  1. Well, don't HTC phones have weaker antennas or that has been my experience with the EVO 4g LTE (model before the M7).

What might help is a more modern phone that supports Sprint's 3 main LTE bands now.  The M7 only supports one.  I had a LG Volt that did well in the area.  I do not know if the iphone currently (or will support) supports that.

I'm pretty sure the iPhone is tri-band.  thx

The EVO LTE was likely one of the weakest LTE devices on the Sprint lineup. HTC made big improvements with the M7, the M8 and M9 are even better. However, if you want the best LTE reception, you probably want to look at LG, at least with the current list of devices.

    Good to know. thanks

  2. I live in Brighton near 12 corners.  I've been up for an upgrade for a 4-5 months now.  I have an HTC One M7 and my wife has a Galaxy S4.  The last year or so, she consistently gets LTE when I am standing/sitting feet away do not.  We ran some errands in Henrietta yesterday so I did some "tests".  I had both phones on me and a few times she had LTE and I didn't.  Once was outside Home Depot on Jefferson.

    A few questions...

Is this an issue with the HTC One compared to other phones?  I have updated all the software, PRLs, etc.

Spark...is that something working now in Rochester?

I've been android the last few phones but I'm looking at possibly moving to an iPhone once their new phone is announced next month (I'm hoping the base model moves from 16 to 32GB since my One is 32GB)  Have people fared well with a consistent LTE connection in the city/east side with iPhones?

  3.

I was picking up LTE inside wegmans, but the connection doesn't last the farther you get inside the store. Always been the story with sprint I side wegmans. I am getting a very good connection in the areas near by, but lose the connection down east ave past highland. I am on the iPhone 5s

Thanks. I will check again this week when I am at Wegmans.  Yeah Sprint signal sucks once you get past the produce area and deeper in the store.

htc one is known to have issues connecting to weak lte signal. As more towers pop up you should connect more often. Do you know the weakest signal you can connect to? My gs4 will connect to -125 if the site is unburdened. My guess is htc picked -105 to connect. I don't think you can change the entry or exit signal strength. It could also be her phone just scans first for lte.

I just did the radio update for the HTC One in TWRP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2576995

which hopefully will make the phone pickup LTE more frequently. If it doesn't help, I might just unroot and return it to stock and do the full update Sprint just pushed out.

  4. I picked up LTE yesterday in Webster near Xerox (Ridge and Salt was where I picked it up). I did a sensorly trip on my way home back to Brighton (104W to 590).

I saw the post on someone picking up LTE at East Ave Wegmans. I live not too far from that Wegmans and have been there twice in the last week. I have yet to pick it up LTE.

When my wife and I are out, she seems to pickup LTE on her Galaxy S4 more than my HTC One. I noticed this a few times in Henrietta the last few months. I am rooted with Roam Control set to Auto. Could that app be messing with the speed of the switch to LTE?

    Thanks

  5. I briefly had LTE this morning.  Clinton Ave / Court Street.  It was gone before I do a speed check.

The signal in this area has totally sucked the last month.  Dropped calls all the time to the point where I use my office phone.  I have worked in this location for 3 years and never had this problem.  So something has been cooking around here.

  6. I haven't left the Rochester area this month but have a little LTE data for my HTC One for October.   I'm assuming it was in Henrietta like others above stated.

I did experience some LTE speeds in NYC, Boston, and Philly in the past.  Can't wait.

I just downloaded SignalCheck Pro and already have sensorly installed.  I will post anything I pick up.  I live in Brighton near 12 corners.
