site is upgraded to 3G it is also 4G ready, just not yet turned on or accepted. So it's usually just a few months down the road when 4G is turned on, barring any setbacks.

WiMAX was Clearwire. Network Vision is Sprint. The two deployments share nothing in common, and you should not use the former to prejudge the latter.

Thanks AJ, I am well aware that it is comparing apples to oranges and am just excited that there is going to be usable 4G at a place I frequent during the summer months. Although Sprint did market their initial 4G offering several years ago based on wimax, I do understand the significance of the NV build out and how they are very different things.
