  1. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Full 4GLTE on my phone earlier this morning. Had to update my PRL like 9 times and still had it, forced 3G and the pings were sub 30 hitting 2mbps. Watched a Youtube video and just smiled as it streamed along with no buffering. So this is what it feels like to have good internet

  2. Just got a message at work from Sprint saying the new network is all around me, and that a tower I use most is going to be upgraded in the next couple of days. I'm hoping this is true considering LTE is pretty much wrapping around the main metro area of Buffalo now. Now they just have to start heading into the center. I'm sure Buffalo will officially launch next month at some point

  3. Ok thank you very much for that information, hopefully sprint gets these LTE towers live because sprint has had such bad service in buffalo for so long. If they plan to keep any customers they need to start paying overtime to get those back hauls ran to the towers. Sprint hypothetical concept of the tri band is definitely capable of out shining the other carriers but sprint needs to actually execute it.

They will eventually, like 2016, but any type of lte is good for the time being

  4. Well if it's true that back haul isn't an issue why wouldn't they just do the CDMA and LTE upgrades at once, what's the point of just doing network vision for 3G?

Edit: basically 3G is going to suck even with network vision upgrades until they start the CDMA 800. The problem on half of the towers is the awful range due to the 1900mhz spectrum

Well the 3G sites your seeing being accepted do in fact have all the physical network vision equipment installed on them, including LTE..only thing is until Backhaul is installed, LTE will not go live. Once more towers come online you will start to see much better speeds and signal. Yes 1900mhz is very short in range compared to 800 but it will get better as our market gets Phase 1 of Network Vision completed. I'm sure once majority of the towers are upgraded, they will start deploying 800 and 2500mhz (800 is 50/50 because of the IBEZ situation between us and Canada). Even without 800 unless your in a rural area, you will see great coverage!

  5. So how many sites have LTE installed but are waiting for back haul to launch? Anyone have any idea?

Really have to become a Sponsor to the site to get precise info like that, but I don't think for our market backhaul is a problem. I just think they are slowly deploying it..and the weather i'm sure does not help. But apparently within the next month you should see improvements with your service. Here's hoping that's the case

  6. Received a text from Sprint today at work saying over the next month they will be working on our towers. This does fall along the anticipated Spring timeline of when Buffalo will go live. Hope everything goes as planned and their are no delays

    *fingers crossed*

  7. I haven't received any texts regarding upgrades yet. And unless they start going live like they are in Rochester (Majority of Physical NV is done) I doubt we will see any significant upgrades, especially in the city itself. But then again who knows Sprint might Surprise us with LTE. Really hope they do

  8. Anyone else in buffalo/riverside ready to cancel sprint after not being able to make or receive phone calls for like 4 days?

I live in Black Rock and since yesterday my 3G has improved slightly. I'm now getting .75-1.2mbps during heavy traffic hours and at night. Not sure if this means towers are being worked on or just people jumping ship and freeing up towers

  9. I feel like the weather has been playing a huge factor in how long its taking to get towers upgraded. Really no known upgrades in weeks. And since IBEZ holds us back in terms of LTE 800 does anyone know if we will be getting the other 2 bands (1900,2500mhz) to cover the area or just 1900?

  10. Mina, NY is "officially" a market that has launched? I've never even heard of that town. Certainly not of similar size to Dunkirk or Jamestown. Or even Olean which has had a bunch of LTE installed too. But, good for the southern tier at any rate!

I find it oddly peculiar that zero acceptances have been done in Niagara County.

I was wondering the same thing..although I was in Niagara Falls this past weekend and had fairly unusual 3G speeds of 1.6-2.2mbps which in my mind only means im connecting to a 3G Accepted NV site because I usually roam close to the boarder. I guess it just depends on what the priority is. Rochester has almost complete NV 3G upgrades done but only like 3 towers that have LTE. All of NY seems to be blowing up with LTE so hopefully it wont be long before we see LTE in the Inner cities like NF and Buffalo

  11. Well thats new... Dunkirk and i think its jamestown in the south of the market have officially launched.. Thats nice! Especially because i know Dunkirk/ fredonia state college did not even have 3g now they have 3g and 4g.. Go Sprint!!

Yup this is true. South is filling up pretty nicely with lte. Now they just have to work on North Buffalo and the inner Metro areas next, Although I feel those will be last

  12. So basically the last week and a half I have had by far the worst 3G performance I have ever had with them. Pardon the server it had pretty much same pings. I'm guessing, and not getting any hopes up, that this may indicate that local towers around me are having work done on them

  13. Im wondering why I haven't seen any good LTE speeds all I have been getting are around 1-2mbps on LTE. No double digits as of yet and im sure someone on here knows why but my guess is no backhaul? Or just not enough or just everyone in Buffalo has an LTE phone and we are all on just 2 towers hah

  14. The far side of Clarence, Akron and some of East Aurora up today.

Great News! I saw we had 3 LTE upgrades within the last few days. Also was wondering when East Aurora was going to get some LTE since they were one of the first in the Market to get  NV Upgrades. Oh and to state what I had said earlier the Sprint Rep explained to me that by October, their will be substantial LTE coverage within the Inner City of Buffalo and by December the Buffalo market should be mostly completed with the initial 1.9GHz LTE Rollout. Guess we'll wait and see
