  1. Anyone have any problems with navigation button backlight? I have had my my phone for a week and at nights if the phone is not laid flat and under a light the back light does not turn on. This is so weird. I noticed this right after the latest sprint update.

I have back light set to be on while the screen is on and if I go anywhere without direct light on the face of phone the back light turns off. Tapping on the buttons does not turn them on either.

  2. I have a problem with my phone randomly not receiving calls. I have done the "scrtn" thing, I have cleared cache partition, update profile & prl and have even done a complete reset. The problem still exsist.

  3. I'm finding the opposite with mine; the phone seems to stick to 3G until I airplane mode cycle or wait an awful long time til it figures out there's LTE in the area.  Prior to the update it would grab LTE more often.  Maybe it's an area thing... eCSFB seems to be fine here, but still waiting on B26 on some towers and they've started installing B41 equipment recently.  Not sure if that would have anything to do with my issue.

I had the same problem after the update, phone was mostly stuck on 3G in known LTE areas and had to cycle airplane mode.

Called HTC & the tech suggested removing & reinstalling the simcard. That solved the problem for me, so give it try and hope it works for you too

Thanks! Tried that and it seems to be working better now.

Since you have done that I would also update PRL and then Profile

  5. its a tower issue, not phone.

you can disable automatically adjust time in the settings/options

I know I can disable the auto time zone but it bugs the hell out me to do it that way.

It's kind of like buying a car with an automatic tranny but can't just put in drive and go.

I have a friend who lives not far from me with an M8 and he has no problems, so I am not sure it's just a tower issue.

  6. I need some big time help.

I have been having a problem with my phone constantly switching from eastern to central time zone, multiple times each day.

    I live in south Florida.

I got the phone replaced today for the third time over the last 2 months and the issue continues even with the new phone.

I got all phones from Bestbuy, who also activated the phones.

I was wondering if there was some kind of activation or provisioning issues.

At this point it does not seem to be a hardware/phone problem but more likely an issue with Sprint.

Any input or suggestions from the good folks here would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  7. yes this last 'urgent' update, in m experience, caused it to be drastically more sensitive to ecsfb problems and drop to 3g all the time all over the place here in stl.

prior to this update, i never had any problems connecting to lte of any type.

Agreed, prior to update I had no problems connecting to lte.

I drive by 3 towers to and from work and my phone is still on 3G. I have to toggle airplane mode to get lte.

This worse than my old 4g lte.

  8.

Maybe try uninstalling chrome and re-install it. To me it works as it did before....

(The one thing I noticed, even with ICS, chrome uses quite a bit of RAM with all the sync function and all.... )...

I have tried that too and still does the same thing.

I think I might try just doing a factory restore instead of the backup & restore, dont know if that will make a difference.

  9. I have been it contact with HTC tech support via e-mail over the last couple of days regarding LTE connection issues.

The last e-mail I got was last night and she told me that the next update would include a fix for the LTE connection issues.

She told me the update would be very soon but did not specify when.

I was considering posting that info last night but decided not to, because the thread on connection issues got heated and was temporarilly closed by Mods.

So I hope all this is true and we will all be happy campers tomorrow.

I just received another e-mail from HTC suggesting that I manually check for software updates.

I did check but nothing available right now.

My question is... are they hinting that an update will be available soon??

    Maybe.. its tomorrow

Ok...since I am not really a techie...and I don't yet own an LTE device, this thread probably none of my business...but, just a thought...

Could the situation be that the LTE works better switching from WiFi because Sprint is trying to get users to use WiFi (off load) whenever possible, so the phone is set to encourage users to use WiFi indoor, and then gets a better LTE signal outdoors.

    Just a thought

  12. I contacted HTC yesterday about the phone not automatically connecting to the LTE network.

After telling that I was across the street from a known LTE tower and sat there for 10 mins and phone would not connect.

After doing the toggle it connected.

The rep told me that nothing is wrong with my phone and it is because of how the signal is transmitted from the tower. So its basically a sprint issue.I currently have 2 other lines now eligible for an upgrade but I dont think I going to use them for Evo Lte.

So today I found out tower near my work place was active.

While at work my phone is connected to wi-fi, so as I was walking outside I turned off wi-fi and phone connected to 4G briefly and then went to 3G, it stayed on 3G until I did the airplane toogle then connected to 4G.

I decided to do a little experimenting.

I went back into our office, turned on wi-fi and connected to our network.

I then proceeded to walk out of the building, leaving wi-fi turned on.I continued walking until I lost the wi-fi signal and the phone immediately connected to 4G and it remained connected to 4G until I was back in range of wi-fi.

As I was leaving work I decided to do some Sensorly mapping.Part of route took me out of 4G range and I was back on 3G.

I figured I would wait until I was close to the tower then do the airplane toggle, as I got closer to tower the phone actually connected to 4G on its own and remained connected for about 2 miles before I lost signal.

Anybody have any thoughts on this situation.
