  1. Sitting right under the tower doesn't do much for your signal. A block away would probably do better.

In those 10 minutes, did you try an airplane mode toggle or anything? It may be the scan time causing it to take a while to find it. Although my ONE is pretty good at picking up LTE within a few minutes.

well across the street... I was over exaggerating, but yeah I can cycle the network modes/airplane mode/PRL update and maybe get it to connect. I've just been frustrated because I'm used to wimax phones constantly searching for a signal. Didn't realize it is a set interval when searching for LTE. My Note 2 seems to keep a fairly reliable connection compared to the my one and switches from cdma to Lte a lot quicker
  2. I heard that some of the towers previously broadcasting LTE aren't or weren't anymore. I know Galleria Blvd was spotty with LTE when I was around there, so most likely its the network not your phone. My girl has the HTC One on T-Mobile and she pick up LTE everywhere we go. Even in the middle of the Best Buy off Birdcage in Citrus Heights. I don't get any data at all in any of the Best Buys usually on my phone. Its usually not a phone issue and more of a network issue when data is bad. But it is possible to get bad devices, nothing is perfect. You can have a tech check out the phone if you actually think its your device though. On that note, the S4 is a better phone spec wise and I like it more personally. But the One is a good device to, just not for me. Did you do the most recent software update? I know it added the feature of HD voice among other things.

Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2

every tower that I've connected to has been losing connection constantly... Even when right next to the tower. I can sit right under a tower and my phone won't switch to LTE for at least a good 10 minutes. Should I have this checked out by a sprint tech? And yes I have updated to the newest software... Hasn't done much in the way of reception, and still haven't gotten to try HD voice
  3. For several weeks I had LTE over near the Old Spaghetti Factor on Sunrise Ave near I80/Douglas Blvd in Roseville.  Now, this week, nothing.  I've updated my PRL and profile, pulled the battery, left the building and went walking around to see if I could get a signal.   Any idea on what's going on?

Yeah I'm having the same problem... The tower that covered my house is no longer broadcasting LTE... I'm curious as to why
  4.

Jstates, are you saying you are seeing EV-DO and LTE signal information in SignalCheck at the same time, but you are not connecting to LTE? PM me a screenshot when you have a chance, if the bug is due to the app, I'd like to fix it.

Dkoellerwx, can the HTC ONE not connect to 3G and 4G at the same time? I know some devices can, and some cannot. Just trying to determine where the glitch might be.

here ya go... I'm within LTE coverage but I'm always dropping to 3G and takes super long to switch to LTE from 3G

  5. 800 will be deployed in either 5x5mhz or 3x3mhz configurations depending on local spectrum availability in lieu of other entities holding portions of the block like Solinco or spectrum squatters... In a 5x5 configuration, the speeds will be no different than PCS other than the fact that you will likely get more usable LTE signal than PCS which translates to better speeds than PCS at the same position as LTE is very signal dependent.  In a 3x3mhz configuration, the theoretical max is something like 22 mbps (?).

how come sprint didn't go the 5x10mhz route?
  6. Two things.

First, RF performance has nothing to do with speeds. lilotimz's post is fairly accurate in assessment of RF performance. Just because it's slightly weaker on RF does not mean it will have slow speeds. Once connected, speeds will still be very fast.

Second, 800MHz LTE will not be faster than 1900. It will be the same configuration as Sprint's current PCS LTE, except in areas where the SMR spectrum is limited for Sprint. Therefore, it will have the same theoretical max of 37.5Mbps.

Could it be a software problem? Or does it have to do with the aluminum hardware? Because it just seems like it takes awhile for it to switch from 3G to 4G, and using the signalcheck app it shows a Lte signal but still wants to connect to 3G even when 4G is available

  7. I'd be stoked with even 8 Mbps down. Certain parts of SF (mainly downtown) are down to a consistent 2-4 Mbps (near the Costco for example). That said, AT&T and Verizon have also suffered from areas where it's dropped to near 3G speeds. Far sight better than the 3G I get now from Sprint, but still noticeably "slow." A consistent minimum of 8 would be fabulous though. On a mobile device, that's still fine for streaming video IMO.

more than enough and pretty consistent driving around Roseville
