The ideal thing to do is to have another lte capable phone to have a comparison. Do you know anyone with a gnex, gs3, note 2 etc.....? If so then use that device to see if you can get connected. Even though the site may be confirmed to be lte, there could be other issues involved and it could have easily been temporarily taken offline. No need to get all worked up or frustrated, like Dkoellerwx said, Raleigh is in the very early stages of getting upgraded.

I made a video demonstrating this and posted it on xda. They agreed to swap it out . The replacement still wont even connect while the ladie's S3 sits on lte all day at the house.

I took a 180 when I made two trips to Houston. 100% upgrades in a market really isn't going to make a difference. Sprint doesn't have 100% coverage everywhere. The problem will still be there. I was in an area with good coverage and the issue still existed. It is less of an issue of course but still very noticeable.

Unfortunately the majority of the users either don't care or must have drank that new network koolaid sprint gave them' date=' so I am just going to shut my mouth about it and focus on getting my phone swapped out.

Good luck. Hope your experience goes better than mine. Really had to beg and plead to get a replacement. Waiting on it now. I had to show the guy screenshots/real photos/videos I took of my EVO and my gf S3 while she was sitting on LTE without issue and mine connects for less than 10 seconds.

  3. Oh crap, I'm blind. Yep, I was right at that intersection, just a few hours too late. Maybe I'll take the scenic route through that area to wherever I'm going tonight, if you wouldn't mind letting us know if it's still on?

Of course bro, I'll def update as soon as I'm back at office (anxious to get back and test again). I'm almost sure its a single tower because its a very small area that LTE is available. I figured this would be a big deal to someone...some Dbag at XDA deleted my thread about the find so no one there is aware of this either when I'm sure there are interested parties in the area.

  4. During what hours are you seeing this? Around 10:30 last night, I got off 290 at Thorndale and wandered around the subdivision at the corner of 290 and Thorndale. After not picking anything up, I took Prospect to Devon, then drove north on Tonne, but still didn't get anything. Were you on the west side of 290?

It had shut off by the time I left work yesterday (7PM). It was on by the time I got to work (devon/arlington heights rd) today. I'll check in a few hours when I'm back at office again. The lat/long should be on the image I posted if not I have more to post later. Hope this helps although the best speeds I saw were 12-14MBPS.

  5. Ran a test today on my og epic running cm9rc1

This outside on the corner of Rt31 and wing park street. Results typical of Elgin. I haven't found a site yet to have backhaul updated.

This is a test I ran inside the Five Guys on Meacham rd in Schaumburg. This is what I used to get in Elgin prior to nv upgrades.

    The waiting is just agonizing!

Was at Westwood for lunch next door and it's wifi or Nada.. My 3d worked fine in that place for a full year I don't get it

  6. Yah' date=' 3G is horrible in the Elk Grove / Schamburg area.

250 down, 20 up. Full bars of signal (when it wasn't zeroing out).

Went into a Sprint store in the mall, wanted to play with a S3. Compared signal strengths, -79 for my epic,-83 for the S3.

Phone was purty though! And smooth operating. Must wait till a jellybean nexus![/quote']

Work in elk Grove. Just beyond awful. Couldn't use phone in office if it wasn't for grooveip and wifi. Wimax would seem like a godsend at this point considering I'm lucky to get stream able audio on my commute. I don't get me started on how awful traveling for work is now I am at my wits end...
