Seems like there MAY be a difference in battery life depending on which chip you have.

When you guys post your battery results, can you also post which chip you have?

1. 5689#*980# 2. IOT(CDG2) 3. System Selection 4. Network Mode 5. LTE only you probably shouldn't mess with anything else in that menu though Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Thank you.

Anyone have steps on how to switch to LTE only mode? I tried looking under ##3282# but can't find it and my google fu is poor.

Before you try this you need to get your MSL number. You can get your MSL number by typing the following dialer code ##443336772#. Now that you have your MSL number do the following:
1. On the phone dialer, type ##DATA# (##3282#)
2. Select "LTE" and press "Edit"
3. Enter your 6 digit MSL number.
4. Change the following Band Priorities to the following
Band 25 = 0
Band 26 = 0
Band 41 = 1
5. Once you back out of the menu, the phone will automatically reboot.
6. On the phone dialer, type ##DATA# (##3282#)
7. Select "LTE" and press "View"
8. Select "Band Priority" and verify the band priorities are set to 41>25>26.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!
Just one more thing for my fellow idiots, you also have to Enable bands 41 and 26. It took me two times to realize they were disabled.

Just tried manual update and I'm installing it now.
Funny how everyone is getting it today. I'm guessing it was a problem with the mechanism they use to push out the update.

I've been sporadically getting LTE from somewhere but I'm not sure. Is there any way to tell from the following SignalCheck info? GCI:09805802, PCI:242, TAC: 19477

We had one report of someone connecting to a Band 26 site in North Wisconsin. That's it so far. If any of you get into range of an accepted Band 26 site, change your banding priority to put Band 26 up top and cycle airplane mode and see what happens! Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
Which sites on the map are Band 26 accepted? Green?
Anyone have a link on how to change Band priority? I have a LG G2.

Having data issues today in Merton. SignalCheck says I'm connected to eHRPD, but I don't have a 3G indicator and I cannot connect to the network. I will assume they are doing work, it's been like this all day.

Anyone else in the Milwaukee/Menomonee Falls area having data problems today?
My eHRPD signal seems to go in and out all morning. The 1x800 is very strong though.
Maybe they're doing some work on the tower my signal is coming from.
As much as I want LTE, I hope no one is out working on towers in this weather. I'm not expecting much progress until it starts to warm up.

I was at Hartbrook Bowling alley in Hartland today and had a blip of LTE inside, but not long enough to run a speedtest. Out in the parking lot, LTE kicked back in and we were getting download speeds of 22-24 Mbps and uploads around 8Mbps! On both my G2 (triband/CSFB) and an iPhone 5s.
That's better than I get from TimeWarner!
-
Yesterday I had LTE on my G2 near the Brookfield mall. So it looks like they are working the CSFB issue too!
Signal wasn't very strong, averaged around -115. I was able to run a few speed tests and was getting about 2Mbps on average, but I did get 5Mbps on one test.

Another big round of updates for the Milwaukee area.....it's getting closer.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do you know this? Just by looking at the NV map?

Anyone have a triband phone in the Oak Creek area? I think I asked before but I don't remember if I got an answer.
At work none of our triband phones get lte when the tower down the street both ways are green pins. The usual airplane mode and prl have been done and it will hang on lte for a second and then default back to 3g. Ideas?
The only thing I can think of is the towers don't have CSFB turned on/complete.
But I'm with you, I thought our phones would definitely get LTE from green pins. Just picked up my wife an iPhone 5s today. On the way home from BB it was connected to LTE quite a bit. Not at our house, but I guess that is what wifi is for.

The last two days I haven't been able to connect to eHRPD at times, and connect to EV-DO instead. Does that mean they might be working on the towers near me?
-
I've been meaning to ask and keep forgetting. Anyone around the Oak Creek area have a nexus or g2? According to the NV complete maps Sheppard Ave and classic lanes should give us triband users 4g yet I get nothing.
Any ideas?
I don't live near Oak Creek, but I do have a LG G2. I was at Lake Country Lutheran High School at 16 and 83 very close to a "yellow" tower, aka 3G/4G, and didn't pick up any LTE. I was picking up a very strong 1x800 signal though.
I thought triband users would pick up LTE on yellow towers as they would be CSFB compliant. Now, I wondering if I should have returned my G2.

Took a drive after work down 16 to KE, took KE to K to Sussex. The only place I was without LTE was on most of KE between 16 and K. When I drove past Jessica Dr, LTE signal was around -100 there. I didn't bother driving in further on Jessica Dr. though to see if signal improved. So it could have been some other tower I was hitting (this summer I was able to get LTE from the 16/83 tower all the way to Richmond & K near Richmond School).
Drove past the WCTC tower and was getting levels in the -80s for LTE, so I think that one's on. Haven't dropped out of 800 since Friday anywhere I've been in Waukesha/Washington county.
I have a LG G2, I am not picking up any LTE. I'm assuming due to the CSFB triband issue. I'm hoping I'll start getting LTE when these towers all become official NV sites.

Saw it switch to BSL: Woodside Rd, Sussex, and then switch a few minutes later to BSL: N48 W30756 Hill St, Hartland.
All those 1X800.
-
I downloaded the Pro version. BSL: Jessica Dr. Pewaukee. I think that is really near the Goetz driving range.

I just updated my PRL and now SignalCheck is showing I have 1x800. Still no LTE though.
How do I tell which tower I'm connect to?

Big hidden water tower in Sussex is broadcasting 800 this morning, also one near Goetz's Driving Range... indicated by SignalCheck (it was flipping between those two towers).
I live near the Goetz's driving range. How can I tell if I'm picking up 800? I have SignalCheck Lite and it show's I'm connecting 1xRTT. Are RTT and 800 mutually exclusive? Will SigCkh Lite show 800 only if I'm actually connected to it?
I also have a LG G2, so maybe I'm not getting the 800 due to the CSFB issue?

I've noticed the earpiece static noise a couple times now, but not every call. I don't make that many calls though, but it makes me nervous.
On another site, I found out about a benchmarking app called AnTuTu. I'm guessing the advanced users here already know about it. People were reporting scores between 33-35k. I'm in the 28-29k range. Has anyone else tried it?

So what seems to be the best case/protector so far? I just got my GC from BB. I was thinking of the QuickWindow case, but not sure if I like the idea of a front cover. Does anyone know if the front folds all the way against the back?
Suggestions?

Supposedly the app and website to check which CPU are benign, but I'd still be cautious. I thought someone mentioned you could also check via Settings. I don't have an iPhone yet so I can't be sure.
I've been scrolling thru the reddit post and macrumors and it seems before this battery life issue everyone wanted a Samsung chip, now everyone seems to want a TSMC.
I'm not due for a new phone until November, so I have time for this to shake out. Funny thing is, I am planning to switch to an iPhone because I'm tired of all the issues and problems I've had with my various Android phones. Now with the CPU controversy, problems with 9.0.x and other issues I'm reading about, it makes me wonder if Apple is slipping. The whole point of switching was getting a quality phone that "just works" and that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
