  1. Sansom... I live in the same place. We also had to have a airrave to get any kind of signal. Now I have 4g at home with 2 mbps speeds. Sadly I used to get 15 mbps consistently on t mobile there, but sprint was 1/2 the cost so I switched.

Yep, Sprint is cheaper for me, which is why I have them. 4 down and 1.8 up is more than enough for anything I do on wireless so I'm very pleased! The WiMax tower is even closer to us than this Riverton LTE tower, so I can only hope that SPARK will make things even better early next year!

  2. While at Kearns High School this morning for a dance recital with full 4G. This is a screen shot from later today with WiFi on. The result doesn't show whether it was 4G or 3G. However, the antenna logo next to the date shows that it was through Sprint. You'll just have to take my word for it. Also, signals can sometimes be bad in buildings but the 4G was strong all through the school.

The screenshot shows it as WiFi at the top of the screen.

Edit:   Awhhh, I see I missed that you posted this later while on WiFi.

  3. Really? Without forcing LTE? I live in Sandy and I haven't been able to get any LTE from the new towers without forcing LTE. Admittedly, I was scouting the Midvale tower today, only as far south as 90th.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Yep, wasn't forcing it. I did force it and discovered numerous bad side effects in other parts of my phone, so I'm back to those bands disabled. I am not getting the 4GLTE today in the same location. Still, I'm excited they are working on the tower.

  4. I just got the MSL code for my phone to enable all the bands on my Nexus 5. Are there priorities with the bands that work better than others?

Don't do that. I understand the desire to 'make it work', but It doesn't work well with the rest of you phone settings. I personally had all of my audio players go to sh*t after I did this (Pandora, Google Play Music, built in audio player). It was definitely NOT worth the problems it caused.

Just wait until January for the SPARK upgrade to get the software update along with the added bands

  5. I am very calculated when it comes to rooting.  Lets just say, I don't root my phones unless I had a method to return back to stock.  I have those stock files as well.

So you have found a way to revert to stock AND flip the 'rooted flag' back to unmodified?? I would sure like to know how you did this since  "the stock recovery binary blows some qfuses if you've rooted your phone, and there's no known way to reset those"

You KNOW that you can restore (unroot) AND restore the 'rooted flag'??

  6. Does the layperson understand or agree with the government threatening exorbitant fines if commercial lighting that was approved for usage is not replaced?  My irritation is with ATT here. Is filing a complaint with the FCC and thus the manufacturer getting involved easier than approaching the owner and working with them to correct the issue?  Maybe ATT did and we don't know about it.

Anyway, I'll delete my prior "layperson" comment and trust that the FCC knows best.

It has nothing to do with the lighting having been previously approved or not. The issue isn't that the requirements for industrial lights are now being changed for AT&T. The issue is that you cannot use ANY device (approved or not) in a way that causes interference with licensed frequencies.

If your toaster interfered with your local TV or Radio station, you would be threatened with a fine if you did not stop using it. It would having nothing to do with your toaster being previously 'approved' for use.
